100% agree on this! I've been taking steps to not only improve my physical health, but my financial heath, mental health, and improve my education. I feel better than I ever have in my life.

Donated blood on Saturday morning, so I kind of expected my Sunday run to be a bit rough. Ended up being a beautiful day and I was actually 20 seconds faster per mile than what I normally run. Perhaps the slight weight loss helped ;) :p . March 7 - 3.19 miles March 8 - Spinning after work - No running today Total for March…

My huge goal this year is to get my base back that I lost last year. Before 2020, I was averaging 1000+ mile years and last year, I barely got to 600. So, my base is shot. I ran 5 miles today without walking and felt totally amazing the entire time. Super happy with how it went and I have no doubt that I'll get to my goals…

I think it's for show. Getting them in therapy and having them talk through their issues and develop strategies to cope is less entertaining than watching them struggle to make the changes needed. Don't forget, the network covers the surgery and all care for the year of filming. I'm cynical, but their goal is ratings.…

I have to say, even though I don't respond a lot, I do read and you all are such a positive, upbeat bunch and I love it. I love the motivation. I did the challenges 2 years ago, but then "The Year That Will Be Forgotten" happened. So: March 3 - 3.11 miles March 4 - 3.11 miles March 5 - Today will be some spin and…

3/1 - No running - Spin and strength training 3/2 - 4 early morning miles that felt really awesome Total for March - 4 miles Goal for March - 70 miles Miles to go - 66 miles

I don't. I'm losing consistently and happy with my results so far.

Hey everyone! I'm in for March for 70 miles! Got a little over 60 in February, so it's a decent goal.

I love Aaptiv. It's audio based and there are so many types of workouts. Running, walking, strength, yoga, meditation, etc. Aside from my 1 day a week I go to a personal trainer, I am doing Aaptiv workouts. And I am loving my results.

Yes on the bolded!! It sounds corny, but I started a gratitude journal. I try to write something I am grateful for each day (not always perfect on that, LOL) and I've started to jot down non-weight loss related goals every week. Some other suggestions: If you're bored with food, what about checking out a new cookbook and…

First...please thank him for his service to our country. Second, please don't feel like you have to justify yourself to anyone regarding what works. My husband is also a "grown man" and I help with his macro counting at times. Why? Because that's what a relationship is about. Helping your significant other when they need…

I have hit gold with my personal trainer. She has over 20 years experience and has a studio out of her house. Here is what I love about her: 1. My workout is tailored for me and my goals. Just like every other client of hers. No cookie cutter workouts or workouts from a magazine. 2. Form is 100% for her (as it should be…

I love my trainer. She has incorporated all of the above into my workouts.

My workout last night with my PT had 42 total pushups. Six months ago, I could barely do 5 on my toes with good form. I did every single pushup on my toes and with good form. On top of everything else she had me do in the workout.

Yes, lifting 5 days a week (4 on my own and 1 with a trainer) and am increasing the weights as they get easier. Run 4 days a week as well. I do try my best to keep the protein high.

This. 100% this. I wasn't taught any healthy eating skills growing up. Nothing about proper proportions. I always wonder if I had been taught those skills, if I wouldn't have ballooned up to 320 pounds. I love to bake, so it's not uncommon for my kids to see my weighing stuff. My husband and I also weigh everything we eat.…

Thank you! I'm pleased with it, but really want to be sure I'm not losing muscle. I'd like to say I'm getting enough protein; I shoot for 100 g+ a day if at all possible. Some days are easier said than done with that, but I try hard to make sure I get protein in every meal. I am going to set my loss at half a pound for the…

I can assure you I am weighing everything I eat. Even if it says "slices", I weigh it and compare against the nutrition label. If I'm making a meal, I create a recipe with all the weights. I work in purchasing, so my activity level is set for sedentary. I think I will just set it for half a pound a week and assess again in…

I have my Garmin watch connected to the app. Wrist based heart rate. Honestly, not hungry when I am eating the majority of my exercise calories back.

They are eating at maintenance. Period. And I was their size too and only an inch taller. It was many years ago, but I can tell you I lost more weight the weeks that I was meticulous about logging every bite and weighing everything vs. the weeks where I eyeballed it/was half-butted about it. Not to mention, I would have…

Yup. There has been. But what hasn't improved is drivers paying attention more. I've been tapped by a car in full reflective gear (headlamp, vest, neon yellow shirt) when I was over halfway through the crosswalk. I feel like I could be lit up like a Christmas tree and I'd still be at risk.

Motivation is fleeting. Discipline is everything, especially when you want that type of body.

It is so hard. I would absolutely ask that he distance himself from his friends in the 2 weeks prior to visiting. I don't think it's a big ask. Obviously it's not allowed right now due to facility rules, but I'd distance ourselves from everyone for 2 weeks if it meant I could hug my grandma. Not even kidding. I'd have the…

Honestly, right now it's up in the air for my family. I do know we are taking precautions NOW in the hopes we can see our families for the holidays. I haven't seen my 89 year old grandmother since Christmas and not sure we'll be able to see her this year unless something drastic changes. My kids do know that we probably…

When exercise starts affecting your health, then you really need to rely on your doctor's advice. No one on here can answer if you'll be "okay" if you up the weight training. That needs to be another conversation with your doctor. Does he know you're a self-proclaimed fitness fanatic? Could it be that they said to cut out…

I think I get where you're coming from. I think you're talking more about the people who grab an at-home food allergy test and it comes back that their "sensitive" to all these random things. Had a coworker who did it and claimed she was allergic to all sorts of things. She literally attributed part of her weight loss to…
