I drink a lot of water now, but previously I'd just forget, or had to time when I purposefully dehydrated myself (worked in emergency response). I started drinking a glass of water any time I went the bathroom (like another poster mentioned). In my experience, if you are chronically dehydrated and you start drinking more…

I definitely have these days too! Hormone related for me, but I think they might also be connected to whooshes (and whooshes are probably also related to hormones, but anyways...). I've been stuck in the same few pounds for around 4 weeks, though my eating / exercise has been overall consistent. I had one of those "I could…

Wow! You are amazing! Thank you for sharing, and congrats on all of your hard work and dedication!

Maybe look for a climbing group in your area... they may be doing covid safe outings, you may be able to find a climbing buddy, or at the very least, you can get some advice that is specific to your location. Some colleges also have outdoor education / recreation centres that offer beginner classes, or have knowledgable…

Holy moly! Amazing work!!!

Awesome progress!

Thank you so much for sharing this! It happened to reach me at just the right time. I'm just at the start of a scheduled maintenance break, and I keep having this surprisingly vicious internal struggle to actually hold myself to it. Reading this helped me. I hope you have gotten closer and closer to the top of the well :)

Fantastic! You're amazing!

You are awesome! Thank you for sharing, it's so motivating to see people that achieve success in long term maintenance :)

You did it!! You're amazing!!! :)

That was just so wonderful to read! Congratulations on your success, and thank you so much for sharing. It's really inspiring! I particularly love the changes between the ears part... I'm only halfway to goal, but I'm finding that the changes between my ears have such positive benefits in so many areas of my life!

My running watch broke a bit, enough that I can't see the display, but it still works. So all my runs are done by a "go frolic around the woods for a while" approach, but I can see how far I ran after I'm finished. I kind of love it, won't be getting my watch fixed any time soon :)

I had three polyps (1 the harmless kind, 2 precancerous). I was told I would have had colon cancer in a year and been gone in less than 2. The only reason they were caught is because I had been travelling and gotten sick, didn't get better, and they were trying to figure out what went wrong. I was only 27. Colons are…

You may want to think about scheduled maintenance breaks (some call them diet breaks or refeeds). 130 pounds is a long term goal, and scheduling specific breaks during which you eat at maintenance calories can do a world of good for mental health as well as physical health and weightloss. You can learn more at:…

Just signed up for my first 50km! I'm terrified super excited :)

Homemade lasagna for dinner, followed by homemade cake! usually, I count calories (habit) but don't care if I'm over. At some point during the day I also get a giant latte from my favourite local place Happy early birthday!

I'm looking at my first 50k or 50mile in May. I'm a bit cautious to actually sign up and go for it though. But, the original runs I had planned have been moved to the fall so won't work with the other stuff in my life. I'm starting to get fed up with the internal debate haha, guess I'll have to make the decision soon!

Well, that is just absolutely fantastic! and boy that smile makes me smile :)

I definitely second this!

I'd call a physiotherapist, one that works in a sports medicine clinic if possible. Hope you find someone that can help your situation!

5'10 here, started out at 285, currently at 227. I've gone down one set of clothes, but not more than that. Sometimes it feels like I'm just spinning my wheels. Although, I guess I'm saving money not having to replace clothes constantly. I feel better, and I know I'm making progress... but I've definitely felt lonely on…

Bodyfit by Amy on youtube! She has a masters in exercise science as well as a bunch of training credentials. She has a beginners playlist, including chair workouts, in depth how-to, low impact, and more. Her other videos also have a ton of low-impact options. I highly recommend her workouts!

Thanks so much! It really is hard to know what to expect. I didn't expect my arm to get better, then all of the sudden it was like "hey, this looks different"... which was great, and may have led to a day of me poking and prodding and examining my arm haha

I'm a bit taller, 5ft 10, female, 31. I was an athletic kid, then during preteen and early teen years I got larger and larger. I peaked around 240. Lost 30 my last year of high school. Lost more weight the following year. Lost the last bit of 100lbs total loss the following year (20 years old). I was about 140 (which is…

My experience: I lost over 100lbs between ages 17 and 20, and I had no loose skin (even though I had stretch marks). But, I was young, and lost it over time (20 pounds here, 30 pounds there). Unfortunately, life gave me a couple twists and by 25 I started putting it all back on and more (20 pounds here, 30 pounds there).…

I've done it a couple times, I actually enjoyed it, then I got in pretty nasty ski accident that stopped everything for a while and I haven't got back to it. I've also done other yoga DVDs over the years, I've enjoyed them all, but for different reasons. My Dad does DDP every single day, and has for a couple years now. He…

I'm currently taking a university nutrition course, our textbook is "Nutrition: Concepts and Controversies, 4th Canadian Edition, 2018" I found the following quote (pg 24) pretty interesting: "Most people turn to their physicians for dietary advice. Physicians are expected to know all about health-related matters. But only…
