  • That's what the Yonanas was built for! It is exactly like ice cream. Right now, I am picking about a pint of wild black raspberries every day. I freeze them and throw a handful in with the bananas. So good!... and without the 1900 calories in that "single serving" of dark chocolate espresso. ;)
  • MMdoesV! Those 100 calorie cups would be a pile of empties in under an hour. Ice cream is my kryptonite. There can not be more anywhere in the house. 🤣 I know this, but once every year or so I get ice cream amnesia and bring some home. Happily, a great sale on bananas along with a daily 8 pint of fresh picked berries has…
  • Points for participation, but that's a bit like showing up at an AA meeting and announcing, "The way I drink is to pour out exactly 30ml. of whiskey, then put the bottle back in the liquor cabinet. Works for me!" 🤣
  • Hello.

  • And so it begins... Only got about a half pint this morning, but the bushes are full of ripening berries.
  • You had me at "sit." :D
  • Hi Scot. Losing weight will be a huge help. So will exercising to increase your overall muscle strength. Stretching wouldn't go amiss either.
  • I always thought of myself as having been a fat kid. Recently, I came across some old photos of myself. While I wasn't rail thin, I certainly wasn't fat. I was an average looking child who was healthy and active. When I think of all the things I didn't do, the activities I avoided and the connections I didn't make because…
  • Nope. Totally unappealing.
  • That I have to scroll past a half page of MFP announcement posts before getting to the first real thread on the "Recent Discussions" page. 🤣
  • I have a whole wall o' last year's pickles in the larder. Not gonna plant cukes this year. Not gonna plant cukes this year. Not gonna plant cukes this year. < three volunteer cuke seeds sprout > Whoohoo! Gonna have cukes this year!
  • A few weeks is GOOD! Many times I struggle with a single day.
  • I usually come up with ~1200 by the time I add buttered toast and a second egg. :)
  • Hmm... hilling up... < reconsiders cucumbers >

  • Does anyone know what veggie grows well in perpetually wet soil? Seeing the first volunteer tomatoes pop up here and there. I have space in the Rising Damp Zone, but know tomato roots will surely rot there. If that area won't host veggies, I may just move some mint there. Any ideas?

  • Feeling for you. I have bingey days (or more!) where nothing seems to help. While I don't have the answer, here are a few things that help me crawl out of that deep dark hole. Future plans. Binging happens very much in the moment. I want to eat something - anything - NOW. I'm not thinking about the consequences. Devouring…
  • Same here. I grind good quality beans every morning. After drinking heavily sugared coffee all my life, I finally gave up added sugars back in 2020. Good quality beans made all the difference. I still take half & half but very rarely take sugar. It was much easier to simply stop than to incrementally step down.
  • This year, I had so much location work in early spring, I don't have nearly the number of seedlings as usual. My eggplant, pepper, cucumber and dill seeds all failed; so my pepper garden will come courtesy of the local greenhouse. This year's garden: cantaloupe, tomatoes (cherry and beefsteak), green beans, green onions,…

  • Yes! I make my own ketchup from my garden tomatoes. I added wasabi powder and it's pure heaven!

  • I have long loved Skechers and never had any fear buying them online; they always fit perfectly and I could wear them all day. Post-pandemic, the Skechers I ordered no longer felt great. There were tight spots, friction points and sometimes my feet would hurt after a few hours. I'm not sure what happened, but they just…
  • My slips have become slides that have become avalanches. My irresistible bête noire is the unending abundance of tempting food constantly on offer at work... which now includes mandatory 3pm Starbuck's lattes. 😲 This might not be the best way, but MY way is to let myself over-indulge and get thoroughly bored and disgusted…
  • Yes! It's so annoying. I usually just Ctrl + F search the page for 'ingredients' or something like 'cups'. The cups vs. grams is also hyper-annoying when trying to reduce a recipe or ingredient into halves or thirds. I don't want to have to figure out 1/3 of one and a quarter cups in my head. I pretty much ignore online…
  • I just relax and enjoy the experience while eschewing painlessly avoidable extra calories in sugary sodas, juices, pasta, bread, cookies and cake. I like to load up first on things that are filling: dense proteins or sushi. Often my first trip through the buffet is an entire large plate of sushi. Not only does it quickly…
  • Yellow - not butter yellow - but ocher. Whenever I wear any shade of yellow, people ask me if I am feeling ill.
  • Not only should I get to erase the calories, but from the way my tummy muscles feel, I think I'm entitled to 100 sit-ups. 😆
  • Thanks. Sipping Pedialyte and being a total slug all weekend.
  • Wishing you success. I tried WW years ago and have seen far better results (80lb.+ since 2020) here at MFP.
  • Hooray! Happy to report that my home-alone seedlings were all hale and hearty after 9 days. My pepper and eggplant seeds still haven't sprouted; so at this point, I'll just pick up a few greenhouse plants. Of the eight pepper plants I tried to over-winter, it looks like only one has survived. I may give it another go this…
  • Thought about it, but there is really no reason at this point. Most calories will happen at lunch and a shelf stable handful of nuts it or summer sausage will do.
  • The coffee pot is one of those dreadful machines that have a tray with a coffee in what looks like an extra large tea bag. There is no carafe. I'll avoid instant Ramen cups for the empty calories. There is a Thai restaurant nearby with some Hopefully healthy choices.
