I agree with others that you should not worry too much about this right now. And also about slow weight loss, lifting, giving your skin time to catch up after weight loss, etc. That said, I can give you at least one number on how much skin removal procedures might cost, as I have a family member who had some. My partner's…

Do not worry about sugar from fruits leading to problems with weight loss. As long as you are eating less calories than you need to maintain you will lose weight. I personally would try to make sure to get enough protein and fat, too, but if MFP says you ate over your sugar goal and all sugar you ate came from fruits and…

Don't take an iron supplement merely because you are worried. Iron can be really low for some vegetarians or vegans (or also for other reasons) and it is a good idea to get a test done if you are worried even if you don't have symptoms of anaemia (I had no symptoms and was borderline iron deficient nearly a year ago. Test…

In contrast I believe in striving for a closer goal that you feel relatively sure you can achieve and then reevaluating if you want to set a new goal. - I don't like falling short of my goals. It is one of the few things that truly can leave me deflated and too frustrated to easily pick myself up again. So, one step I know…

It's simple. I see my poor body as the victim of my mind. Pretty sure it only gained weight because my mind told it to eat too much and not move. So, I don't hate my body for being mistreated for so long. That's not fair on it. It held up pretty well despite that, actually. I am working on not hating my mind. And on…

I drink diet sodas, and I add non-sugar sweetener to my oatmeal and sometimes hot chocolate (when I have cals to spare I use date paste instead. Love the stuff). That's about it, really.

Hummus. Especially caramelised onion hummus. - Sadly less protein than I thought. Different nut butters with sliced fresh fruit. Almond butter + apple slices is great. Crushed avocado, garlic salt, sliced fresh tomatoes. If you have fresh basil, add that, too. Yoghurt (in my case, dairy free yoghurt) mixed with herbs,…

Feel free to add me. I have been logging daily for more than half a year now.

I honestly don't mind if anybody asks how much I lost, because I am more than happy to brag a bit if somebody seems honestly interested. I went to the Doctor recently and he said "you lost quite a bit of weight!" and yeah, true. That was the plan and I am not done yet. If people say that I look good my only worry is that I…

Kale chips taste good! Smoothies can be quite ridiculous calorie bombs. Hummus does have less protein than I thought it did.

Oh yeah, I take B12, too. Because Vegan. I just don't even think about that one anymore. Oh, it's still far too warm. I'd like some rain and more autumn-y weather now, please.

I take iron, as I was borderline deficient the beginning of last year. Would only recommend that one if you really need it.

Your doctor is wrong that you cannot do this. Yes, he has probably seen many oeople who did not manage, as @lorrpb and @cwolfman13 pointed out, but there is a significant difference between "this is going to be hard, and many people don't stick to what is needed to succeed." and "this is impossible." I'd probably do my…

Great Mercury Island just a bit off the coast of mainland NZ. - The island itself is just "ok" (very green, many sheep, nearly no people) but I never have seen so, so many stars at night because there is basically no light pollution. I want to go back just for the star gazing, even IF that place gave me the worst hay fever…

Cool idea, but what would the first person in the thread be doing?

It's all right, no need to panic. Losing weight can be a bit hit and miss till you iron out any problems, and even after that can sometimes feel like a roller coaster. How do you calculate your calories? Do you log everything, weighing any solids and using measuring spoons and cups only for liquids? - Inaccurate measuring…

Coco Why do I end up crying at PIXAR movies even after I watched them several times?

I (a German) assumed for the longest time that English "v" and "w" are basically the same letter when it comes to pronunciation. That's because, to me, they sound like minor variations on the same thing. (Minor variations so minor I only notice sometimes if I pay active attention.) My partner (a native English speaker)…

Same. I'd also like to be told if I use the wrong words. English is not my first language and sometimes I make stupid mistakes. But nobody told me that "lose" only has one "o", because apparently helping me improve my language skills goes against the rules here. I had to figure it out myself, realise the difference between…

There we go. 🙂🥳

You are struggling and not in a good space, emotionally. And, there is probably nothing I, a stranger on a screen in another country, can say to fix this. Please be aware, though, that finding a therapist, psychiatrist, and medication that works for you can take time. Sadly the first (or even third) of either may not be…

Hey there. You can do this! That said, if it feels "brutal" you may have problems sticking with it. What are the things you expect to have the biggest problems with?
-
What the first two comments said! But, also, for me making my breakfast into chocolaty oatmeal ( with cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and sweetener) does a lot for not needing more chocolate throughout the day. Also, eating other, healthier sweet stuff (fruits) somewhat combats the cravings for sugar.

Maintenance is hard. I think most people have to lose weight at least twice, because the first time nothing truly prepares them for maintanance and that it still is work. So, don't feel like a failure. You are giving weight loss another shot. You probably learned a lit last time and over the last years you can apply to…

Same, right now. I am so close I can smell it.

"Chicken" Buritos! I usually use a different chicken substitute for that, but Quorn chicken pieces should work, too. A simple dish is making a pasta dish with pre-made tomato based pasta sauce, some veggie mince, garlic and onions, and pasta of your choosing. As cooking goes slightly frying some onions and garlic, throwing…

I love the elliptical, but hate the stationary bike. You are not alone in haying only certain stationary exercise machines.

Well, I think you should do whatever works for you, personally, in the long run. If that means you need to overeat once a week, ok. Well, for weight loss, in my opinion it is ok to eat more than what MFP has set as a goal for you whenever you want to with the caveat that you still track what you are eating and keep an eye…

But you are doing it. - And grad school! Honestly, I did not know if I should press the "Hug" or "Inspiring" button.
