I got a birdie walk today π My knee and calf are aching like mad though. The swelling has travelled to my ankle. I got a Chinese medicinal patch and have taken a painkiller in hopes of easing the discomfort until I see the doc. I was working at home all day but went out at 5 o'clock and did some shopping along the way. Iβ¦

BodyTalking Steps 26May-01Jun Total 48,086 S 3060 M 8445 T 5532 W 6011 T 12177 F 4581 S 8280 My knee has been swollen and stiff this week. I made myself walk a few times when all I wanted to do was lie down and take the weight off it. I went for a Β½ hour cycle today. I had to raise the saddle because my knee was too stiff.β¦

Time is flying too fast πΈ I know the oldies used to say it, but come on, even the young ones are saying it now. Did someone flip a switch somewhere?

I'm 53, had been doing fairly well, hovering around the 80 kilo mark, but have recently watched the scales go up again and can't get on the downward slide π Anyway, I'm still working out what my blockages are and how to overcome my personal obstacles. I know I can do it and know it takes time. I'm a teacher of English as aβ¦

Hi and welcome to the team. Apart from the triathlete part, we're in a similar situation. I'm 53 and live in the Czech Republic and, other than with students and my husband, I don't mingle much due to the language. I had a better network of expats before covid but don't feel like getting back to that. I live near a goodβ¦

Thanks @jugar π Although I'm not seeing much progress, I have developed a few consistencies like drinking water throughout the day and green tea with meals, I don't eat breakfast/lunch until I feel ready (I don't say this is healthy, it's just what feels natural to me), I started putting some nuts & dried fruit into littleβ¦

Well done ππ @andja87 That's great and you look so fit and proud! Thanks @Emilienewme I'd been thinking about it for a long time, downloaded the hire bike apps last year, bought a helmet last week and plucked up the courage to just try it. You should go for it too! I suggest going at a quiet time so that there aren't asβ¦

Well done to all of you who stuck with the challenge and have improved yourselves by doing so. I've improved in some ways, getting more active, and continue to eat fairly well. I still need to do the general exercises on a more regular basis. Unfortunately, my weight has gone up and, if I took after pictures, they wouldn'tβ¦

π΄ββοΈβπ§οΈβπ¬π«ππ§βπ€βπ§π°π A rainy day meant that I could go to the park and enjoy being on a bike without all those pesky people π I felt much more confident today and found myself smiling every now and again as I picked up speed and kept a straight line.

@ljdanny I bought Skechers i-conik trainers last month and they are perfect. I hope your new sneakers help with your back problems xx

Thanks @minstrelofsarcasm π I feel fine, it was an intrepid 'gently does it' type of a ride. I'm just glad that I had the courage to get on and stay on. I think I'll get some elbow pads as well because it felt like it would only be a matter of time before I took a tumble.

π¬ 30+ years since I've been on a bike! But, I did it, rather wobbly at first and overly careful π The obstacles that came my way were like out of a slap-stick comedy, such as a football rolling in front of me and a little boy chasing it π Anyway, it was all in slow motion and no-one was hurt.
