  • Great news Steve. Hope you have many more good days ahead. I got good news today my thyroid biopsy was benign.
  • It sure has been a quiet week. Hope everyone is doing well and progressing on your personal goals. I was beginning to think my tablet had frozen and I couldn't see new posts.
  • Had my thyroid biopsy yesterday and I must admit it wasn't a bad proceedure. Should get results next week. I'm not worried as 95 percent are not malignant. Which hopefully just means watch and evaluate.
  • Steve, so glad the news is better for you both .
  • For all of you who responded to my tale of the VA and my husband's agent Orange claim we have good news. He was just awarded a claim and it's done a lot for his mental state that vets are not just forgotten. Thanks for your support. For all of you who served I send my thanks.
  • Hope you are all planning a great weekend. California is once again burning and the air quality is unhealthy so we stay in but are not near the fires. It seems this is our new norm and so much loss for so many. Hope you are all safe from the havoc of nature.
  • Great article! Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
  • Good point of view regarding Apple cider vinegar. I thought it might be that my stomach was so upset I couldn't eat for two days. Lol
  • Just curious I have a friend (not on here) who has lost 40 lbs and swears it's the Apple cider vinegar she drinks every night. Claims she drops a pound a day. I finally succumbed and tried it a few days and all I got was a stomachache. I know there is no quick fix but an experiment non the less. Any one ever tried this?…
  • What a cutie. Grandchildren are such a gift from God.
  • Go Rich! That regaining of strength is a great benefit to weight loss as that needs to be a part of it especially as we get older. As for me, I don't want to be a frail looking old lady just a healthy smaller one. Keep up the good work!
  • So much support. From this group. Weight is just one common struggle for all of us but we all have other struggles too and everyone is so helpful. You are never alone. Lots of prayers and well wishes to you all. I've dealt with dementia for seven years with my mom and now early stages with my husband of 46 years and for me…
  • Let's all kick off the week with positivity and have a productive week. My friend always tells me to " eat the elephant one bite at a time" which is good for many things that seem overwhelming like weight loss. Have a great week everyone. Welcome Sally to a group of encouraging friends.
  • Ann That is the same surgery I had and it got better daily. I did have to have follow up injections because I developed macular swelling but they were no big deal. Take it easy and keeps us posted. Steve, so sorry to hear your wife is struggling with the emotional aspect of what she is going through. Prayers are with you.…
  • Not Ann you sure made me tired. Good job on keeping moving. My big activity was shampooing area rug and cleaning the hard wood floors lol. At least I didn't sit and read all day. It's so hot still I can't seem to get motivated to get my exercise routine back on track. My go to is walking on my treadmill and yoga so I can…
  • I was so relieved to read this discussion. I have two thyroid masses to be biopsied and was concerned about how it might affect my weight loss goal. I've lost 12 lbs but have 20 to go. Glad to see if worst case happens and I have thyroid removed I can continue to work on weight with success. I know my weight is not because…
  • Saw doctor today. I'm feeling like an old car. One thing breaks down at a time. I have two large masses on my thyroid which now have to be biopsied to see what's up. He said I might have to have thyroid removed which can't help weight loss much. Prayers appreciated. My husband and I can't have issues at same time, it's…
  • For those of you dealing with VA. We are not going through a service organization (probably should have) but now they have all his medical records from Dr and the 11 lbs of records we sent. He had his VA appointment and the Dr approved several different things on c!aim so now it's wait and see. Thanks to all for your…
  • Steve, glad your wife is home. Lean on us we are here when you need a place to vent. Prayers for you both.
  • Lots of luck with the VA. My husband is in the midst of claims from agent Orange and it's an ongoing series of lost paperwork. He has had kidney cancer as well as now an undiagnosable neurological disorders the fun just keeps on going. Best wishes.
  • I too am a slow learner. Logging and measuring works for me but when I stop I gain it back twice as fast as I lost it. Tired of the same 30 lbs over and over. Good thing we keep trying and never give up. I seem to have a magic point where I won't go over which is good or that 30 would keep growing. This site helps so much!…
  • Hope you are all getting ready for the week ahead. Let's all attack this battle of weight with gusto and check in next week with good results. I have been using both Nivea and NatureWell collagen for all over moisture and they have worked well on my very dry skin and are inexpensive on Amazon. Also, my dermatologist told…
  • Don't forget along with tracking its important to measure things. I'm good at looking at things and underestimating the portion size...welcome back
  • Good morning all. Hope you all have a lovely, healthy weekend. Whatever your struggle don't let it steal your joy. I know for me I do so much better when I remember I am more than what I weigh. 💖
  • I have really fallen off the wagon this past couple of weeks. I just seem to get tired of the constant struggle so just need to do as I always say and "suck it up buttercup" and move on. It should be some easier as my husband now needs to drop 12 lbs which is a new thing for him. Thanks for letting me vent. Hope you are…
  • Cathy, keep the faith. I know you can do it! We all drive through pity city sometimes. Break the speed trap, pedal to the metal. You are not alone we are with you.
  • Steve, so glad chemo is working. We are in the middle of heat wave here (106 now) so just trying to stay cool. Cooking is not going to happen so it's microwave for next few days. Hope you all are staying focused and on your way to achieving your goals. Telling myself it's a journey not a race.
  • I have been reading Eat this Not That on my tablet. It has some good ideas and helps me with motivation. I like comparing different articles and always take the advice with a cautious approach. I am a fan of intermittent fasting (16/8) which has helped me stop night time snacking.Be gentle with yourself.😊
  • Just back from two week vacation in Branson and Iowa. Celebrating no weight gain which for me is a win. So sorry about your husband's problem and praying for you. Life with medical problems makes things so much harder. I deal with my husband's undiagnosable neurological disease by trying to be in control of the things I…
  • Found a new low calorie treat. Costco has mint chip yogurt ice cream bars that don't bust my plan so I can have a great when my husband has dessert. All you with your exercise spur me on to move more. Turning 74 in the 13th and want to be able to up my walking from 2 miles to 3 moving toward my ultimate goal of 5. I walk…
