Getting back on track today, July 30, after family visits. Hoping to be back under 150 before the cruise in October. Today's weight is 159.6.

  • Fabulous quote, and I love how you staged your current photo to match up with your old one. In addition to the belly being gone, your skin looks so much healthier. The inflammation flush is gone in your face. Congratulations on a job well done!! Glad you took time to post the resuts.
  • This morning I put on my Summer yoga pants from last year, and they look like pajama bottoms. They stay on, but only barely. Hard to believe they fit tight a year ago. I'm still not used to being this small around. @JenKindo I love your Amazon comment...I was wishing there was a way to reset my sizes, but now I'll look at…
  • I spent last week at home on the couch because of a cold, but yesterday I went back to the gym. That's an NSV in itself, but the real one is this: my first thought when I walked in the gym was, "It feels good be MYSELF again!" I love that my true vision of myself now includes going to the gym. I truly don't feel like me…
  • That's fantastic!! You must have great all day with that shirt tucked in. Yay!
  • What a happy post! It's actually kinda neat that the photos are out of order because you can REALLY see which ones are before vs. after. Your hands are amazing!! If I were in your shoes I'd probably spend the whole hand looking at them in wonder. I hope you can get all your pretty rings resized to wear again. Meanwhile the…
  • My husband bought a 50lb sandbag for his workout group, and I was able to lift it. I couldn't get it over my head, but I could pull it up to my chest from where he was holding it at hip level without using my legs. This time last year, that bag would have hit the floor as soon as my husband let go. Progress!! Edited to add…
  • My inspiration was very simple. In 2020, I turned 50 and didn't like what I saw in the mirror or how I felt in my body. I didn't have any diagnosed health problems (yet), but I felt OLD and frumpy and hopeless about it ever getting better. I was so stiff in the mornings that I had to grip the stair rail with both hands to…
  • Wow, I wouldn't have realized it was the same person!! Amazing transformation. Congratulations!
  • I got up the nerve to try jumping on the boxes at the gym. As much weight lifting as I've done, I've still been afraid to try any of the agility type exercises for fear I'd fall or hurt myself. But I did it and I was able to jump up with both feet. Sure it was the shortest box, but I jumped and didn't die or end up in the…
  • You've gotten some good advice about making small changes instead of trying to manage everything at once. So I'll just add this idea: start by not changing anything initially. Instead, gather infromation about what you're already doing by logging every bite that goes in your mouth without trying to be perfect and super…
  • I'm having the same issue as the rest of you. Very frustrating, especially not seeing my feed! Hope they get it fixed soon.
  • @springlering62 ...I'm in the same boat about having multiple wardrobes because I kept thinking I wouldn't get any smaller!! One thing I wish somebody had told me about losing weight is to NOT buy a new wardrobe immediately upon hitting what you THINK is your goal weight. Instead, just treat it like you did the interim…
  • I'm starting to feel more comfortable with maintenance now that I've started looking at my weekly stats instead of the daily ones. As long as I keep my Weekly Net Average in the vicinity of my calorie budget, I'm able to let my hunger (and my mood) guide my choices. Like today I wanted a Meatball Hoagie that was way over…
  • My goal is to go to the gym twelve times in February and learn how to use their app to log my workouts.
  • What an inspiring post! I love your attitude. You're off to a great start.
  • I've always fit Lee Jeans best regardless of weight, so I own them in many sizes. When I started losing weight in Jan2021, I wore a tight 12. Today I put on a brand new size 4, and it fit perfectly. At age 51yrs, this is the lowest size I've ever worn in these jeans, and it's not just vanity sizing because they're smaller…
  • Good for you!! You look fabulous!!
  • I've been digging through photos today at my trainer's request. I didn't think my face had changed because I have round cheeks at any weight. But looking at the pictures, I do think there's some difference. 185 lbs... 145 lbs...
  • 185 lbs to 145 lbs I'm 51yrs old, and this is the first year in decades that Lose Weight is NOT one of my New Year's resolutions. In addition to MFP, I've focused on strength training 3x/wk with some cardio sprinkled in as the mood strikes.
  • Feeling genuinely HAPPY to be back in the gym after the holidays eating my normal foods again. Also a blessing that I'm NOT in New Year's Resolution Mode about my weight this year. I like how I look, and I love how I feel. This time last year I was a hot mess. What a difference a year makes!
  • Thought of another one...I've been oddly squirrelly about the scale since I've been in maintenance. Far more so than I was while losing. I guess I'm still afraid I'll somehow slip and gain everything back if I'm not hypervigilant. It's not a good headspace to live that way, so I deliberately tried to let it all go while I…
  • My mom surprised me with some Christmas cash, and everything I wanted to buy was fitness related.
  • Flavored popcorn has always been kryptonite for me, especially this time of year when they sell those giant decorative tins of it. But, today I decided to face it head on and bought a small tin. What worked for me is weighing out ONE portion to munch on all evening and putting that portion in a small bowl next to the…
  • Ignoring my macros!! I'm in the mood to eat junk, but I don't want to go over my calories right now since I have a family visit coming soon when I KNOW I'll want to splurge. So instead, I gave myself permission today to eat anything I want as long as it fits in my calories. Usually I'm a stickler for hitting my macros, so…
  • I love the wholesome tiredness I feel after working out. It's so different from the blah tiredness I used to live in all the time.
  • I made myself a handknit sweater a few years ago that I wear all the time in the Winter. It's my favorite color and style, and I love everything about it except one thing: I made the sleeves about an inch too short. It's not noticeable to other people, but it's always bugged me. I could fix them, but I'd have to unravel…
  • Bumping this thread because it always inspires me to see what works for people.... So, what worked for me today was figuring out a good system to lug all my stuff to the gym to swim laps. The "hassle hurdle" has been my biggest obstacle in swimming regularly, but I think I've gotten myself sorted out. My too-big yoga pants…
  • @JustRamona ...such a WONDERFUL feeling!! @wunderkindking ....it's amazing the things we used to think were normal, isn't it? Solid sleep with no pain--that's gotta be a MAJOR gamechanger in your life. @gatzb ...how cool that you have found something you love to do so much!
  • Tonight I got down on the kitchen floor and scrubbed the whole thing clean. A year and +37lbs ago, it wouldn't even have occurred to me to do that because it was too hard to get up. So my blessing for today is the fresh energy and extra agility I have now that I once thought I'd never have again. I'm incredibly grateful…
  • I've been doing maintenance for the last two months with pretty good results overall. But this week I went up a pound and couldn't figure out why. I waited and did all the usual things, but the pound remained. So today I pulled out the measuring tape. The waist/hips areas are smaller than they've ever been while the muscle…
