  • Thanks, everyone, for a great month of March! I ran 218.6 miles and lost a few lbs! My race on 4/3 went better than expected: I ran the Carmel Half in 1:31:20 for a 4:51 PR! Have a great April!
  • @Scott6255 So far the shoes feel great and I have no doubt they make me more efficient than when I wear regular shoes. They are also "rockers", they have a nice roll to them. The Saucony Shift also have this feature, but without the carbon fiber. Those go for $140 I believe. I'll let you know how the race goes and give…
  • @quilteryoyo -- I have only run the AF Half once, I paced it in 2019 and will be pacing the 2:00 half again this year! It's an awesome race. There's a cool flyover and fireworks at the beginning. Good but tough course -- a nice 1/2 mile or so hill waiting for you around mile 9! It's also typically hot, sometimes very hot…

Had a great 10x400m workout Tuesday, with my fastest splits yet. I splurged on some Saucony Endorphin Pros that I'm going to use for the Carmel Half Marathon. They are…
  • Update: So far, I have lost about 5.1 lbs (196.2 down to 191.1). I did not expect to lose weight this fast, while still eating a lot (2,300-2,800 calories/day). I guess I must have really been overdoing it before haha. I had a great 12x400 meter workout yesterday (60 second rest breaks), which felt surprisingly good for…
  • Hi @Scott6255 , have you tried using Strassburg socks? I had a very painful bout with PF a few years ago and sleeping in those socks made a world of difference. I've been pain free now for quite a while (knock on wood!).
  • My goal this month is to lose weight while successfully training for a half marathon on 4/3. I've run many halfs and a half dozen full marathons in the past, and always gain weight while training. This time, I'm counting calories and being conscious of my diet, hoping to curb that trend. So far, I have lost about 3.1 lbs…
