March 1 – Exercise Bike + Strength training
March 2 – 5.07 miles
Switched up M/W run for T/Th this week because it was pouring rain yesterday morning.
Love the headband @rheddmobile!
My interpretation of user names matches up what to everyone else perceived. I’m one of the non-creative people. What about @hanlonsk? No idea on that one! @TheMrWobbly is one of my favs! Reminds me of a commercial for weebles - their motto was weebles wobble but they don't fall down. Anyone else remember that one? @AlphaHowls is very well suited since she dominates the running mileage. I can just see her running along howling into the sky!

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!
I got a job - started yesterday - it’s remote and guess what, I cannot. Stand. Zoom.
A lot of the time, I am waiting for other people to get access to files and watching them learn how to do it.
I am still gunning for another position that’s much better - I heard from them yesterday and it sounds like there are a lot of moving parts on their end. Just waiting. Have a dinner interview Thursday for a Controller position with another company.
I’m grateful to be earning money again, either way.
I have a LIVE race this weekend! It’s the ozark highlands 50k and the course looks like chump change compared to what i have been running. We’ll see, though. Race previews and course descriptions can be deceiving. I’ve had so much to do to prepare - and still so much more, but i am so excited. My coach says he thinks i can perform really well, which is great, but it also adds pressure. I also shouldn’t have looked at top performers’ times for 2020.
Feb total was 232.17 - down from January but it was a short month and i needed some down weeks.
Kids are okay - teenager is still a teenager 😬
Son is doing well also. Mostly.
Still waking at 4am to train.
I am 36 tomorrow. Grateful to still be here and to have made another trip around the sun.
I miss you all. Gotta go - looks like the zoom meeting is reconvening due to everyone NOT being able to get access to the files they need lmao 😂11 -

I always assumed @quilteryoyo was one of those mad keen quilters, but apparently not so much...
With @polska_girl I think polka dancing rather than Polish person...
And I always read @noblsheep as Noble Sheep and picture a very dignified sheep!
Wait @noblesheep isn't noble sheep??
I agree with the other two. @rheddmobile always makes me think of red cellphone (mobile phone)
@runs_on_espresso is nice and easy
My name is a very old username I've always used. Avid is a type of video editing software and keo are my initials. So boring haha1 -
So 5k run done this morning and I'm about to cycle to work. Whew lots of stuff. Nothing exciting.
I'm doing the Hal Intermediate plan and I thought I'd be getting more runs at race pace but atm they are all base runs? I paid for premium so it's supposed to update as I go along. Will see what happens over the next few weeks I guess.4 -
Happy Birthday tomorrow @Camaramandy648!!! You have been busy, and so glad to hear you (at least) have a job and exciting that you have better prospects in the works.1

4/45 miles
3/2: 4 miles
Absolutely beautiful day here. Sunny and upper 50's at lunch time when I headed out. One of the nicest things about my days working from home is getting to wait for the weather to get nice before I head out.
Happy birthday @Camaramandy648 I am glad to hear things are looking better for you.
I really need to know the origin of @noblsheep now because I already read it as Noble Sheep too! My username is boring but easy because so few people spell their name like mine, so it is usually available.
And, welcome to the new people. Some good goals there!2 -
Rheddmobile is actually the name MFP picked for me based on my registering from my husband’s mobile phone - my husband’s usual online identity is Rhedd, aka Red, since he has red hair. I couldn’t be bothered to change what they gave me since I didn’t expect to be social on the platform, and by the time I knew differently, people already knew me under that name. We are pretty used to being addressed as a couple online since we work professionally on video game art as a couple, so it wasn’t a huge leap from “Rhedd and Allie” (which is also an online identity, short for Allerleirauh, and not my name) to just Rhedd. There are still certain corners of the internet where we get asked, are you THAT Rhedd and Allie? The one who made the hair and the faces for such and such a game? Yes, my husband is THAT Rhedd and and I THAT Allie.
I also thought of Noblsheep as a very fine and large sheep. We used to own a sheep and he was awful. However, many sheep are quite dignified beings. Tramboman made me wonder. Quilteryoyo, I have an unfinished yo-yo quilt myself so I figured it was something to do with that.3 -
@Teresa502 I agree with you on @TheMrWobbly and @AlphaHowls ! I do remember the weebles. Just like @TheMrWobbly they never stay down! I think I usually read @hanlonsk as Hand lon - or loan. So someone who lends a hand? Also I always read "camera" when I see @Camaramandy648 so someone who takes pictures.
@Camaramandy648 Happy Birthday! Yeah for the new job and other opportunities to pursue. Yeah for the in person race. You'll kill it.
@Avidkeo I always think of someone who is enthusiastic or intense when I read your name.
@martaindale I do often picture a martingale bird when I read your name.
@rheddmobile I did quilt and have an unfinished one, but have never made a yo-yo quilt. The yo-yo part of my name is based on how my weight goes up and down and up and down, like a yo-yo. Hopefully, it is broken and stuck in the down position.5 -
3/1 - 2.75 miles - 3.6 mph - Treadmill walk
3/2 - 2.00 miles - 3.6 mph - Treadmill walk
March total: 4.75/62 miles
I went down and did another treadmill walk this morning, before going to the cardiologist. I knew it would be really hard for me to do it after I got home. I did another ladder - today from 3.5 - 3.8 - 3.5 mph - five minutes at each level.
The cardiologist appointment went well. He is of the opinion that my body is getting back to it's pre-operation "normal," so my HR is low because of the extra blood pressure medicine I am taking. He told me to stop it, keep track of my HR and blood pressure, and, as long as at resting it isn't over 90, I should be okay. He did say if I get dizzy/feel faint again, to give him a call and he'll order a Holter Monitor. He doesn't expect that to happen. He really thinks I'm just getting better and removing that one medicine will take care of any issues I am having.
He said I should be fine to start running on Thursday, as long as I take it easy. He said when I am 3 months out from surgery that I should be able to go for it and run as much and has hard as I want.
And, my cousin did get dismissed from the hospital today and is back at the assisted living facility. So, it's been a good day all around.10 -
Yes, my name is pretty self-explanatory LOL
4 miles this morning plus took the dog for a short walk this afternoon.5 -
March Goal: Hike/Run the "D's" and "E's"*
3/1 off
3/2 2.50 DjiboutiRube that I am, I'd never even heard of this place before. It was enchanting!
Total 2.50
Happy (late)birthday @kirstymn, and congrats to @Camaramandy648 and great news @quilteryoyo
*So, my 2021 resolution is to hike/run all 193 (or 195 depending on your source) countries of the world this year. This could be difficult, since I don’t have a passport. But YouTube to the rescue! I have been using the site to take train “trips” recently, and have found them strangely motivating. Why not use Youtube vlogs to hike/run the world (and learn something about each country)?

Both adjectives apply well to me lol2 -
March Goal: 100 Miles
3/1: 1.32 miles
3/2: 5.32 miles
6.64/100 miles completed for March
It was a little chilly at about 35°F this morning. But it wasn't raining and I was dressed well. I ran 5.3 miles. It was a mostly uneventful, but nice run.
I thought similar things about most of the user names. I did think that @avidkeo might have something to do with video games. And for some reason I thought that @rheddmobile might be from Alabama even though I know she's in Tennessee.
Happy Birthday @camaramandy648! And congrats on the new job!

Happy birthday @Camaramandy648 - I always get Carmen Miranda with her fabulous fruity hats when I read your name!

Happy Birthday @Camaramandy648! Congrats on the job.
Glad your appointment went well, @quilteryoyo!
Worked late yesterday, then worked more when I got home, so no running last night. Today is supposed to be a rest day, so I will try to do yesterday’s workout tonight. One more day of being on call...3 -
3-1 7k slow
3-2 7k easy
3-3 7k easy
March Total: 21k
March Goal: 150k
Sunny, low 30s F, and a light breeze from the southwest today. Heard what sounded like southern robins, but didn't see any. Spring robins and chipmunks can't be counted unless both my wife and I see them.
When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?
PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)6 -
8/45 miles
3/2: 4 miles
3/3: 4 miles
It was 40 F this morning and I love it. I have decided that 40's - low 50's is my favorite running weather. It is hard to get up in the morning and go out in the cold, but once I am out, I'm good. This is definitely the end of the cold for us here in Houston. March is even pushing it a little. So, I have to enjoy it for the next few weeks. Before long it will be 80F by 7am and I'll be back to struggling through a few miles wearing as little as possible. Already dreading it.7 -
3/1-2.25
3/2-3
3/3-2.5
March Goal-7.75/60
2021 Goal-146.25/634 miles
January-81 miles
February-54.5 Miles4 -

Amen sister!!!!2 -
Run group Tuesday night took a lot out of me, LOL. I think I even dreamed I was fighting to keep up with those girls. Took a rest day today, and definitely counted last night as my speedwork for the week. I wonder if I'll acclimate to their paces over time, or if it will always be that hard when they go that pace.
I did get my bike out for the first time this year, but not for a workout - just to go pick up a package with my daughter, with a short detour around the neighborhood.9 -

3/1 - 2.75 miles - 3.6 mph - Treadmill walk
3/2 - 2.00 miles - 3.6 mph - Treadmill walk
3/3 - 2.00 miles - 3.5 mph - Driveway laps
March total: 6.75/62 miles
I took Tippy for a stroll into the neighbor's field and then did my fast walk on the driveway. It's really nice outside today - 57°F and not a cloud in the sky.6 -
4.65 this morning. Speed work. did 600mx8. did not hit goal paces for most. I was tired. Realized halfway through that I forgot to eat something (except a cup of coffee) so that did not help. Oh well, I got out and did something!9

I’m back for a new month! February was a bad month for me overall, but I want to give it a good go this month!
The stresses of college really caught up to me and my body, so I’m looking forward to getting back into shape
My goal for this month is to go 15 miles on runs/walks/hikes while also improving my diet9 -
The photos from Sunday’s Winter off road 10k are in. I’m so envious of people doing in-person races! But my New Year’s Resolution was not to get impatient and stop taking precautions too early, and I’m still a high-risk person and there were way too many people in one place at one time. But still it looks like they had fun. I’m trying to live vicariously by looking at the photos and planning my own private series on the same courses - planning to run this course tomorrow.
Anyway, I was talking about how muddy this course was when I previewed it Monday. So I put together a little collage of mud photos from the official race for everyone’s appreciation!
I think the woman carrying her shoes is winning it!
The kids with their shoes taped to their ankles are funny because I recognize one of these kids from last year - he was running right in front of us, charged into the Bog of Eternal Stench, and about twenty yards in, started shouting, “MY SHOES! Where are my shoes? Both my shoes are gone!” Based on the uncropped photo, it looks like he, his brother and his dad, all decided to be proactive and just tape their shoes in place.
The guy leaning on the trailer was 3rd overall with a mile time less than 7 minutes, just amazing on this course. Even more amazing considering that he seems to have ended up on his rear end at some point!9
