I don't get it....why can't you eat bread while losing weight?
-
saccharides are saccharides...the source of the carb doesn't make a difference in terms of weight loss. In the end they are all still 4 calories per gram of carb.
-
This is exactly why you should always count them. I've never understood why people think veggies are just free carbs they don't have to count...a calories is a calorie no matter where it comes from and if you go over with them, it'll kill your weight loss goals

They are calories...why wouldn't you count them?

ice cream and pop tarts, it keeps me sane

just so you know, more smaller portion meals throughout the day doesn't speed your metabolism up.

posting for Acg67...or the "guy with the 6 pack" http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20060310/study-cla-doesnt-keep-pounds-off "Researchers found that obese people who took the supplement for one year did not lose any more weight than those who took a placebo."

the first comment was true...but the second was false. Calorie deficit = weight loss. Cardio can be supplemented in to help put you in that deficit but it's not needed.

If It Fits Your Macros...eat it. It's that simple. I eat any type of food I want, no matter what it is as long as it fits in my daily limit of carbs, fats and protein. Been doing this since I started my diet, I'm down 28lbs and love dieting. The main reason people can't stick to their diet is because they get bored with it…

No matter what you do, you're going to die in the end. Why not enjoy your life. If you are active, working out and not obese, eat some sugar.

in on roll bread

Carbs. If I have a really hard workout coming up, like a max effort squat or deadlift day, I'll normally eat a majority of my carbs for the day about an hour and a half before going to the gym.

Either drink whatever you want and fit them in to your macros or just drink and have fun. One night throwing yourself off won't destroy your goals http://www.beerandcarbs.com/faq.htm

Looking great!!!

I think .5 a pound a week is already slow enough. I normally go with around 1lb a week

When you stop lifting weights your activity level will drop...meaning that if you don't either lower the amount of calories you take in, or do something else to make up for the energy you burned while lifting weights, it is possible that you can gain weight back. If you keep yourself in a deficit, you can continue to lose…

as stated before, you can't build muscle while in a calorie deficit. If you want to retain LBM while trying to lose fat, you need to slow down the rate at which you lose weight while taking advantage of resistance training. The more you eat, while still under your calorie maintenance, together with weight training, will…

Some people will never learn, man. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17536194 "The pattern of nutrient and hormonal response was similar for a given subject to each of the 3 meals [(1) Fast-food meal consisting of a burger, French fries and root beer sweetened with high fructose corn syrup; (2) an organic beef meal…

If you stay in a calorie deficit, no.

I 100% agree with Sidesteal on both statements. Best post in this thread.

Tell her to start lifting weights. Resistance training together with a little bit more food will help her build some muscle.

Dumb claim. A heart surgeon isn't a nutritionist or dietician. Should I listen to my dentist about nutrition too? I mean he has seen plenty of people with bad teeth "due to their eating habits". As far as the "researchers" claim...I've seen him endorse so many products and make some pretty ridiculous claim for things that…
