That's amazing! Congratulations in your weight loss and on some non-food reward. I aspire to that!

This is super inspiring. Go, girl!

Good for you! What a life-changing loss.

My husband -- who is not fit but likes to work out sometimes -- often strives to be sore after a workout. He is always telling me that this means he's gotten a good workout. This is a misconception. Soreness does not always equate with an exceptional workout. However, in my husband's case, he had always felt sore following…

Way before I had kids, I learned that 9-10 hours was what my body needs to be peak. However, in the last nine years I get about 6 hours. I always aim for 8, but rarely am able to reach that because after my kids go to bed I often need to unwind. And then we get up for school...Maybe I can get 8 hours once my kids are grown.

Yeah, making time for ourselves is not easy, especially when we are parents or caregivers, or even in relationships of other kinds. It seems to be a struggle. It takes practice. I have found that I ~must~ make that time or else I am not my best. Even 10 minutes of conscious "me" time can make a difference in how I feel and…

Hi, @kellie_erin. I hear that a lot of adults struggle to make friends. I actually had a difficult time making friends as a kid. But as an adult, I am really thiving in the friendship department. In fact, during the last two years I have more friends than I have ever had in my life -- and GOOD friends, too: the kind that…

Wow, @DD265! Great job logging! Jenn

I am winding down my Sunday now. A tiny triumph for me is getting in just a little more movement. A challenge right now is drinking enough water...although, I am focused on drinking more water and have been, at least, drinking more than I usually do. Jenn

Hi, @EvMakesChanges! Finding that "middle of the road" mentality has been a particular struggle for me. I have an "extreme" personality, which I have been tempering since I become a mother 9 years ago; I discover that extreme approaches to situations are just not sustainable or authentic, especially as I age. But the…

Hi, Courtney @PlaneMonkey! I also shifted to remote work and found that I do not get as many steps in or burn as many calories now. I made the move back in 2015 when I became a single mom. Working remotely helped me to manage my life! But now...to manage my weight... Jenn

PW: 145.6 CW: 143.6 (Whoa! I am not expecting to see that big of a loss again any time soon. I am a very slow loser, generally.) 1/4: 1 hour and 16 minutes of yoga + 21 minutes of walking + 4143 steps

I hope that you feel much better soon, @lonestarbabe! Jenn

Hi, Kristi @conleywoods! Great to meet you. I lived in WA for four years: Seattle. I remember one day we got a dusting of snow there. I have never seen anything like it before or since -- it was absolute mayhem! Chains on tires, people skidding off the road, so many accidents. I have spent most of my life living in MA and…

Ooooh, yum, Sam @happimess01! These are just what I need. When are you delivering them to my house? :D

@waifer003 What a beautiful photo! We've got the freezing temperatures here in Massachusetts USA, but no snow to speak of yet, which makes me sad. Jenn
-
@jugar: really cold here, too, in Massachusetts USA. But I took the dog out for an abbreviated walk by the lake. The ice spooked her a bit. Stay warm! Jenn

What a journey, @Gidgitgoescrazy! I was so glad to read that your pain is mostly gone now. What a relief! Jenn

@ashleycarole86 I am doing the step challenge. I've given all already, except yesterday and today. As far as a step goal goes, I am really not sure; it's not going to be big! Maybe 4,000 per day? That would be significant for me. Most of my exercise is weightlifting and yoga! 12/30: No Exercise + 2974 steps 12/31: No…

@DD265 Great to meet you! These goals sound great; you can do it! Jenn

Yay! Happy January to all! I am new this round. My name is Jenn. I live in Massachusetts, USA with my husband, daughter, a dog, and two cats. I am an English professor who struggles with emotional eating. I love yoga, weightlifting, and aerobics. I am currently the heaviest weight I have ever been and decided to join a…
