For me it's not just that it's a habit, it's really a part of my identity - the "I'm a drinker" or "I've always been a drinker" way of thinking. I have to work on changing how I actually want to identify myself along with a big change in habits.

@MissMay you just described my neighbor to a T! He has to go get his stomach drained often (I don't know the exact schedule), and his extremities are very thin. Unfortunately, he still continues to drink. :(
