@FitMary202 -enjoy!

Finished The Book of Magic - Alice Hoffman - it was definitely my favorite of the series. Next up Southern Man - Greg Isles @Catfish_Fan - I agree it is a shame that public libraries are losing their funding. I don't know what my life have been like had I not had access to both school and public libraries as a child. There…

@Catfish_Fan - that is a great quote George R.R. Martin. I'm still reading The Book of Magic - so far I think it is my favorite of the 4 books in the series. I hope the 2nd Practical Magic movie follows along this story line. @FitMary202 - What you were feeling about Dark Matter sounds about like how I was feeling about…

@FitMary202 - I've read the 1st 4 of the Outlander series. Look forward to hearing what you think of them. I need to pick up where I left off. I also need to get back to the Game of Thrones series. I read the 3rd one when I was sick in bed. It was a little bit too bloody for a sick person, but I keep thinking about the…

@FitMary202 - You're right TBR never gets any smaller and thanks to your review I've added Babel to it. I finished The Silkworm finally - sad to say I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as The Cuckoo's Calling. 3 stars. Next up the final book in the Practical Magic series -The Book of Magic - Alice Hoffman. I also read The…

I agree with Doug - Outlander books are great. I've read the first 4. Need to pick that series back up and continue on. I've finished The Nightingale - Kristin Hannah- definitely 5 stars. Need something a little lighter after that, so next up is The Silkworm - Robert Galbraith. I really enjoyed the first one in the series…

Finished Starling House - Alix E Harrow 4 stars. Was good, but I had trouble getting into it at first. I enjoyed her Once and Future Witches much more. Next up The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah - this one has been on MT. TBR for quite a few years. Part of my goal this year is to get through some of the books that have been…

Sounds fun!
-
@Catfish_Fan - great article. Now I have scientific proof I need to curl up with a book.
-
That does sound tasty - and I love oolong tea.
-
Finished Practical Magic - Alice Hoffman - enjoyed it more this time through - though I do still prefer the movie, which is unusual for me. Next up The Book of Lost Names - Kristin Harmel. @FitMary202 - let us know how you like The Sellout - I need to know if I need to add it to Mount TBR.

Last month we went to visit relatives and spent a day in Durango Colorado. There was a tea shop in old town Durango. I got some loose-leaf tea and some lavender syrup to put in my Chamomile tea. Syrup is almost gone. Going to have to see if I can order it online - I've really come to enjoy it in my evening tea.

Cool - now you know it's genetic. Other hobbies are important too. I go through phases with mine. My GoodReads goal this year is 28 books.
-
@Catfish_Fan - hope you enjoy the Robert Langdon series. I loved the first 2 books - the ones after didn't seem to have the same depth as the first ones. I finished The Station. 3 stars on GoodReads. Didn't care for it all that much. One of the reviews said that the HBO series was much better, so I'll have to check that…

Happy New Year to you both! And well done @Catfish_Fan. That is quite an accomplishment. My page count wasn’t quite so impressive- 9,624 pages. Still working my way through The Station. Maybe not the best choice to read while dealing with all the extra year end stuff at work. I don’t usually have a problem with the back…

Wishing you all books under the Christmas Tree!
-
I've never read any Michener either but have always wanted to give him a try. Maybe, after I make a dent in the TBR mountain. The last couple of months I've been adding to it faster than I am reading from it.
-
Finished The Bean Trees - Barbara Kingsolver - was a sweet little story. Next up The Station - Emily St. John Mandel
-
Great job!!!!! Sometimes deviating from the plan is more fun!
-
I hit my Goodreads reading goal over the weekend. 28 books. Except some of them were more novellas or short stories than full books. So I expect my year end page count will be quite lower than last. Oh well I still have a month to log more reading. Love my own blissful oblivion @Catfish_Fan

Finished A Head Full of Ghosts - Paul Tremblay 5 stars Next The Bean Trees - Barbara Kingsolver
-
The Order of the Phoenix was my favorite book of the series - I hope you enjoy it.
-
-
Finished Conclave - Robert Harris 5* I'll be honest - I thought it moved a little slow for all the hype of intrigue until the last couple of pages. I truly did not see that ending coming. Wow! Next up A Head Full of Ghosts - Paul Tremblay
-
Finished Three Wishes - Lianne Moriarty - really enjoyed it. Just the light reading I was looking for. Next - Conclave by Robert Harris
-
Finished The Rules of Magic - Alice Hoffman. 5***** I really am loving reading these books. Next up is Three Wishes - Lianne Moriarty
-
Well done - especially with all that has happened in 2 years.
-
Finished Tell No One by Harlan Coben 5* Now reading The Rules of Magic - Alice Hoffman.
-
I read his Mercy trilogy and really enjoyed it. He's written so much. I definitely will have to check out A Calamity of Souls.
-
Finished Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman 5* - I just loved this book. I wasn't sure I was going to when I started it. Isn't just great when you reach the end of a book that started out slow and find that it was well worth the effort. Going to start Tell No One by Harlan Coben next.
