I am definately going to have to plan ahead, and excercise more that week. I do not want to pass up Lemon Meringue pie, Turkey, mashed potatos and gravy with dinner rolls. I wont meet my goals that day, but I should be able to over the week!

I need to try this!

Amazing progress and similar to what I need to do. I am going to message you and ask you a few questions if you dont mind.

Great results!

I would have thought I would see a gradual trend of slowing weight loss, not a sudden stop

I am male. Probably should have had that in my post. It was falling good, then just stops

but if the oil is on your plate and on their skillet, its not in your food. I understand some of it makes it into the food and should be counted but how much really?

Less calories than you burn each day!

I would add ( or reinforce since you mentioned in your first paragraph) that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Dont go to hard initially. Much better off to do something that is sustainable. I set myself for 2 pounds per week because I am overweight by a lot. I am also in my 50's so I didnt want to hurt myself lifting…

I would ask your physician about weight lifting. Building muscle mass increases your calorie burn so you burn more calories every day, sitting still. Make sure you can do that safely and build muscle. Muscle will add to the scale, but its about health, not weight.

If you have not dieted successfully before, I cant stress enough how important it is to accurately weigh everything that goes into your body to track those calories. With that weight loss goal, you dont have the luxury of wasting a month determining that your estimates were not close enough and you didnt lose much. Weight…

Big numbers ! Great job!

Thank you all.

I read an old weight loss mini-book written by an engineer (who thinks like me) and it made a lot of sense. He mentioned that the average body takes in 13.5 lb's per day through food, drink and moisture in the air you breath. Your calorie deficit is likely for 1 to 2 pounds a week. At two pounds per week, that is still…

I have listened to a few pod casts recently and since this is writing instead of talking, and I dont have the luxury of 20 minutes to go through it, I will keep it short and brief. The summary is that we have to not have decisions about will power, binging etc with ourselves. Sure it happens occasionally, but the example…

I try to eat a good, protein filled breakfast to tide me over, sometimes even just a little later than normal. Then I dont get hungry as soon and I can personally challenge myself to make it to dinner (if need be). I may take a piece of fruit with me or something if it is able to be done. I also have a few fast food places…

I have had a plateue or two myself. I think one thing that helps is to accurately weight and document what you eat. It is easy to eat up your deficit calories if you are not measuring your food to accurately assign calories. Measuring and being very careful to document everything helps me get off a plateue.

Congratulations. Great progress!

Good for you. That is a huge weight loss, and right about what my total loss needs to be. I am at 395 now and if I made it to 235, that would be great and good enough for me.

I have gotten started for a few gym sessions. I did find a program that I feel like is a good starting point. I go three days a week using a maching program that includes* Chest Press * Shoulder Press * Leg Press * Lateral Pull Down * Bicep Curl / Tricep Extension (rotate every workout) * Hamstring Curl / Leg Extension…

Holy Cow, never missed a leg day?

Great job!

Those are the things can keep you and others motivated. Keep it up and keep sharing

That is a really good week! Keep it up!

That is an outstanding transformation. Simply amazing and good for you. I am in about the exact same boat. If I got anywhere close to what you accomplished it would be amazing.

Find some ways to stay busy. I find if I am in the house and on the computer or watching TV, I am also snacking and get carried away. When I am busy doing other things, like cleaning the garage, washing the car, reloading ammunition, going to the range, walking the dogs or training the dogs, the time goes by much quicker…

I am not the OP, but my suggestion to people just starting out is to be accurate with weighing food and be accurate with your tracking of food in the app. It seems like you can eat just about whatever you want to in moderation. Accurate logging allows you to know, and to make good decisions based on the information you…
