Emotional eater. Practice HALT.
-
3 X a week weights 4-7X a week walking or other.
-
Maybe I should concentrate on HALT. NOT consistent with planning. Really don't want to plan....that commitment thing. Planning would def improve eating well. So figure out a way to want to plan.

GOALS, WINTER 2023 WHY: Because I am not feeling as well as I was. EXERCISE: Add back the weight training that went bye-bye during illness. Just DO IT, no skipping, no excuses. NUTRITION: continue to weigh daily and correlate gains/losses with eating. Figure out FAT content, I HATE fat and fatty texture, so where is it…

Woo Hoo! We are ALL winners in health. (But, Fit Force DOES rock, lol)

To start the year focus on maintaining so I do not do my normal regain. Thankfully, I've never regained all of it, but the yearly backsides make me feel like I am spinning my wheels...and spinning my wheels makes me feel like giving up...so I should get rid of things that make me feel that way. (SOUNDS simple) Foraging out…

Not my tip, but I'll pass it on since it feels so powerful: "Casually look at the pushed/offered food, widen your eyes slightly, and say so casually its like an afterthought, OH, I DONT EAT THAT ANYMORE and go right into turning away. Talking. Or whatever." She said it never failed her. I think her screen name was Indy…

Make a Dr appointment and get scoped. I suspect mine was largely caused by late night gorging, and could have been prevented but that makes 0 difference at this point--I waited too long to get a professional confirmation causing both Schlotsky (sp?) ring and Barrets (sp?). It's not 'just heartburn', like I told myself.

Go in this section to getting started most helpful posts. The very first one, FREE weightloss plan, is priceless and absolutely the pure truth. Number 10 riding the craving wave is also very helpful for me. Other thing I would do is honestly log your regular, current eating for about 2 weeks before you start and get a food…

Quit smoking several times---never think you can have just one. Just this time. NOPE. My final time, decades ago now, best tip was to deep breathe through the craving, with a promise it does go away in 1-3 minutes, also told it might be gone for just seconds before it starts again, but knowing how it does stop, you just…

Impressive victory!

Wishing you motivation to get back in the swing and to Just Do It! Been on the back slide myself, and finally moving back the right way. We can do it! Maybe it would help to do some deep thought about how you went from your starting to today. Really zero in. And then think, what little things can I change that will prevent…

Fabulous! Very impressed!

@pmbach1 you are in my prayers for a complete and uneventful recovery, and for strength and comfort during your chemo treatments. My heart lifted when I saw your comment about getting your very own God's promise on your way---can't get any better than that ❤️

Thanks for looking! It was the blog on here about 'cresting the wave' regarding fighting craving that attracted me. But, as you say, unless you join a paid program, you can't find out much info. I'm not much of one for programs, but this sounded intriguing enough to look into. The blog here also mentioned the program going…

You have a talent for making me laugh---not to mention some of your posts conger up some pretty funny head pictures, too!

Wondered how BL was doing, it's been a while.

Thanks, Ann. I think that cleared up the mystery of why eating terribly meets macros. And I think the light bulb lit, adjust your foods so that you get the good stuff you need to be your best and still meet your calorie plan. I have done a tiny bit of adjusting, yogurt to Greek, Kashi to granola that has nuts in it, just a…

Thanks, Ann, for your reply, and ddsb1111! I found helpful stuff in there! I started in 2019 with just one really simple goal, and slowly (very) added to that. But, I get feeling 'off' like now, and while not going up like before, I'm still bouncing. I'm 68, and my why for keeping on even when I'm moving in circles is…

@kaliswalker & other Canadians & well, everyone, lol. I was wondering if you or others have heard of or participated in a workshop called Craving Change. I saw a blog on MFP about 'Cresting the Wave' (cravings) that referred to the workshop. The person who wrote the blog has not been active on MFP recently. When I looked…

@AnnPT77 when I come even close to meeting the macros set up for me by MFP, I am WAY over on calories (1000+ over) and in most values on the chart when I look at nutrition in the food diary. I know it's because I've ate pure junk and ate way too much. But when I eat well and within calorie count, my macros are not any…

I've been somewhat off track, and have had some regain as a result. Then, as a result of that (see that pile up happening), I've been back to being pretty hateful to myself. I need to unload this baggage along with the weight that's causing me misery. I'm looking for where ever my motivation went. Considered not rejoining…

The LGTL's help me notice where and when I'm lacking and slipping back into bad habits so that I can put those in check and stop the re-gain. Feeling responsible for doing my part on my team has helped keep me going when I'm ready to throw in the towel. Congratulations on your sucessful weight loss journey, @Catwmncat!
