  • It's true, we do have good water out here 😜 Thanks pals 😊 but in all transparency the 👿 ⚖️ took me back up out of the new decade this morning...as it was through no fault of my own (was riding on a high yesterday, ate well and got in activity) I shall rise above its shenanigans and await tomorrow's pronouncement. Serenity…
  • Clearly you didn't watch. And it was referring to those with the disease of Obesity. I think we've all seen Oprah do as you suggest and yet still battle her weight with all the nutritional support and physical/lifestyle coaching that money can buy. I think we can all agree the conventional wisdom is simple, it's the…
  • Today the scale was my friend and took me back down into a new decade. I say new, but of course I passed it on the way up, at least twice... I am .2 shy of my 2023 starting weight...last year was a struggle! But I'm still standing - yeah, yeah, yeah 🎶
  • I personally think it is quite amusing to believe that all of our calorie calculations used to determine our goal, and all of our diary entries are so accurate, that 20 calories is make or break...eat the protein.
  • I discovered this, or very similar, using a dry salami, like Cervelat or Genoa, and nuking slices in the microwave! High in calories though, but gives you protein at least and so delish. I nuked little heaps of cheese too to make cheese chips. Ate them with celery or apple slices to kind of balance out my crunch fest lol.
  • I have been experiencing long loading times, and giving up - going out & back in to try again - but fortunately not mid post! Here is a screenshot of error I just got a couple of minutes ago.
  • My goodness, I forgot I had joined this group...Bella's post popped up for me and I had to figure out what general discussion this was... I guess this is where I met you PAV, Yooly and Laurie, so good thing! ❤️ I have threads that I follow & participate in, like '60 years and up', but the 'lose 1lb a week' group is my…
  • @MargaretYakoda, I love the name Doodlebug! Sorry for your loss. And thanks for the reminder that we never know what others may be going through and to be kind. I wish you strength and peace. Basically the Serenity Prayer for both of you.
  • Well done!! My goodness, that is great! Weren't you bedridden originally from your back? What an inspiration, please do keep us posted. 😊 I used to do macrame, forgot all about it - plant hangers, wall hangings, small hanging tables...sold some, bartered some...probably still have some supplies kicking around from the 70s…
  • This is my fear! I love swings lol, but don't really fit...
  • Yooly, imo (as a fat person still in need of losing the 100 lbs, mind you) it is NOT worth agonizing over the 10 lbs, unless it means you are uncomfortable in your clothes, etc. Otherwise it is just a number in the scale that is still within range, but on the higher side granted. You've had a tough year. You are exhausted.…
  • Hey hey, you didn't extinguish us yet! 😘 Can you post a picture? Would love to see this! And maybe plant some! I find snapdragons to be really hardy on my deck. Weird weather here too - lovely and warming, then blast of icy cold for a day or 2 - my plants don't know what to make of it! I was in Mexico for 10 days or so…
  • Hey all, I had replied to Bella in the other group thread but neglected to here. I find you all to be very mature in your journeys and are very encouraging even when struggling, if that makes sense. For what it's worth, here is my reply: "@Bella_Figura, thank you for your thought provoking post and letting us know what…
  • @PAV8888 - I tracked down & read your post too and found it extremely helpful! I actually sat and pondered/journalled some of your provocative, self-reflective questions. Did it help poster in that thread?? Could've, even should've, but no guarantees. I say - spout away at will!
  • Wow Laurie, play with 🔥...those tuxedo cakes are dang good. I feel for ya. And I now want some. I just ate 3 servings of ginger snap cookies, if we're confessing - granted only 420 calories but still not my plan...can I not trust myself with a n y thing in??
  • Hello, back last week from sunny Mexico, where I logged my food every day (as best I could, lots of guessing lol)! And I was only up 3 lbs when I weighed in at home day after return, and now only a lb or so left to get back into losing territory. Last 24 hours of vacation were a doozy though as high winds hit Holbox island…
  • We travelled around the Yucatan peninsula - flew into Cancun, bused down to Bacalar, met up with friends and then drove together to Chichen Itza, then onto Chiquila and took ferry over to Isla Holbox. Spent 5 days there (friends had to leave a couple days before us). Last 24 hours were a doozy though as high winds hit the…
  • Hello, back from my Mexican vacation on Wednesday, and only up 2ish lbs as of today from my weight before I left, so feeling good about the choices I made while away. Hoping those 2 lbs disappear and I can get back on the losing train next week. By rights though I really should be down, given all the activity I engaged in…
  • Interesting that it was cookies PAV that got you - it was also cookies (chocolate covered biscuits) that were irresistible to me after 3 in the morning recently, to the tune of 1000 calories. Didn't stop until I finished the box...more accurately, stopped with 3 cookies left and then thought WTH and ate them too - so they…
  • I was the same, saved things to carry upstairs for one trip, etc and while I'm not embracing a 'one item at a time on purpose ' lifestyle, I am certainly more willing to make extra trips in the moment and just be more fidgety in general. And pace more when the opportunity presents 😆.
  • Happy new year all 😊 Copied this over from another thread, post was made by mtaratoot: The trick for weight management is calories. The trick for being healthy is nutrition. If you can do both, you win! Isn't that a great summary? I want to be a winner in 2024! 😉
  • Welcome to all returning or new folks - lots of wisdom here! Copied this over from another thread, post was made by mtaratoot: The trick for weight management is calories. The trick for being healthy is nutrition. If you can do both, you win! Isn't that a great summary? I want to be a winner in 2024! @tnh2o - get fully…
  • Happy belated New Year to you all, very much looking forward to 2024 and am optimistic I will be more successful than last year (net gain of 7 lbs, year over year). Live & learn, right 😉? And I'm still here, not allowing myself to fully fall away, so that's something. I am hanging onto a loss since joining MFP August 2021…
  • Hello folks! Lovely to check-in with you all. I have a nagging leg injury that has worsened since my Bursitis recovery - it's not the same pain at all but still painful nonetheless and has really derailed me and my feeble attempts to get 'back at it'. Couple that excessive inactivity with increased access to holiday foods…
  • But - "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!" No, it's not. While I love breakfast food, it doesn't mean it must be consumed before 10am...and be hearty to boot. I bought into this one for a while, but eventually realized the earlier I broke my fast, the more hours in the day I had for eating! New 'rule' - break…
  • Welcome back, and while yoyoing is never good, at least you stopped the regain before putting on any more! In the past, I would yoyo ever higher, which is why this time it is FOR LIFE. You know what to do - now find a way to do it that hurts the least lol 😅
  • I've lost a couple of pounds recently (since vacation) and am back in the "decade" I was at the beginning of the year - my revised goal is to get down to the next decade to welcome in next new year! Lame-o granted, slow progress... absolutely, but I am still in the game so don't count me out 😜. Doing this FOR LIFE after…
