I would love to be your friend.

you have dealt with multiple autoimmune diseases? Wow, that's past tense. Did you cure them all? That's wonderful considering there are no cures.

Oh, the drama!

I saw this, and it's very inspirational. For me, it's all about the pain level and I have Vertigo, which messes with my balance so I need to get it all under control. The balance, the pain, and the ability to move -again. I have talked to a personal trainer, and thought a professional might be helpful and he helped a lot.…

Thank you everybody. It's day 4 and so far so good. I am still in the beginner phase of AIP, lot to learn. I feel hungry, but stick to it. The pain is still the same, but it seems I am moving easier. Also, the scale shows 5 pounds less, which is nice. Thank you for the encouragement and the kind words. Be healthy!

@kshama2001 you get it that have RA? It's not just the weight that holds me back, it's the fact that my joints especially the small joints on my feet and hands, get attacked by an autoimmune disease that leaves many crippled. Or perhaps you are only interested in your own story and highjacking other posts?

I suppose your spouse never criticized you either. Perhaps it means he/she loves you unconditionally, no matter what, and she/he is in love with you no matter how you look or how old you will be. Perhaps that's a good thing?

I smoked for 30 years. One winter it was just too cold outside (we never smoked in the house) and I realized that I had already quit smoking the night before (actually you do that every night for about 6-8 hrs when you sleep.) I didn't smoke that day and never looked back. I was done with cigarettes. To be honest they had…

I have an autoimmune disorder and follow the AIP Protokoll * which does wonders for me. My inflammation markers are down, and my pain and the night sweat disappeared. I started IF because I was curious, I expected that I would feel better. Nothing prepared me for the hunger feeling, which is not bad, but it took some…

Thank you all for helping me stay focused. It feels good to celebrate a bit. Now onward I go :-)

I am doing the AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) rather than a lifestyle for people with an autoimmune disorder, not so much a diet. It eliminates the food that causes the inflammation that pains us so much and so far it's working. I am not concerned about protein or carbs at all, only about my health, my blood sugar, and my…

got it thank you

It seems they take everything away that made it more fun and more personal. :-(

Finally, today I hit a big milestone! 50 pounds are gone. Today's weight 313 lbs. Steady wins the race, right? Even if it takes some time. Weight loss is still just a side effect. Prednisone is down at 12.5 mg. Tadah! I was hoping to see a '2' in front of the number by the end of the year, but even if I don't reach that…

I love your smile in both pictures, but can't get over the transformation. Well done!

What you suggest is an appetite controller without any vitamins. I appreciate the thought, but 'No' I think I can control my appetite now but I need to get more vitamins. That part makes sense! Thank you
-
Congratulations on the healthy new Baby! And congratulations on your weight loss and your determination.
-
I appreciate the thought, but will not spend money on a Facebook exercise video.

"Lovely" is not a word that people use when they see me, so I feel extra special right now. Thank you for that.

To be honest, just walking from the house to the back of the yard is exercise, or going up the stairs. I love the side-to-side dance. I found a chair workout routine to get my balance back and I might try that. Thank you for all your advice.

Thank you, to each and every one of you, who took the time to reply to my post. It feels good knowing that I am not alone and it looks like I am not the only 'Fat Optimist' either. "Nothing to lose other than pain" I love that so much, it's so true. What better motivation could I ask for?
-
I am super excited for you. I can't wait to see a '2' in front of my number either, I hope by the end of the year I will be there. Congratulations on your success. Keep on!

I am in the grove and I will try to stay that way. Lot's to read here, so many people and I wish you all the best. I don't think this challenge is for me. I try to stay focused right now. I am losing 1 pound a day and while I am marching along, I know I am still vulnerable. I will do a 90-day challenge on the AIP and will…
-
@CupcakeCrusoe I will stay on the AIP for another 60 days. It's actually fun to try new things and the success I have rigth now (due to the number of lbs I have to lose) is keeping me going. I will start to add certain foods back after 60 days, eggs and nuts first, then caffeine (if I still want/need it) lentils and dry…

@bojaantje3822 your welcome

For protein, you might want to look into Nutritional Yeast. It's healthy (I use it as cheese replacement) and it provides extra protein. The vegan alternative to eggs is called "Aquafaba" made out of chickpeas. https://www.godairyfree.org/recipes/aquafaba sadly not much protein in it.
