Works on mine if I can log on my laptop. Logging on is a real problem even though I’m on the app. I prefer my computer when the MFP verification process is working.

I've been here 4 years and still can't figure out the comment section of the website. My app says I've logged in 341 days and the website says 7. So, who knows what's happening. I've been logging here or SparkPeople or something else for 26 years. Maintenance is working for me with minor blips. For example, two weeks ago I…

Hello, I'm Jarol777. I'm a 5' 7" great-grandfather from Iowa, home of the Hawkeyes. All weight-maintenance begins between the ears. I decided to begin losing excess weight 25 years ago in 1998. With all of the yo-yo attempts, it took me 21 years to take off 102 lbs and now I am in my 5th year of maintenance. At age 86, I…

I set a Mini-Goal on January 1, 2023 to never exceed my high weight of that date in the year 2023. GOAL ACCOMPLISHED! I started 2024 with not needing to start a new weight loss push for the first time in my 86 years of age. I ended 2023 and started 2024 within 0.4 lbs of my goal, maintenance goal!

My mini goal is to NOT exceed my high weight on January 1, 2023 all year. So far, I'm on schedule. AND ... November 1 to December 31 is my nemesis each year. Only 21 days to go!!!! My second mini goal is to start January 1, 2024 NOT needing to start a new weight loss goal. Maintenance is tough.

s1776683: MFP will NOT calculate anything under 1200 calories. Not even if you end the day with 1199. They will just say you are not eating enough. SOooo, learn your own body and metabolism and stick with your plan ... don't let your emotions take you to bingeing.

LIWO81 - I agree with Fattyohfat, just measure your actual calorie intake, do the exercise but forget adjusting the calories. When you reach your weight goal, you will be happy and you will have done a whole lot less work and you will have reached your goal sooner. Good luck!…

I'm Jarol777 I started in 1998 at 245.5 lbs - YoYo for 21 years - maintained constantly for last 4 years, July 2019 until today. Today I'm 148 lbs Primary System: CICO - for accountability, I report my weight annually to National Weight Control Registry. I don't count on vacations or when I'm a guest in someone's home but…

PS. I still have 25 years of daily journaling of daily calories consumed and weight, up or down, on my computer. I've adopted these wise sayings for myself. “If I don’t measure and calculate food, losing will not happen. Estimating portions does NOT work for me!” “If I don’t weigh often and keep records, I gain weight.”

YES. I'm a retired octogenarian. I've taken off 102 lbs in the past 25 years and kept 94 of it off as of today. There were many yo-yo periods but I always returned to the downward trend. When I don't journal calories i.e. SparkPeople now FitnessPal; when I don't weigh daily, I gain. But those two disciplines keep me on…

You are right on target, sollyn23l2. I compete 4 times a week with table tennis but I do not add a single calorie. I only keep track of my actual caloric intake goal without adding for exercise.

I'm Jarol777 and I am the KING of the YO-YO. I've been tracking my weight since my high of 245 in 1998, 24 years ago. My best low 2-3 years ago was 143, down 102. I've been stable for two years at 155. Yes there are lessons learned. 1. Measure or weigh food portions. When I estimate - I gain. 2. Journal on Myfitnesspal - I…

I'm glad to be here as a SparkPeople transfer. I'm through the learning curve of MyFitnessPal and doing well.
