Great work everyone - I hope @chris_in_cal is doing ok! I missed checking in a few runs; but here is where things stand... August 2: 4.2 mile run August 4: 4.5 mile run August 7: 4.9 mile run August 9: 4.8 mile run August 11: 3.7 mile run August 16: 3 mile run August 18: 4.1 mile run 29.2 miles in August so far. After some…

I use Elete drops, either citrus or unflavored. They’re affordable and no nonsense. I also like some of the nuun flavors. Both appear to help me feel good on exercise days with lots of sweating.

@AmunahSki I generally run with my watch only (no phone) and don't listen to anything. Much more relaxing that way and forces me to be alone with my mind (and all the other runners). @shanaber I joined only recently, but appreciate this thread and wish you all the best August 2: 4.2 miles run August 4: 4.5 miles run August…

This group has recently not been very active...feel free to join us at a more active group (I'm vegan); some others are vegetarian...https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/145477-herbivores-of-mfp

August 2: 4.2 miles August 4: 4.5 miles for 8.7 miles total August 7: 4.9 miles for 13.6 miles total Windy weather in the windy city. My apple watch gave me a noise warning due to the waves 🌊

who else got a questionnaire about the community section and its benefits (or lack thereof)? The questionnaire gave me the feeling that the community section might be on the chopping block….

Happy Birthday @quilteryoyo 🎉🎁 ! I made a plan to balance strength training with three runs/week in August. My running days are Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. 8/2: 4.2 miles 8/4: 4.5 miles for 8.7 miles in August. Today was a weird run, first, a random person stopped me to take a photo of her and her visitor at the lake.…

+4.5 miles 7/30 - 26.64 miles total in July, see you all in August!

I’ve decided to start using up some legumes that I have sitting around and started with a black lentil salad…(also used up my chickpeas for hummus and as a salad topper). The recipe was based on this (didn’t adhere exactly to the measurements, but stored the lentils separately). I enjoyed it and will experiment with other…

+3.85 7/28 - 22.14 miles total this month Got back into strength training yesterday (pretty gently, testing where I’m at) and it felt great…I don’t think I regressed too much due to covid and am feeling happy about that. I didn’t regress at all in my running progress and decided to slowly work my way from 5k to 10k while…

@Curvykinkycurls this looks delicious I added some chia seeds to my morning oats (thanks for the inspiration @Maya440). I generally cook my oats, to avoid raiding the fridge for my overnight oats at 11pm 😂. Soaked the chia while the oats were cooking. Protein oats, cooked with unsweetened soy milk, topped with walnuts,…

+3.78 miles 7/24 +4.08 miles 7/26 - for 18.29 miles total so far July tomorrow I start lifting again after a 3 week break, running felt fine, but I’m still fatigued (crashing hard in the afternoons all week long)
-
@Maya440 interesting, my version of the No Meat Athlete book has a lot of pictures. I’ve been resorting to mixing, heating, and plating things, instead of cooking (almost all my covid symptoms are gone, but energy is still lower than usual). I discovered Treeline Cheese French Style Cashew Cheese on baguette and liked both…

2.64 cautious miles this morning…I ended up having a rather symptomatic covid rebound after coming off Paxlovid, but am optimistic that I’m over it now. Planning to take it slow after 2 weeks of inactivity and 🤧…but happy to be able to get out again. 10.43 miles in July
-
Thanks @Maya440 🤗 , it’s annoying, but manageable (runny nose and feeling sick, but I can still taste). It’s been a while since I tried a new recipe, making things up as I went instead, but today I made this Mushroom Lentil Bolognese from the No Meat Athlete Cookbook (eaten with chickpea linguine)…it was quite good and a…

Talking about chili oil…I also love chili crisp, either from Trader Joe’s or this recent acquisition (used to jazz up veggie/tofu sheet pan. 👍🏻
-
Since I’ve been feeling meh, I’ve also made a few veggie tofu pans around frozen Trader Joe’s veggie dumplings. Also eaten with chili oil.
-
@eatyourtoast that reminds me of a recipe for beet lentil stew I’ve been meaning to try! Looks like covid may be rebounding for another round of feeling sick…I made miso soup and edamame with chili oil for lunch…at least I can taste things…

I hope things are better for everyone who’s dealing with Beryl’s aftermath, stay safe! Thanks for all the views on running with Covid. I am also scared of long covid and made the call to not run and allow myself to recover. I tried working from home and realized I’m not entirely asymptomatic (I fizzled after a few hours…
-
@AmunahSki welcome! I am also still a beginner after a long break :) Odd question: Has anyone tried running while still testing positive for covid? I am on day four after testing positive, but taking Paxlovid and feeling quite good. I do feel horrible sitting around at home though. I will probably go on a lonely walk today…

Happy belated birthday! 🎂 I find it hard to keep up with all the threads now and focus mainly on the UAC.
-
Ah, interesting point @Maya440 - it’s lab grown and not farmed, so I’m not sure organic is a thing here, it might depend on what’s used to feed the fungi?? I feel pretty good, but am grounded and not loving it. I am considering taking myself on a long and lonely walk today.

@takinitalloff I haven’t had meat in a very long time, but it seems to be imitating chicken in both texture and taste. This is quite creepy for a vegan, but once I got over the psychological barrier, I can enjoy it. I haven’t done a lot of research, but mycoprotein is grown in incubators, making it an interesting food. The…

I’ve come down with covid 😷…yesterday and today I made the same quick lunch of meati mycoprotein cutlet, chickpea pasta, beans cooked in the pasta water and vegan pesto. Myco protein is an interesting concept, I think… I can still taste things, so this hit the spot (didn’t have any energy for elaborate cooking).

I’m also a morning runner, I try to be out well before 6 (workday or weekend). There’s something beautiful and peaceful about running at dawn. @SummerSkier I don’t understand people who think it’s cool to infect others. At the conference I went to there were several unmasked people who clearly had a respiratory condition,…

@quilteryoyo I tested positive this morning and spent the day hunting down Paxlovid. Getting a prescription was easy, finding the pills wasn’t. Took the first dose tonight and am probably looking at 5 days of downtime at minimum. Symptoms are relatively mild, but definitely a sore throat, chills, and just feeling off.…

Congrats, @chris_in_cal! These are great pictures, too, especially the one with you in action. Also, good luck with Wegovy—hopefully, you will be spared any unpleasant side effects. I have no experience with these drugs, but they sound like a potentially very effective tool as long as one is willing to work on all the…

3.16 miles along Charles River in Boston this morning, 6.16 miles so far in June. I also got 7.5 miles of walking today, exploring Boston, before heading home tonight. @VO2Maxlet yay for Chicago running - I sometimes run South towards museum campus. @tarun_yadav I'm not a huge fan of deep dish, although I'm a huge fan of…

Hi Tarun @tarun_yadavA , and all, thanks for the welcome 🙏 . I live in downtown Chicago, so another big city runner. I’m 46.

@chris_in_cal thank you for the link to the new thread. @tarun_yadavA I think it’s likely that people joined after losing interactions on their newsfeeds. Thanks for the welcome! I’m Eva- I am slowly getting back into running (since last January), after a longer break. My goal for ‘24 is to consistently run about 5km 3…
