In my age group (mid70s-80s+) we are at an age where people just can't eat much (or drink much) so no, my friends make me feel like I overeat when I eat a sandwich and they nibble on half.

It was heart failure. As I posted this (no lie) we had a short shower at sunset with a rainbow. Sarah (my firend) says...CALL YOUR DOCTOR. (you will probably be fine but in this case ignorance is not bliss)

Just another story. I had (notice past tense) a friend who was exercising at the Y. Felt some slight chest pain. It went away but she called her cardiologist and told him it really was no big deal, it went away when she stopped. Made an appointment for the next morning, she died that night. She was active and seemed…

I do put a raw egg yolk on top of my carbonara too. Egg yolk in ceasar dressing. Raw eggs in cookie dough. the list goes on
-
But then there's eggnog. (and no...I don't cook it)

PLEASE SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!! Do not go to Dr Google or the good strangers on the internet. Chest pain is not something to mess around with.

I misread, thought she meant as a freshman was 15. In any event even at 18 she is still growing and still not an adult. If she is living at home and will go to the store and pay for her own groceries maybe her parents will be ok as long as she pays for the food, prepares and cleans up what she prepares.

You should be at least 18 to be on this site. You are not overweight and still growing. You are still not an adult and if your family takes you out to eat that is what you do.

Just made eggs in purgatory for breakfast (and cheese grits). I drink eggnog made with raw eggs.

Don't feel bad if MFP isn't for you. Everyone is different. Those of us here like using the logging of food and don't think it is a pain but I have friends who have tried it and it just wasn't right for them. I second the suggestion to talk to your health support team and see if there is another option.

Saw the title and just want to say I love this time of year. I live in Pa Dutch country and this week the produce started coming in. I have harvested a few tomatoes and eggplant already. Because of the very dry spring the corn was late but oh so sweet. We have "coffee can" stands where the farmers pick their veggies and…

Just made the omelette from "The Bear"

I do congradulate you and my concern about continueing to lose weight is clouded by what I see in my friends who are 80s-90s and what I have seen in parents. After the mid-late 70s it seems that it is easy to lose weight, but that weight is actually muscle, even amongst people who are active. Also taste and appetite…

Thanks, never thought of that, just assumed you had to set temp 25 lower. I am so old that I remember that when you bought something it came with a book of instructions. Even the owners manual on line is sort of lacking but the air fry rack did come with a sheet of instructions. Even my weber grill came with a bigger set…

oops sorry PAV8888 got you mixed up with someone else, I think you may not be in your 70s.

Thank you. Most people I talk to have convection but have never used it. Looking at the technology excpt for baking cakes, souffles and things done in a water bath convection seems to have many advantages. The delivery guy said the air frier option was good because on the counter air friers don't hold that much. I do want…

Thank you for your input, I don't have a countertop air frier so was just wondering. Whilrpool has some videos, less than a minute and not very helpful. I did extensive research on both induction and electric and had only a couple of requirements. First had to come in white (so happy I didn't settle for stainless) second…

I'm not concerned with healthy, only want to know if anyone has one. Apparently not, its better than the 1997 stove it replaced.
-
Maybe sorta- kinda but different. On the air frier setting the oven runs hotter because the fan setting runs faster, hence the difference from basic convection. Do you find that true on your oven? Looks like I'm just going to play around to finally get good sweet potato fires on my own, was hoping someone actually had an…

Yep, I have researched but they are all for on the counter air friers, just thought someone may have an oven that is an air frier. thanks.

I just want to say I feel so good about my personal goal. After seeing so many youngin's with goals at 21-22 BMI I felt so bad even though I knew that for my age at mid 70s I was in the "sweet spot of 25-27 BMI" This is not to say that in any way for those that have already maintained at that level should gain weight, but…

I agree with Ann. I happen to be a very fancy cook with a bunch of exotic spices in house, but I know several people who have always just cooked the basics who have been introduced to different flavors and techniques using the meal services. They are not "pre-prepped and just zap it" meals. If someone does not have the…

You are posting on the maintaining weight section. So are you still maintaining in real life or is it just the silly "in five weeks" close out that is bothering you. Real life is better than a projection.

Just a quick thank you. I'm older but have really been able to take advantage of some of the youtubes you all post. This morning I decided to do the (what I thought would be) easy rest day Barre workout posted above as a test drive for Barre. not exactly a rest day but now I'll add barre to my rotation. Thanks again.

I'm like you, same height, only my goal is to stay below 150 with 155 being my red line. I'm in my mid 70s but have always been about this weight. I am one of those special snowflake females who does get "Supah bulky" and if you took a picture of just my legs you would think I was some wrestler guy...and no, there is no…

So great to hear!! I am very lucky, I have never been super overweight, had weight creep a couple of years ago and lost 30lbs. Surprisingly my measurements are the same as in 2007. I was just concerned with the drop to 120lbs, you sounded like some of my friends. I don't get as many steps as you do (I only check with the…

You will get many responses from kids in their 60s, but I am in my mid 70s and have been maintaining a bit now. Most of my friends are older than I am as is my husband and it seems that as we age (70s and up) we start to have trouble keeping weight on. At least that is true for my group of friends. Many have been advised…

Do you have the little calendar? I use the website so what I see may be different.

I do but only when doing a big clean. Truth be told I am not a daily cleaner so my cleaning generally is move the furniture scrub floors type. When I do that, or take down and wash curtains, switch rugs etc I do count it. For just a quick swifter..no.
