Leaving MFP for Lose It! It's a much better app and has the newsfeed feature that really makes it break it for me. Sorry to all my friends and the 5% challenge folks who I cared about - I'm moving in to greener pastures. I can no longer connect with friends here on MFP like I used to so I think it's pointless to stay. Good luck on your weight loss journeys!

  • Hey y'all, I'm feeling very disconnected now that my newsfeed is gone. Maybe I can connect with y'all and support you on your journeys? I took a month long hiatus because my newborn son didn't have a great checkup with his doctor and I thought it might be related to me cutting too many calories. So I stepped back from MFP…
  • Same. I just got back from taking a 1 month hiatus and my entire support system is gone. I saw many people posting about Lose It! and I checked it out but I'm not finding any of its social features remotely close to a "newsfeed". Maybe it's because I've only fiddled with it for an hour and I need to look deeper but I…
  • Just a bit of encouragement. I just had my 3rd baby a little less than a month ago. I had been on MFP and tracking and doing good for almost 8 months before I got pregnant and dropped 70lbs. Then I got pregnant and was in "survival mode" (eating whatever my body would allow during that first trimester craziness, which…
  • Add me if you want to! I'm just getting back into the swing of things since having my baby. I have a lot of baby weight to re-lose
  • GR8TER for the spring challenge!
  • Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone here. I'm down a bit this week (-1.5lbs) for my weekly weigh-in, so that's not bad at all considering my baby grew probably at least a half pound this week (in addition to fluids and enlarged organs and the fact I really struggle to see my feet anymore!) So 1.5lbs is actually a…
  • Alrighty, good result for today! January SW: 260 1/6: 255.7 1/13: 253.3 Of course my goal isn't weight loss right now, just more so not weight gain due to the pregnancy, but I'm not unhappy losing a few extra pounds I've gained. It was hard this week though. My in laws went with us to Olive Garden yesterday and due to a…
  • Well my appointment went well. Up a half pound at the doctor's from my previous appointment 2 weeks ago, but I'll take it. It's better than 10lbs up like I was the previous 2 weeks! Lol. My weekly weigh-in isn't until tomorrow though, so hopefully I'll have no gain tomorrow either. @skintight303 and @CupcakeCrusoe sorry…
  • @RavenStCloud I love the sticker idea! What exactly is your goal with your sticker plan? Do you "earn" something after a certain amount of stickers or do you just collect cool and fun stickers to show off? What do you put them on? I'm curious about your cute idea! @CupcakeCrusoe Bad days happen. They just do. And although…
  • Yesterday wasn't great. I banked about 500 calories for dinner, but ended up going to a pizza joint that didn't have calories listed on anything and it's a mom and pop shop, so it wasn't a chain place that MFP had listed and sold food that MFP doesn't have. So I chose a sandwich that sounded good because gosh darn it, I…
  • Happy Sunday y'all! I weighed in yesterday with a 4lb loss, so I'll take it. SW: 260 1/6: 255.4 Not that I'm intentionally trying to lose much right now, but I have a little bit of ground to make up for since I had such a huge gain my first 2 trimesters. Hoping I can turn things around for this last one. @skintight303…
  • Hey y'all, Diane convinced me to rejoin y'all now instead of waiting until March for the Spring challenge (I'm due with my baby March 18th) and I desperately need the accountability the 5% challenge provides to help me stay in track the rest of this pregnancy lol. I would love to rejoin the GR8TERS again but if there's no…
  • @kristinwoods919 that's awesome! If this is your first week or so back in the saddle then yes that is water weight more than likely. So don't expect losses like this every week. However I'm happy to see you're trending down and congrats! Keep pushing! @CupcakeCrusoe the thing to focus on is not the amount of weight lost…
  • Hey all! I'm trying to make some better choices than the off-the-rails eating I've been doing for the last 7 months lol. I feel like I'm an MFP success story; January-July of 2023 I lost 70lbs! Then...I got pregnant. In the past 7 months, I've gained 50lbs back. Now either I'm giving birth to an elephant calf OR all that…
  • I'm glad you are pushing though and committed but I caution you that extremely fast weight loss because you are starving yourself could cause you health problems, bounce back weight gain, plateauing early, and other issues. If you aren't eating the calories that MFP allots for you every day, it isn't really sticking to the…
  • January Start Weight: 260* January Goal Weight: 260 Ultimate Goal Weight: 180 January 1: 260 January 8: January 15: January 22: January 29: January 31: *: I'm 7 months pregnant. I don't really expect a whole lot of loss (if any) this month. If I can stay the same, then that's good for me. I'm just sick and tired of gaining…
  • I just wanted to post and send some encouragement your way. First off, you're here. That's more than you were a little while ago. Several other users have pointed out some really good points - you did lose weight last year but I think your bar, and expectations, were set in stone a little too much. Weight loss, and health…
  • Add me! Looking for new friends as I start this year in more of a maintenance mode style before I kick it up to major weight loss after I have my baby in March! I lost 70lbs last year (aaaand then I got pregnant) on MFP and unfortunately have gained most of it back due to poor choices + growing baby. MFP really works if…
  • Looking for some more friends. I had to take a break a couple months back but I'm here again and ready to be healthy again. Add me!
  • Wow! 171lbs?! That's insane! Fantastic job. So far, I'm down 62lbs out of my 100lb goal this year. I feel less tired and more pain-free than I have felt in years. Way to go on your massive accomplishment. Love it! So I echo that sentiment - I so wish I would have done this sooner.
  • When I first started, I dropped 11lbs my first week. Actually pretty much every time I've started a "diet", the week 1-2 weightloss is unrealistically high. It's normal for my body to drop this "fake" weight. Not everyone sees a huge drop this first week and that could be normal for their body. It's just water weightloss…
  • I appreciate everyone's responses! Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and suggestions. Several of you have suggested a new pair of running shoes which would be a nice things, but I have a pair I bought about 9 months ago and the tread on them is still very good. I usually wear running shoes for about 4 or 5 years…
  • I live in a very rural area. My closest gym is 30 minutes away. I'm unsure if it offers childcare or not, but it might. I'll have to see. I have very limited options when it comes to things in my daily life. I miss living in a city. So much.
  • As others have said, in order to increase stamina you do the thing you want the stamina to increase in, maintaining a high threshold of intensity. You may not be starting where you want to be, but start where you are able. Then push yourself to the limit of your ability during every session, and eventually your stamina…
  • Good luck! If you stay dedicated and track, I mean honestly TRACK everything, you will see the pounds melt off. I've been here since the end of December and I've dropped 64lbs. It can be done. What's helped me the most is tracking everything and sticking to my daily calorie budget. Don't give up on yourself and push…
  • This is going to be my first "Fitness Focused Five-percent" challenge. A triple F. Here's my tentative strength training plan: 10 squats 10 lunges 30 second plank 10 pushups 10 situps Repeat 3x daily At least 2x a week I'll do 30 minutes of circuits instead of # of repeats. So I go for time instead of amount. I might have…
  • My goal is to break the 100lb barrier and get back into One-derland, which I haven't seen in 15 years. I think by the time this challenge starts and when it ends, I should be crossing that milestone line right near the end, so I think I can do it. That aside, I have a harder goal of exercising every day. A circuit of…
  • So my plan for this summer is to incorporate some form of routine fitness. Like strength workouts and circuits. In lieu of a gym (and overcoming childcare challenges), I can start by doing sets of squats/lunges/planks/pushups/situps every day and then adding cardio on a bi-weekly basis. I feel like first I need to research…
  • Unfortunately I live in option #3: a camper. I have zero room for anything else (I don't even have an oven for goodness sakes....I feel like an oven is a basic human necessity lol). We will eventually build a house on our 67 acres we live on, but that's going to be at least a year down the road before we even start. In the…
