This is my third week of eating 5:2 and each week I have seen the numbers on the scale move down. I had a Tirosint dosage change a couple of months ago as I was starting to go hypo again. Prior to 5:2, I had been on WW for 6 months and played with the same 5 pounds the entire time. 5:2 seems to be getting my weight loss…

I struggled for 6 months with exercising 4-5 days a week, regulating my diet through weight watchers, getting enough rest, and managing my stress levels. I kept playing with the same 5 lbs over and over for those months. I have a primary care doctor and an endocrinologist. My endo thought I was doing fine, but my PCD…

I've taken Tirosint for over a year. I take it at night before bed so that it doesn't interfere with anything. However, I can still drink my decaf coffee or tea before bed. I had an extreme allergy to the fillers used in Synthroid and especially in the generics. For many years I had the choice of being sick from the…

Hmmm...that's a good idea. I hadn't thought about using the treadmill itself. I have a gym at my apartment that I use often. I may try it out today. Thanks!

Martial Arts - Monday & Wednesday Run - Tuesday & Thursday (sometimes Friday or Saturday). I can't seem to stay away but it is hard to find childcare on a Saturday. Once the little one starts up an activity in the spring, I will get an hour to run on Saturday.

Thanks! I think I am hooked. I have signed up for a Valentine's Day and a St. Patrick's Day virtual. By the time I get to the Hot Chocolate 5k in October, I should feel great!

I haven't been diagnosed with celiac, but I have had eczema, skin breakouts, severe alliergies, IBS-like issues, and had my thyroid removed. I moved to gluten free because I wanted to take a chance on making these things better without medication. It works for me. I don't feel any different when I am eating gluten free,…

I had a TT in early 2012, so almost 2 years ago. It seems like it is ancient history. I did not have cancerous cells, but my thyroid had become "calcified". It was an ordeal for the surgeon to get it out, but he was great and was able to leave all my parathyroids in place. My lessons learned are below and everything will…

Congratulations! That is amazing! Good job and I agree on the pedicure or a massage.

I'm a graduate! I graduated! I'm a C25K grad! What day is it?! GRADUATION DAY! Woohoo!

It's the day after and my endorphins have calmed. I am checking in to let you all know that I am doing pretty good! My shins are a little sore and my calves are a little achy, but I expected a more soreness than on the treadmill. I am on the cusp of needing some new shoes, so this will be my excuse. Onward and upward! One…

You are going to be great!!!

This is all great feedback! I normally wear my snow boots to the gym and change into my sneakers when I hit the treadmill. I made the mistake of wearing my running shoes for the walk to the gym one day and was amazed at how slick it was on pavement. I am going to think about what will work best and try to be patient with…

Thanks for posting this link. I just bought a t-shirt and will be running on Saturday.

Finished W7D3 yesterday. W8D1 is on schedule for tomorrow. I did realize that I can either walk really fast or run really slow at my current pace. When I started 8 weeks ago, this pace was exhausting and I considered bumping it down another notch. Yay for progress!!! Side note: Yesterday during my run on the treadmill, I…

I had my thyroid surgically removed 3 years ago. I have a slight vitamin D deficiency and B12 deficiency. I also have a pretty large iron deficiency. I take OTC D, B12, and iron. The vitamins are just a part of my routine. I recently had a bump in Tirosint, so I'm not feeling the best, but it could always be worse.

Ooooh that's a good one! The song that got me through the last 3 minutes was "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins. I need to download "Eye of the Tiger" and several others from any Rocky movie ever. Hiiiiiiiighway to the Dangggggger Zone!

I am going to go off topic here to say: You are amazing! I'm a fellow turtle who runs through molasses and or Nutella. :)

I swear I sang "We are the Champions" all the way home from the gym. :)

How did it go? You can do it and you'll be so happy that you did!

I usually run on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I do karate on Monday and Wednesday. I missed Friday because I promised my daughter I would take her to Chuck E Cheese. The last time I ran was Thursday. We had a snowstorm this weekend, so we were stuck in the house most of the weekend (except when we went out and made snow…

Yikes! That sounds painful. Here's to a speedy recovery!

Great for still doing it even indoors!

I don't know what is different this time than any other time I started the program, but I am glad I have changed. I am truly enjoying the journey.

I finished W6D3 this afternoon. 22 minutes! I can't believe I made it. The first minute I felt like my knee was going to tweak out on me, but it was fine once I got into it. I started to fall apart at 7-8 minutes and 14 minutes but I pushed through. I rewarded myself with new running pants and a running jacket. I found…

I AM running! That's pretty amazing. I've got the bug pretty bad. I've read a couple of books about running on my Kindle, subscribe to Women's Running, found a running track next to my house just in case the gym is packed for the next couple of weeks, and am starting to look at 5Ks for this year. Did you know there is a…

Thanks so much! I hadn't thought of increasing speed for a portion of the run. I have a tendency to be "all or nothing".
