I got my gall bladder removed several years ago. My recovery experience was similar to Alatariel75. I was uncomfortable for a few days, then things improved pretty swiftly from there. Three days of opioid pain meds, two days of over-the-counter pain meds, that's it. I remember my appetite took a little bit to bounce back,…

My favorite group is the Ladies 200+ Pounds group. It is very supportive and welcoming and it's fun to post there. The thread carries over month to month. Some people are 200+, some people are former 200 plus-ers who are in the process of losing even more weight. We share our successes; we share our challenges. Come check…

I despise McDonald's food and nearly all fast food in general. I haven't eaten any in years. My Hubs, who ate Mcdonalds since he was a young child and worked in a McDonald's in the early 1980's, says the quality of the food has gone way downhill: no fresh peeled potatoes for French fries, no real ice cream in the shakes,…

You look great! What does a typical day of eating look like to you, as a keto-dieter?
-
Double wow!

Wow! Congratulations! I wish I could be so lucky! I lost 20 pounds, and my belly/hips/thighs hardly budged (my chest, arms, and face, on the other hand...........). May I ask, how old you are? I used to have an easier time losing weight all over, but after menopause things changed a lot.

What medication are you talking about? Did I miss something?

Just thought I'd pop in. Surprised no one has posted for a while. This thread is usually very active. My cold is still lingering, or maybe it's the cold mixed with allergies at this moment (tree pollen). Congestion and post-nasal drip is better but still annoying. Hubs and I have been eating cold medicine everyday which…

nebslp I can relate to the ravages of sugar and also fell off the wagon around the holidays. Glad to hear that you are building good habits, sounds like things are going well for you. I admire your positive mindset!

Good to be back on this new thread. Haven't posted, logged my food, exercised, or weighed myself in a while. I've had a nasty cold and feel terrible. Hubs has it now too. I'll be content just to maintain for the next few weeks. Wishing everybody well and stay healthy.

Are you eating enough fiber?
-
Protein shakes don't do anything for weight loss. Only a calorie deficit does that.

Any loss is better than no loss at all, rory. I didn't lose at all this week, but I didn't expect to, I binged on Wen. on a bunch of chocolate. Not sure why, except I really felt hungry, I kept eating my usual foods, but still felt hungry. I had to gorge before I felt satisfied. Peculiar. I hadn't gone much below my usual…

Watching portions is important. I'm surprised that this meal came to 600+ calories. Think substitutions as well. How many eggs, did you use a lot of butter? Fats are dense in calories. I would use just one or two yolks and the rest scrambled whites. skip the butter on the toast, use skim or low-fat milk instead of whole…

I like a couple of string cheeses (low moisture part skim milk mozzarellas) for 160 calories with 14 grams protein. There's enough fat to keep hunger at bay too.

Yuck! I like macaroni, I like chili, but not together. Beef Fajitas
-
Yuck! Bagel with lox and cream cheese
-
Yuck! I like traditional pizza toppings. Pineapple upside down cake
-
Yum! Toffee-covered peanuts

HIIT IS cardio. It's just a form of cardio. Weight loss comes primarily from a calorie deficit, not exercise. You can't outrun/outwalk a bad diet. If you suffer from inconsistency issues........be more consistent. There is no other solution. Super-quick weight loss is not a good idea in any case, it can wreak havoc…

I always measure the milk I put in my coffee/tea. I use a 1/4 cup of 2% low-fat. I also measure out a teaspoon of sugar. Sugar and creamer are non-negotiable. I dislike fat-free creamers and artificial sweeteners. It amounts to about 55 calories, which isn't huge, but I feel it should be taken into account.

Yum! What more can I say? <3 Garlic butter shrimp!

Thanks for the well-wishes. Traffic is very light around here, I think people are hanging out at home in case of evacuation orders. I love cottage cheese with banana too, had a big bowl of it for lunch. 26 grams of protein and satisfies my sweet tooth. Love linguine with clams. My dad turned me into a clam fan. Clams on…

Medjool dates are very common where I live, are you in the US? I live in the Los Angeles area and San Bernadino County is the only place in the US that grows dates. I believe February is the date festival here and stores get packed with dates. You can always buy Medjools online. I love Greek yogurt, but I prefer it plain…

I agree about not fixating about estimates. A better gauge is keeping an eye on the scale for a few weeks and logging your food consistently. After about 4 weeks, if you haven't lost weight you're probably at maintenance. My personal number for weight loss is 1500, I lost 20 pounds from 200 (I'm 5 foot 4 inches) on that…

Yum, Medjools are my all-time favorite date. I make them stuffed with a walnut half and dipped in dark chocolate. Heavenly! Date nut bread
-
Men......I prefer garlic bread/Texas Toast Lamb loin chops
-
Yum! (especially home made) Veal parm
-
I've got a craving for my homemade chili, the best, but I feel too lazy to make it!

Never had one but it sounds yum! Turkey Club sandwich
