I weighed myself this morning (didn't have time for my usual Wen. weekly morning AM weigh-in yesterday). I'm down to 181! On track to weigh in at 175 at New Year's Day. I'm gonna make it!

I officially "retired" my 1X cotton jersey shirts and am pulling the XLs out of the recesses of the closet! The 1Xs are going to the thrift store. Many of the XLs are dusty from disuse but fit fine. I'm not looking back!

I only measure once a week, same time as my weekly weigh-in. My waistline can vary the most. One salty and/or carb heavy meal can throw everything off. I avoid those things a few days prior to my weigh-in.

Well, Wednesdays are my weigh-in days, I stepped on the scale and it showed 181.5! A 2.5 lb drop from last week! You think I should be dancing around, but my measurements have not changed at all. Am I losing water, or worse, muscle? On the plus side, I feel good, with good energy.

I bought a pewter keychain with a cat on it. It's handcrafted, cute, and came all the way from the UK.

Finally, out of the Plus sizes in knit tops and sweaters, I can wear an XL instead of a 1X. Progress!

Christina, there are many great step videos on YouTube! Very inspiring. I lost quite a few inches last year doing step, it's great exercise. And congratulations on your progress! I hope to be in the 170's by the end of the year. Consistency! Consistency! Kristen, 3 pounds in one week, that's awesome!

Kudos to you for the weighted hoop sub, sounds like fun. 30 minutes of that is a great amount of time! I have a Reebok step I need to pull out of the closet on bad weather days. I used to do steps during rainy weather. To music, it's a lot of fun too.

Today was my weigh in day and hooray! I lost the two-pound holiday/vacation weight that I gained. I'm now 184. I'm determined to get below 180 before the year is done. I have plenty of time. I've been really consistent with my eating and exercise habits since I came back from vacation. A nice NSV, I'm fitting into XL in…

Take it as learning experience and move forward. Also, start by keeping a food diary, it's a valuable tool to help keep you on track.

Hi, great to see everyone on the November thread. I'm late to the game with this but I finally stepped on the scale this past Wen. and saw I gained two pounds. Two pounds in 2 weeks, sounds like a backslide to me. But I've doubled down, nipped it in the bud, I'm back to logging my calories and doing my daily walks again. I…

NSV means a Non-Scale Victory. A positive change in your weight that has nothing to do with the number on the scale. If you scroll through that thread, you can find many examples. One popular example is fitting into a smaller size item of clothing that has been sitting in a drawer or closet for years.

You don't need a gym (or equipment) to get fit. There are bodyweight exercises that you can do at home.

Made my famous pumpkin pie yesterday and was able to stop at ONE forkful!
-
Thanks Christina! LOVE your Medusa costume! I made my famous pumpkin pie yesterday and it came out delish! Yes, it had a crust! I had one forkful! It was hard to stop at one forkful, but I did it. I'm bouncing back really well from my Palm Springs indulgences. With all the chocolate Halloween candy swirling around, it's…

Thank you so much, Ann. I had one small forkful of pie. After all that work, I just had to sample it. As always, it was delish! Not overly sweet, not overly gingery (uses fresh ginger root).

You just start posting! Introduce yourself, nothing complicated. I LOVE it here!

I already mentioned this in the NSV thread, but I thought I'd add it here. My cubicle neighbor has a 2-pound box of premium mixed chocolates that he's been sharing with everyone, and I haven't dipped into it. Chocolate is a big trigger for me, I just can't stop at one. In fact, there's Halloween chocolate all over my…

I used to have weird dreams about eating "forbidden" foods like brownies when my diet was too strict. I'd dream I'd be reaching for something and wake up all anxious and confused. I haven't had a dream like that in decades, thank goodness.

My cubicle neighbor bought a two pound box of Sees candy to share with everyone. For those who are unfamiliar, it is the West Coast's highest quality chocolate. They've been around since the '20's and come in all sorts of flavors. IMO you can't get a bad one in the bunch. I've been staying away and haven't even been…

Yum! (and I normally hate marshmallows!) Goo goo clusters

Came back from my Palm Springs trip this past Monday. It was the most relaxing trip ever! And of course, I did not track calories or exercise, and I felt no guilt. Three days is not going to cause damage, however, I'm afraid to get back on the scale. It felt like a challenge just to get back to tracking my food. Calories…

I have an air pop-popper, which I love. I think it's the perfect movie snack. I even sneak some into theaters (Sssssh!).

Thanks Keri. I look back at my birthday post and shake my head. I ate everything on my plates, including lobster tail with drawn butter, broccolini with hollandaise sauce, and a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. I never eat that much fat! But I really enjoyed myself. The only thing I didn't enjoy was my Diet Coke (am…

In terms of October treats, I plan to make a pumpkin pie later this month. I have a great recipe that calls for dark molasses as well as light brown sugar (and a little bit of white). What makes it really special is the freshly grated ginger.

Hello again! It seems like my STG to weigh in at 180 by my trip to Palm Springs is not going to pass (I'm 182.5) and I leave this Friday). I stopped logging in my food because of depression but it looks like I better get back on the horse. I had one day when I overate (sweets, as usual). I think it's time to go back to my…

Do you like sparkling water? There are several brands out there that are sugar (and artificial sweetener) free, sodium free, caffeine free, and calorie free. My favorites are La Croix and Langers.

I used to snack after dinner. I still get the cravings, even though I'm eating adequate calories. My solution may not ring chimes for everyone, but I enjoy adult coloring books. Keeps my mind and hands busy. Also, after I'm through coloring and it's time for bed, I take a warm bath with a bath bomb or nicely scented both…

Definitely. I saw a YouTube video of a woman doing Crossfit who is close to 100 and she has a rockin' body. But even if I didn't have a "rockin' body" I'd be wearing bikinis till the day I die! I feel so matronly in a one-piece, not to mention that they never seem to fit me well.

I dislike tankinis, at least on me. I have lower stomach pooch and tankini tops seem to end just where my pooch begins, highlighting it. I agree with you, people don't seem to notice or care if one is overweight and wearing a bikini. I'm all for men wearing speedos too, no matter what weight. Wear what you feel comfortable…
