I'm usully like that, till I get to about 5k in then I loosen up... @SwimBikeRunRepeat full moons are nice! @kgirlhart easing back is usually a good thing. Trust you'll get better soon. @Emilienewme I never did learn how to skate. So many…

Good running y'all. Heopfully I've liked all the posts. Posting from South East Asia. 2.5 days to get here. Left on a Friday evening, arrived Sunday am local time. Been raining cats dogs and crocodiles. Monsoon season. Did a treadmill run instead today, From winter to +30c and 100% humidity = Dreadfully sweaty. Usually can…

:D pretty much

@quilteryoyo you get use to the spikes expecially on snow and gnarly ice on slopes. They are soooo much safer and don't slip as much on ice slopes.

So my MTD is 40km out of 150k goal. The next 3 days will suck being on airplanes. One leg is 16.40 hours. Welp :/

@Scott6255 thanks for the recommend earlier! @tarun_yadavA good to hear your foot is improving @Laurz9191 I know about cold snowy slushy wet cold feet. I just run faster to warm up :D

@Teresa502 thanks for the lead. I'll check it out. I hear you on the ice slippy slidy. We use cleats for ice. For really gnarly ice on trails, I use kahtoola microspikes which are like mini-crampons. Better yet, I also use Icebugs which have the cleats built in. If you don't get ice regularly, maybe the slip on cleats are…

@quilteryoyo Yep it was previously modded. Might have to change it some more... @ContraryMaryMary thanks! @martaindale there is something nice when running in those kind of cold temps. Feels like one can go forever @tarun_yadavA hope your foot gets better soon @AmunahSki, I have gloves, toque, balaclava, mittens, puffy…

@SwimBikeRunRepeat thanks for the recommend! Unfortunately I seem to be allergic to the Costco one I took. I need to find a hypoallergenic version.

Have a question for the good oldies here. I'm already 60. How do y'all handle the aches and pains in the joints? Sometimes I struggle to even even get up after sitting on the floor. My mind still thinks I'm 20 and tries to bounce up but the bod says nope. I've tried epsom salts, hot baths etc doesn't work. I think Advil is…

@quilteryoyo it's Singapore. Lovely place but stupidly hot most days. I moved to Canada for the free air-conditioning. Do not miss the tropical creepy crawlies. I rather take on a bear....

So I had some good news today. My diabetes A1c numbers is now down to 5.8 from a high of 7.5 previously. Woot!. But now the real battle begins to keep it there so I gotta keep plugging away. Aim to get it to 5.5 and below and stay there! I think I have another 10kgs to loose this year to help with this B) Bring it on >:)

Sorry for the late reply. It took me a whole year to get there. Slow and steady wins the race! I started from zero so you can too!
-
Sorry for the late reply. That's awesome for you.

Trust everyone is staying safe with the icy and snowy storms. We have something called Chinooks here (aka Fohne winds). Last week was averaging -15c daytime and this week, thanks to the Chinook, we might get up to +10c on Wednesday! Nice weather break but its skating rink time when the slush freezes overnight. Lots of…

@quilteryoyo lol maybe a 1000 layers.

Did a fast night 5.8k hike last night. No headlamps. Fun stumbling over unseen mounds. Fresh snow made it a bit less slick but still wore cleats. Some spots felt like Sleepy Hollow. Been mulling on checking out the new Nosferatu movie. Still brrr at -15c/5F

That counts! Basically carrying a weight on your shoulders for exercise for a time and distance. Maybe do crazy laps :p
-
What do you hope to change? - That it can be done - Willpower for a 24 hr event - Add more strength training What do you hope to keep? - The weight loss and A1c down - Running What do you hope to accomplish? - One big big run this year to celebrate the big Six-Oh - One big fastpack trip to help with the above - Get and…

[quote="martaindale;c-48416811"} @WarmJellyfish your definition of fun and mine are different. The thought of crazy laps has me going 😵💫[/quote] I have an assistant runner at home for this. My bunny. Not sure if I'm chasing him or him me.. :D

@AlphaHowls ahhh those are fun. I once saw someone run a marathon on their apartment balcony during covid.....

2025 goals:* 2500km for the year. * Run a few races. Already signed up for a 25k in Feb called Frozen A** and a 50k in May, * Fastpack a few backpacking routes. Hmm what can I do for 3 day weekends and where it's snow free. * Loose another 5kg minimum, or more, probably more...anything past 5kg is a bonus and keep it…

2024 total mileage 2292.7l kms. Its a wee bit more than 2023 where I did 774.21kms less. December was 192 or 150ks goal. How the heck did I add 50% more mileage? Oh ya, I had some weight to lose/fats to burn ... Since Jan 2023, I've dropped some 20kgs. Have another 5 kgs to lose this year..... Great running everyone! Sorry…
-
I think thats called running a marathon....just throw in another 6.1 miles since you're past 2/3s .... :D
-
@kgirlhart @Laurz9191 @quilteryoyo @Teresa502 you folks are killing it! @AlphaHowls good points to ponder! @Daria0919 Did the plan say to press the lap button? Sometimes it does that and then if not, it thinks its over. It snowed overnight making for a rather slick run this morning. Had to change the gait plus tired legs…

171/150km so far. I seem to have underestimated this month..... :D I'm over 700km this year from last year. 2271km to date. I think I need to shoot for 2500kms for 2025. Number rhymes. :D Just did my first ruck walk in a while, 40lbs and 3km. That sucked, on a flat course. Definitely need more practice. I'm eyeing my first…

Nah it was just a tourist trip. Early 2000s I think. Loved the exhibits and launch pads they had plus one particular amusement ride which was the shuttle launch. It really had you on your back like the real shuttle. The shuttle was still in ops then. Would love to go back to visit.
