@skippygirlsmom ouch too glad you're mended @angf0679 just saw the nor'easter news. Eeew, happy we don't have those here. Then again, there is snowshoe running 😛😂

Nastiest thing we have here on land. Ran into this Grizzly mom and cub on a trail run once. I was so close I could see how shiny their fur was in the sunlight, old phone's grainy pic. Actually saw them follow/amble/chase a bunch of other hikers down a mountain pass. I think those hikers must have pooped their pants…

Trail run morning. More accurately ice walk. -1c/30f that felt more like -10c/14f with the brrrr north wind. I brought the Icebugs out knowing there probably be ice but had to actually turn around after a bit to go back to get the microspikes. Was skating even with the studs on the 'bugs. Needless to say it was nore stroll…

Happy running y'all. Liked all I saw. Am at 87 of 185km, a bit behind. Did a middly LSD 12k this morning. Dang cold at -5c after a week of summer mid temps. As usual took about 5k for the legs to loosen up. Did alt route and planned one was totally ice. Cold upwind, hot downwind. Cant win 🙄 Gorgeous morning tho, not a…

The plan, another anaerobic sprint interval tonight. But legs are sore and especially the old knees are achy. 2 daya of sprints this week did them in. Hangry too. Took a off day.
-
Thurs waa a recovery day so went on a walkabout. Stupidly windy tho. Sunmer is over. Tonight more sprints woot. Have to remember to use the turbo aka music, might go faster, something Im not used to lol. @chris_in_cal yep sprints helps provide a change in scenery.

Garmin threw me back out and had me doing sprint intervals which I actually enjoyed as it didn't involve my lungs much 😂 just muscle through it. Need to work on technique. I wasn't moving my arms much in true endurance running fashion. I could tell I haven't had much practice with the splits timing, which was as erratic as…

Yesterday Garmin had me doing Vo2max intervals. My lungs didn't like it. Couldn't get to and sustain the HR needed. Started wheezing during the run and stumbling during the recovery so stopped the session early. Oh the fun of having a restricted lung and cardio system. Just have to keep trying next time this comes up,…

@Mari33a so sorry to hear, my condolences

@nossmf during summer I usually wear a cap or a tennis visor. Does the same thing as a sweat band. Kinda fun watching sweat drip off the end of the visor, helps me know I worked hard enough lol.

Monday evening recovery day. Went walkabout. +9c warm! But sooooooo windy!!!
-
@skippygirlsmom lol that was exactly what I was asking of them, but they said no. @quilteryoyo that's what I figured lol Other fun cow pictures is running into them on a night race. White face junior Sparkles really didnt want to move, guarding the trail, i did ask nicely 🤨 bit of a stand off, and i was wondering why the…

Happy running all, 58 of 185km for the month. Short 5k run this Sun am. Paths were super icy and slick, then halfway it started to rain! Have to love this. All the cow pics reminded me of the time I had to go through this lot during a trail race. I decided it was safer to hop the fence and bushwhack after they started…

@kmp9881 @skippygirlsmom Moooo!! Love those

Sat was supposed to be a LSD but I pushed it and became threshold run 😂 Summer is back at 7c today. Wind was nasty at 31kmh/19mph especially when heading into it. Week ahead looks beautiful. Now where are my tees and shorts. Sheesh just a few weeks ago I was freezing at -28c.
-
Tried some speedwork tonight, ran out of lungs 2k in. At first if you dont succeed, just have to keep plugging away. On the plus side, there was stll some light left! Days are getting longer.
-
Recovery day yesterday so went walkabout on the Plus15, well mostly. In it they have some cool sculptures. Could do with some eyeliner
-
@ContraryMaryMary mooooo! Cute cow, yes gorgeous eyeliner and ear muffs too!

About fueling. I tend to run trail ultras up to 60k taking anywhere from 8 to 13 hours (this one was 60k and had 9100 feet of elevation gain and a hot day ugh 😭, a buddy asked if I'd do it again, nope, well maybe….), not competitive, I make the cut offs I'm happy. I take so long because I'm genetically anemic with…

@Mari33a sending light and prayers for your mom. @SummerSkier it usually is but to go from zone 2 to 4 hr without increasing pace is a bit weird I think.
-
Did a sleasy 6k unintentional tempo tonight. dr ChatGpt says it cardiac drift. Need to go down this rabbit hole. Was -1c but felt colder than that. Legs as usual took about 4k to warm up.
-
As soon as I say I'll take out the big guns, this happens, sigh. It's like washing the car, guaranteed will rain the next day. Incoming summer weather here, now I also have to dig out the swimsuit and suntan lotion…..😛😂 We have stupidly wild weather swings 😐️ @angf0679 yeah thats the other problem. I used to be a gym rat…

It finally warmed up! +1c/34f today. A chinook is here for the whole week! Supposed to get to +10c/50f this weekend woot! Now where are my shorts buried. Need to stock up on windshield washer fluid when it geta all splashy slurry. Garmin mommy told me to take slow and sleasy tonight but I decided to go for it and managed a…

@angf0679 I too, do not have a gym membership, mainly because I'm too cheap to pay for one but also too arsed to go to one, all that driving on slick roads 😥 @quilteryoyo these plus glove liners, so bulky 🤨 One day, when it's cold enough, I'm waiting for the -40c day to show, not if but when, these will show, with quilted…

YYummm Cheesecake....Ii run so I can eat.... @tarun_yadavA good time for skates 😜
-
Monday is a rest/recovery day so I went for a walk. -15c with the wind more like -21. Decided I should stop mucking around with the gloves and just go for the big guns instead.
-
@ContraryMaryMary send some of the nice warm weather my way will you? Not really looking forward to another 2 months of dreary white and colder than cold here…. @quilteryoyo hmmm maybe cheesecake power is needed for the next few months :P
-
Happy running y'all 18 of 185km for the month. Almost 10% there! 😂 @skippygirlsmom @quilteryoyo thanks! Decided to test longer today on the trails. -15c/5f light snow and foggy. Did 8k. Took about 4k for the knee to loosen up. Need to work on keeping my hands warm. Had overdressed a bit for the body, so it was hot! but the…

Thanks all. -12c/10f light snow this morning. Last night had trouble going down the stairs with the right knee. This morning thought felt better, went for a test run but still stiff and meh so it was short, a hobble we will go. Will go for a ruck later. Really pretty out with frost and snow.
-
Was supposed to do a threshold run this evening. -8c with light snow. Was doing good till I slid on ice. Note to self, look where you going when making a corner, waa checking for traffic. Lost the run's momentum. Ah well, am sure will feel it tomorrow in both knees.🙄 PS more knee souvenirs im sure this will buff out
