What province are you in? In Ontario you can see someone through the virtual urgent care service at CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) and that’s fully covered by OHIP. They can set you up with a referral to a psychiatrist for therapy that is paid for by OHIP. If you’re in another province let me know which one…

First of all, congrats on your transition! The best thing you can do for your mental health is be true to yourself. I’m so sorry to hear about the gastroparesis. That sounds miserable :( Good for you for doing the hard work to lose weight and get healthy! Good luck with school ❤️

I’ve only been at this since the beginning of June but my resting heart rate is down from 82 bpm in May to 69 bpm consistently over the last two weeks :)

Do you know if your feet are flat, neutral or high-arched? I have completely flat feet and overpronate (ankles bend in) and I buy Dr Scholls insoles on Amazon. I also have prescription orthotics but honestly the Dr Scholls are just as good. They help with shock absorption but also with appropriate arch support. Check out…

Growing up we ate a lot of junk too. I found that when I stopped eating my taste gradually changed so now the junk food tastes bad (too salty/sweet/greasy). If you can find a few healthy things you like now, in a month or so some of the other healthy things may start to taste better to you so you can expand your menu.

Thank you! The bloodwork was from before I started eating less/better but I probably get more potassium now without all that junk, so I will stay away from the supplements 😁

Thank you for the responses! My last blood test showed a normal potassium level, I just got a little worried that I’m not getting enough since I changed my eating habits because my food log shows I only ingest about 1500mg a day (typical RDA is around 4700mg). It’s probably just that the micronutrient info is missing from…

Thank you! I probably should have thought to check the website but I’ve only ever used the app!

Fitbit will recognize my swimming as “intense activity” but for some reason refuses to recognize it as exercise even when my heart rate is in the vigorous and peak ranges. I can manually log my exercise on the FitBit app but I’m already doing that on MFP so I hadn’t bothered. I can just start doing that to see an weekly…

I’ve tried quite a few protein powders but they all tasted terrible. I do eat these Pure Protein chocolate peanut caramel bars that have 20g of protein and are really good! I’m a supertaster so I can’t eat/drink anything with a large amount of artificial sweeteners because they taste like paint thinner to me. So far all…

My son lifts weights with a trainer at the gym (he’s 19 so I hired a trainer to make sure he learns how to do everything with proper form) and he counts his protein the way you do (grams of protein per pound of body weight) and uses the same target. I don’t think I could ever realistically eat that much protein but I’m…

Oh! I just used the default settings without thinking about it. Thanks for pointing that out! I’m going to go change it.

Thank you for the responses! This clears things up for me 😁

Thank you, this is so helpful! I will definitely set my protein goal higher, especially since most of my protein comes from non-animal sources so not as complete.
