Thanks for that. I gave up on trying to argue "nutrient timing" here. I know what works. As a college athlete, no one would have ever said "as long as you get enough electrolytes during the day, you won't need any gatorade going into the 4th quarter during a game in 100 degree weather, water will be just fine."

I know my peanut butter is legally allowed to have up to 152 insect parts and 10 rodent hairs per gallon, but I haven't slowed down on my PBJ's one bit!

Water, coffee, tea, even sodas, will hydrate you. Water still does nit's job. It's the other things in some of them that have adverse effects.

Just to be safe, I think I will start eating the tea bag and washing it down with water. but wait, it's going to start chemically changing in my stomach.. how long does that take? Do I count it as half-water then?

Good point. Also lots of stored glycogen was burned which flushes water with it, it can take more than 2 days for water levels to stabilize, it can even take weeks with drastic lifestyle changes. To lose 5 lbs of fat in 10 days, you'd have to be 1750 calories under every single day. Maybe you did?

I had a donut today instead of a peanut butter and jelly. I'll substitute, but a full on cheat meal can destroy everything you did through the week to cut a few calories here and there. I'll have aq cheat meal once a week when I get to maintenance.

Perfect example of why you need a program for your fitness level. I would cruise through power 90 without breaking a sweat. It wouldn't benefit me much. Insanity won't benefit you if you have to give up halfway through each exercise.

My last Army PT test (we run 2 miles) my total was 14:41... so about a 7:21 mile pace. I don't know if I could have kept it up for a 5k distance, maybe.
