  • OP you can take an after pic now before you get too deep into Ripped In 30. I had to find a "before" pic from 2 summers ago! Use your "after" pic of 30 DS as your beginning pic for Ripped In 30...
  • I think early 40's means 45 haha....anyway, I've been on this site for a while as well. I joined a year or so ago after looking for an app for my sister-in-law. I'm a big proponent of running....been doing it for a while...still do 3-4 half-marathons a year. I'm currently training for the Buffalo Half and my target time is…
  • When I first read this I thought it said "but the bad decisions u make when you're feeling the effects".lol But yeah, bad food decisions, too :)
  • Not another drinking thread. Man I drink all the time. Weigh what I weighed in high school. Stayed out til 2 am the other night, got 4 hrs sleep, then ran a 1:43 half-marathon the next morning. Think I'm gonna take my motorcycle to happy hour tonight :) Enjoy!
  • Doritoes. I'm training for a half-marathon and literally they are not allowed in the house lol. Still love my gin and tonics though! Most other things I can run off but not Doritoes..
  • Before I show you my results you have to know it's not going to be easy...you'll want to give up in the first few days....but if you stick with it you'll see amazing results! Be sure and take before and after pics - everyone forgets. I had to go and find one from 2 summers ago to see the difference. I felt such a…
  • I love to run! Last year I did 2 half marathons, a full marathon, an 8k and the Warrior Dash. I've already done 2 half-marathons this year and have 2 more scheduled. Next year is the Spartan Sprint and maybe another full!
  • I've never belonged to a gym, and I'm 45! lol. Weigh what I weighed in high school because I've always been a pretty good eater... That being said I run 3 times a week outdoors (M-W-S) with a long run (usually 8-10 miles) on the weekend. I usually do 3-4 half-marathons a year. I also do 30 DS or other circuit training in…
in Gym? Comment by kevin3344 April 2013
  • I usually use the 1 mile = 100 calories (per 9 min mile) as well. So 5 miles = 500 cals, 10 miles = 1,000 cals, etc. At least I know how much I need to run when I want desert :) When I run faster it's a little more, slower a little less. Anyway, today's run was something like this: 4 miles @ 9 min/mile MFP = 500 cals…
  • I didn't complete it in 30 straight days but yes, the scale will go up slightly the first week. It's a little bit unnerving because everyone sees all the great results! Don't worry your body will catch up by the time you get to Level 2. Of course, continue to eat right and drink water, but don't give up because you don't…
  • The key is to add friends so that they encourage you and you, them. When I joined initially it was for my sister-in-law, I never thought I would log on myself. Then I thought I'm at my goal weight and if I can encourage one person, hey it's worth it. Over a year later I'm still here and don't plan on leaving anytime soon.…
  • Welcome! Feel free to add me....been here over a year. Love it!
  • Same here, I did Level 1 for 5 days....Level 2 for 15 (the hardest IMO) and Level 3 for 10. Level 1 can fool you into thinking the DVD is easy....it's not! Most quit before Level 2 though, which is when you see the greatest results. The only advice I can give you is don't give up! You will be stronger and better after…
  • 1999 Lexus GS 400 - 195k 2008 Suzuki GSXR 750 - 7k I only drive my car in the summer if it rains!
  • I did Level 1 for 5 days, Level 2 for 15, Level 3 for 10. I didn't do it everyday because I also run and train for races, so it probably took me 40 days to complete it.
  • Haha, that's funny! I like 6W6P but it's a little longer than 30DS and RI30. The spider planks are killer!!! I'll probably go back to 30DS after this....I really saw (felt?) the best results with that DVD... ETA: the results in these 30DS threads have really been amazing...everyone should do this DVD! And for only 20…
  • Ripped In 30 is another one of Jillian's DVDs. Most do this one after 30 Day Shred. They are very similar although RI30 has a few new moves. RI 30 is 4 levels instead of 3.
  • I'll echo what others have said about BMR +TDEE...you'll probably find 1,400-1,500 is easier to manage. The MFP default for 2lbs / wk loss is 1,200 calories but most need more than that. As for 30 DS, do this DVD! It's awesome and for 20 minutes a day you'll have great results. Here is a thread with some before / afters…
  • Here is a thread with a lot of great results: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/345347-i-want-everyone-s-30-day-shred-results-pics-please My results are below.Like many I bought my first Jillian DVD 30 DS after seeing the before and after results on this site. I thought how bad could it be? lol. After 3 days I was so…
  • You can do it however you like. I did 5 days of level 1, 15 of level 2 (the hardest IMO), and 10 of level 3. I was also training for a race so it took me about 40 days to complete. I still saw great results!! I used 5 lb weights.
  • Great job! Your core looks so much stronger!! You'll love Ripped In 30 it's very similar to 30 DS with a few new moves.
  • Biggest misconception: exercise will make up for a bad diet. Now, as others have mentioned it's unlikely you gained 4 lbs of fat. It's probably mostly water. My question is, why do you feel the need to not log on the weekend? You can fit everything you eat, plus some room for snacks/treats, within MFP (as long as you work…
  • Lot's of pics in this thread...whatever you do, don't quit! :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/345347-i-want-everyone-s-30-day-shred-results-pics-please
  • I've seen lots of results for 30DS and this is one of the best. Just look at the definition in your abs, especially the side! Great job. I know how hard it is to make it through that DVD and not give up!!! Next you should try Ripped In 30...that's what I did and saw even *more* definition.
  • Height: 5'11" Age/Gender: 45/Male Highest weight- 175 lbs Current Weight- 170 lbs Current body fat - 17% Lowest weight- 165 lbs Goal weight- 170 lbs I've been a runner since h.s...it's always worked for me. I ran track but gave up running until about 10 years ago. I thought I was gonna pass out when I started up again lol.…
  • Great job, you'll love Level 2. Planks definitely work!
  • Anyone can add me, I'm not going anywhere. How do I know? Because I joined with no weight to lose! I only joined to encourage my family to log. Of course, I lost 5 lbs running and with Jillian's 30 Day Shred but it wasn't intended. I log daily and have an open diary. 400+ days (although my ticker says 100 because I missed…
  • Exactly. MFP shouldn't feel like a diet. I'm able to fit in wine, drinks, etc. just fine and I don't feel deprived. I would check your calories to see if you have them set too low, or if your exercise is really giving you the burn you think it is. I'm like you, I don't want to eat carrots and celery all day. If I go out…
