  • 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. $9 at Target or Walmart. Each workout is only 20-25 minutes for 30 days that you can do at home. I started it, and after 3 days I felt such a difference I bought her other DVD Ripped In 30. Both took me about 1 1/2 months to complete. I also run so didn't do it everyday. I'm doing another…
  • You can most certainly have coffee....I once ran a half-marathon and all I had was a cup of coffee. Not recommended btw ;) At any rate, I have mine 3-cream, 3-sugar and always account for it in my diary. Of course, I also run 2-3 days a week and do circuit training the other days. I probably work out or run 5-6 days a…
  • Just wanted mention this DVD is most certainly for newbies! She has an Expert and Beginner person with her in every video....of course, don't go so hard you quit the program! If you're in pain you probably did too much too soon. Yes, it's tough, but muscles not normally worked are going to hurt after any workout.
  • It's an awesome program! 3 days into 30 Day Shred I ordered Ripped In 30...that's how much of a difference I felt!! To be honest you need to eat as clean as possible during this time to have the best results. As far as days off, I completed 30 Day Shred in about 40 days (I was also training for a half-marathon) and Ripped…
  • As long as you have enough room to do planks it should work, you don't need a huge area. Of course, if your neighbors live upstairs they may mind all the jumping :) I've done 30 Day Shred and Ripped In 30. Doing 6 Week 6 Pack now. IMO there is nothing better for about 20 minutes a day! Btw, I went to Level 2 after 5 days…
  • I'm a big fan of running, been doing it for the better part of 25+ years and it's always worked for me....this year I've done 1-full marathon, 2-half-marathons, 2-8ks, and the Warrior Dash. I weigh pretty much what I weighed in high school. Having said that, I also do any Jillian Michael's DVD....been through 30 Day Shred,…
  • I went to Level 2 after 5 days...and it was MUCH harder! I thought 'how much harder can it be' and I could barely complete it!! Definitely a good workout though :) I've done 30 DS, Ripped In 30 and doing 6 Week 6 Pack now. All of Jillian's DVD's rock!
  • That's a great NSV! It's true the saying: "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" :)
  • Wow, great job. You should be proud!
  • This thread is too funny! Btw I'm 45. Life is definitely good :)
  • Good job! Just use a small img tag :)
  • My drink of choice is Bombay Gin and Tonic with a lime. I think it's 120 calories or so. I log it 3-4 times a week in my diary. I haven't given anything up, drinking or food-wise since I joined MFP about a year ago. I'm a runner and I run/workout/circuit train a lot. I've done a full marathon, half-marathon and 8k this…
  • There should be more to your goals than just weight. When I joined MFP I was pretty much at my goal weight, but fluctuated from 162 (training for a marathon) to 167 (which was my goal) to 172 (on vacation). I'm happy anywhere within that range. However, like you I didn't just want to be thin, I wanted to be fit. So I…
  • As someone who has been pretty much the same weight since h.s. (read, 25+ years!) I can honestly tell you whenever you can! I'm not a morning person so pretty much I've always worked out after work. However, when training for a half-marathon I run with the guys Sat/ Sun mornings. You need 2+ hours of daylight (and cooler…
  • Your hard work has certainly paid off! Great job!! :)
  • I used "circuit training" under cardio. To answer your question I usually run 2-3 times a week, so just that and the DVD. and try to eat as clean as possible! Eating is a lot of it so don't forget that. Even Jillian says on the DVD "you can eat your way through any amount of exercise". Also, if you miss a day or two don't…
  • Here are my results....(1) pic from last summer (2) after 30 day shred (3) after ripped in 30. Keep in mind RI 30 took me about 2 months to complete...there was a half-marathon in there and a trip to Mexico where we basically ate/drank all day. So that may have skewed the results ;) However, I'm very pleased and doing 6…
  • WOW, look at those abs! All your hard work has definitely paid off :)
  • You can do it! Just use the modifier until you work up to the expert person, who is a machine! I completed Ripped In 30 right after 30DS. It's very similar with a few new moves. I'm doing 6 Week 6 Pack now. I wll probably go back to 30 DS after or try one of her other DVDs after this....put in the work and you will love…
  • I did Level 1 for 5 days, Level 2 for 15 days, and Level 3 for 10 days. Level 1 is definitely the easiest and can fool you into thinking the DVD is easy. Not so! Once you get to Level 2 you'll realize it's anything but fun. Definitely a great workout :)
  • Haha, my friends call me Mr. Social Coordinator because I am always making events or throwing a party. We have a group in Raleigh that goes out every Thursday to different restaurants, and my friends and I rotate house parties. I've had over 100 people at my house and people are always asking when is my next party because…
  • Wow great job! You can definitely see the difference between Day #7 and #15. Keep up the good work!
  • Same here. Did 30DS in about 40 days. Did RI30 right after. Doing 6W6P now....I've never been fitter! We're all busy but it's 20-25 minutes a day...push through. Don't start over if you miss a day, just keep going....you'll definitely see amazing results!! Do a search in the forums for "30 Day Shred"...you'll find lots of…
  • I did 30DS, RI30, now doing 6W6P... :)
  • Awesome work man, great job.
  • I'm at 385 or so :)
  • I've never belonged to a gym. I've only ever ran outside and lifted free weights at home. I think the total investment was $50. However, if you are looking to tone I would do something like Jillian's 30 Day Shred. You can search the forums for results. You can use water bottles for weights for just starting out, or get a…
  • Most of this thread is focused on "make time" or "carve out 20 minutes a day". However, weight loss is not about working out. If it was, everyone in the gym would be fit. Weight loss is 99% what you are eating, and 1% exercise. You can achieve your goals without working out by eating clean and watching your calories. Of…
  • Some great results in this thread! You all look great! Here are mine...(1) Last summer (2) after Jillian's 30 Day Shred (3) after Ripped In 30.
  • Great job! I've also done 30 DS and Ripped In 30, and I'm doing 6W6P now. Love all of Jillian's DVDs. I'll probably go back to 30 DS after this or try another one. Great results!
