Got it. Thanks so much! Now I'll hold steady, try to find the courage not to freak if the scale sneaks up a bit at first, and wait for metabolism magic to kick in and be my friend. I'll report back with progress results in six weeks or so. Again, THANK YOU for sharing your experience and insights.

Thank you ingfit! Checking that out now.

So thankful for this thread. I'd appreciate someone who'd "got this" checking the below as my head is spinning: I get 1407 BMR and 2262 TDEE on http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced. Using the TDEE thread here (thanks Kiki!) I get 1350 RMR and 2222 TDEE. Soooo ... I've set my MFP daily goal to 1900…

I get 1407 BMR and 2262 TDEE on http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced. There's a problem with staying too low for too long. I've been at net 1200 (eating back most exercise calories) for some time on MFP. I have not lost anything since January (after dropping 11 August - January). I'm strength…

bump I'm reworking my approach after a long plateau, so very interested to hear more on this.

I would consider lifting heavier and eating more lean protein (within maintenance calorie number).

Great NSV!!!

Shirataki noodles are in the tofu area at our Whole Foods. Also: Tasted like worms made of salty slime. I'll take the calories and enjoy my barilla plus.

I've made my own with whole oats, almond butter, honey (optional) and dark chocolate (chips or powder). Form a loaf, slice into appropriate portions (I do 100 cals), wrap them in waxed paper, and refrigerate. Delicious and clean.

My paleo palz turned me on to this a while back. DH improvised an outrageously tasty "spanish rice" -- sautee with turmeric, smoked paprika, bell pepper and peas. A giant bowlful is like ... no calories. Enjoy!!

A sincere and hopefully helpful piece of advice: measure and log alcohol intake like any other calories. Measuring my half-cup of wine, vs. just pouring another top-up from the bottle, has cut my alcohol intake way down. It's one of the great things about MFP ... you literally see where you are spending the calories.

You can do it! Remember: One meal, one day at a time. It didn't go on all at once, and it might not come off fast, but will go in the right direction with a little effort. In six months you'll be glad you did. Welcome!

Blech. Thank you for posting. That is truly disgusting. Knowledge is power. I will NEVER order an "egg" thing there again. And btw -- the second ingredient? That's MSG by another name.

OMG is exactly right. Same weight, two different bodies. Beautiful results!

50 this year. : )

The Zilla: 35?

Precisely this. As the OP, I did not blame her for making America fat. I blame her for taking buckets of money from a drug company. The hypocrisy is just disgusting.

Shocked or whatever? .... because she is now taking money to become a spokesperson for treatment of a devastating disease that is caused by behaviors she's been promoting. Shocked or whatever? .... because she has led people over a cliff for years and now she gets to get paid for what? Shocked or whatever? .... because…

^This person = very wise. Lots of nutrition and satiety in those 1200 cals! Certainly not everyone is suited to the same formula, but I've come to appreciate how I feel when I'm not over-fueled. FWIW, my grandma ate "like a bird." She never missed a meal, but she never filled her plate either. She lived to 102 and was…

^This. I'm very full right now on a 300-calorie dinner of bean soup and spinach pie. Being limited to 1200 has been a great learning experience. I have learned after five months to make calories count, not drink them up at Starbucks or on too much alcohol. Big salads are good. Fill the plate with veggies and leave little…

I've lost 10 pounds since August and I'm thrilled. Women our age simply aren't going to lose fast. Just keep in mind that the rate you're losing is sustainable and maintainable. You are heading in the right direction. You are doing things right. Breathe in, then out, and keep on making progress at the pace your body is…

I feel that way when I'm fighting a virus. Usually after a few days it either passes or I'm fully sick (and done wondering why the tired hit so hard). I'd give it another week, and if it doesn't pass, see a doctor.

Short capp or latte. More than 8 oz of milk? No way. Flavored syrup? Can't afford it. I'd rather eat my calories.

You've got my attention! : )
