  • My goal is 1200 but when you add back in the exercise calories I can go up to at least 1800 on any given day. I usually stay around1250-1400.
  • a heaping spoonful of peanut butter. Seems kinda gross now...I love peanut butter on toast and sandwiches, but not by itself any more!
  • 130 for me. I get the weird reactions when I tell people that I still have 40 pounds to go...but when I have pics of my self at that weight and I like how I look. So that's the ### for me!
  • I phased into it slowly by getting up 10-15 min early and then gradually increasing that time until I was up and hour early. I also sleep in my workout clothes...that really helped too. Good luck, I know you can do this!
  • I'm shooting for both...I figure by getting fit I will also become skinny!
  • No worries there...I've already slowed down. Weight came off so quickly in August and is much slower in Sept. but I'm okay with that...slow and steady wins the race right?
  • I'm working out on avg 7 days a week and plan a rest day during the week if I need it. I found the same thing you did-I'd go over on the weekends and then it'd take a few days to get back on track so I felt like my progress was stalling. Because I have more time on the weekends I do my most intense workouts then and a…
  • I get up at 4 every week day to exercise but I don't eat breakfast till around 6:30. I found though that the more intense my routine got the more I started to feel sick to my stomach. So I have now started eating just a little snack before I work out (a piece of a granola bar or something like that). It has worked…
  • Go out there and enjoy yourself! You will see people of all shapes and sizes on race day! The energy you will experience around the other participants is incredible!
  • I'm constantly on the go from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. so I decided that the only way that I was going to get workouts done was to get up early. Been at it for almost 2 months and so far so good...I started with only 15 minutes early and gradually worked my way up to an hour early.
  • I've lost 22 and have 47 to go to my goal. Would love to be friends...add me if you'd like!
  • Let me clarify ...I didn't mean take a full course meal...but I carry nutritious snacks and such in my purse for just this occasion. That manage is not going to ask you to leave for pulling out a sandwich baggy for of almonds and raisins or something like that. It's not tacky, and quite often the people I'm with are…
  • Take your own? That way you get to eat with everyone else while still feeling good about your choices. Or before ordering anything ask for a nutrition sheet...it'll show what the best options are!
  • I was going to say the same thing, but I also thought maybe you are sleeping with your mouth open and breathing through your mouth is drying it out?
  • I am going to eat what I want, but keep track of my calories and compensate by stepping up my workouts in December. So afraid of going backwards!!!!
  • Fantastic! So proud of you!
  • I used to snack all the time at work, but this year I started leaving my cash at home and taking snacks (bag of carrots, almonds and raisins, etc.) and it has helped tremendously!
  • I agree to an extent-that how you raise and treat a dog greatly affects how they react to you. That being said, I've had two shepherds of my own (grew up with them as well) and they were all raised the same way and treated the same way, but just like people every dog has their own distinct personality. My male dog was…
  • A friend who is a vet tells me that pits, rottis, and akitas are the most unpredictable-doesn't mean they can't be great dogs but they can also be less than reliable in the temperment department. We have shepherds and they adore our kids and vice versa. Labs can be high strung, especially as puppies so training is very…
  • I think a big part depends on the type of dog. Both my kids have grown up with dogs since the day they came home from the hospital and we've never had a problem. You just need to be diligent in protecting both the baby and the dog (babies like to pull ears and tails and climb all over the pups).
  • I was just getting ready to post that St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost/stolen articles. Not creepy at all, one time I had lost my checkbook for almost 3 weeks. Was completely stressed about it. One afternoon while searching in tears I just sat down on the couch looked up and said "Okay God, I could really use some…
  • A "cup" is 8 ounces of water. I found a favorite glass of mine and measured how much it held...that way I don't always have to measure the water. A water bottle is roughly 2 cups. As for the sandwich bread, it depends. Check the serving size on the bread package.
  • Glad you found MFP! It's made the beginning of my weight loss journey so easy! I'm not an expert by any means so I don't have any advice to offer on how to get those last 20 pounds off, but wanted to welcome you! Good luck with the last leg of this journey!
  • Thank you everybody! Will give all your suggestions a try!
  • I don't think it ages you at all...I think it's quite pretty and you look great! In all honesty, I think friends who say things like that are the type of people who make themselves feel better by demeaning others, sometimes subtly, sometimes not so. I think the black sweater looks okay, but I'd love to see you in the dress…
  • Faculty Meeting today...MUST resist the temptations! MUST resist the temptations.
  • Thanks! Yes it was the virtual model...will have to play around with that today!
  • I'm glad I asked! I never would've figured that out! Now, can anyone tell me where to get one of those pictures? I really like them and would love to have one for my signature!
  • Hi everybody! I am just starting my 18th year of teaching (all at the same elementary school). I've taught 2nd-4th grades and am currently staying put as a 4th grade writing teacher. Most days I love my job-except when we are testing or pushing papers! I've struggled with my weight for years (stress, difficult marriage,…
  • I'd be interested too...but how does it work?
