  • That makes sense to me and helps me understand one of the trends I see...H2O #goes down, my BF #tends to go up as does my weight. Nothing significant but a trend I've noticed. I supposed that's one of the reasons I was curious if anyone had any insight or knowledge of what it should be. I found a few articles online but I…
  • Thanks...I know the smart scales are not absolutely accurate-but it does give me markers to compare and THAT is what works for me, holds me accountable to myself if that makes sense. I look at all the data-not just water %-but also take it for what it's worth. Yes there are fluctuations and I take into account what else…
  • Any reason why? That's an honest question...admittedly I don't have a deep understanding of how all these numbers work independently or together other than the basics. I'm not worried or stressed out about it but just curious to learn from anyone out there who has more knowledge than I do.
  • I'm not an expert by any means, and I can't see your diary to see if your situation is the same as mine...but I found that when I allowed my protein intake to stay low (unintentionally) I felt exhausted, dragging, and lethargic. Once I increased my protein (though I still can't seem to reach goal...) I felt a lot better.
  • This is my mindset as well. When I first lost all of my weight I was working out daily, and many people chastised me for never taking a rest day but I felt awful if I didn't exercise in some way, shape, or form. And I do love food...and want to be able to enjoy it so the daily workouts allowed me to do so. I take my big…
  • Jogging description is vague because my jogging is vague! LOL...it's definitely not intense but it's a goal I have, though something I struggle with because of my back so it's usually short stretches with walking in between A couple years ago I got to where I could run 5 miles, and then my feet starting going numb. Turns…
  • Right now mostly cardio (elliptical) and walking/jogging around the neighborhood. I try to get in 5-10 miles between the two combined. I want to start doing some weights as well...but can't afford the gym and not sure where to begin at home... I know I need some diversity in my workouts, but I'm somewhat limitted due to…
  • From a logical standpoint I know and understand this...I've got some fixin to do in the way my mind operates when it comes to this concept :\
  • I weigh daily (keeps me on target) before breakfast but only record on Friday mornings, because that's how I determine if I allow myself one "cheat meal" (if you can call it that...usually means a slice of pizza and a small bowl of ice cream but still within my calories) or not on Friday evenings.
  • This...life happens! I'm 42, had lost 70 pounds and was down to my high school weight when life hit like a ton of bricks...suddenly over the course of a year I was faced with my grandfather's death, my mother in the hospital with a ruptured appendix, a new position at work which did NOT go as well as I had hoped, and back…
  • I have an Octane and LOVE it! It was about $2000, but worth every penny. I tried several less expensive ones at a variety of stores but they just felt cheap and I didn't feel secure on them. Mine doesn't take up too much space (it's tucked into the corner of my bedroom). And when I moved houses the movers didn't have any…
  • If I'm feeling fatigued I rest. If it's just sniffles I push through. You've got to listen to your body-if you push yourself when your body is screaming at you to rest then you will only make yourself worse and take longer to recover. "Rest" can either be cutting back on time or speed, or cutting out the workout for the…
  • Sitting at the kitchen table this morning getting my vitamins out and one slipped from my hand into my lap. I quickly squeezed by legs together to keep it from falling to the floor...it still fell...who knew I had a thigh gap now (never in my life...ever have I had a thigh gap!)
  • That is a HUGE NSV! So happy for you!
  • Pizza, Ice Cream, Cookies, Brownies, Cheeseburgers...I haven't given up a single thing and I've managed to lose 65 pounds. Everything in moderation...
  • I'm way out in El Paso! Add me if you like...
  • I've had several people tell me that...so one day I finally just asked "how much do you think I weigh!?" I was shocked to hear they thought I was about 105-110 pounds (I was 145 at the time). Once I told them that they said "Oh, well you look great but I guess you would be okay to lose 10 more then..." It's their…
  • I'm a teacher and a single working mom of two very busy kids. Translate: I am constantly on the go. For a long time I thought I didn't have time either, and I couldn't see where I was supposed to fit it into my day with homework, activities, house cleaning, etc. But finally I made it work. I discovered if I got up early…
  • bump
  • Daily-it keeps me focused and has helped me gain a better understanding of how my "off" days affect my body.
  • I increased my calories recently-though it wasn't on purpose. I was hungry and listened to my body. It took some time...but I broke through a plateau and lost a pound and half while eating 1800-2000 a day. I think the key is to listen to your body-if it's hungry then it needs fuel.
  • I have these too! Love them and love the visual reminder of how far I've come!
  • I pop mine in the microwave in a paper bag all of the time. I just throw a handful into a brown paper lunch sack, fold it over twice and stand it up in the microwave. Mine only needs to cook for 2:15 (not as long as store bought microwave popcorn)...so watch that (you'll probably burn the first batch of two until you…
  • I'm in the same boat with the last 10 pounds but I don't consider it defeat. I'm at a healthy weight right now so this may just be my body's "goal weight". I've come to the conclusion that I'm better off calling what my mind wants my goal to be my "wish weight". Sometimes wishes come true and sometimes they don't...if they…
  • bump Looks delicious!
  • I think it's very respectful. :) If your wife is comfortable with you commenting I don't see anything wrong with it, but I admire you for your concern for her!
