I totally agree with Mae from above about the hormone's changing in your brain. I think and feel completely different about food, hunger, cravings, desires after my RNY surgery. I eat to live and food doesn't control me any longer. It's not JUST shrinking your stomach or removing your intestines, the surgery does so much…

I'm 9 years post RNY and I need to lose 15 lbs too! 20 would be ideal, but I'd be very content with 15.

Hi! I had RNY in 2006. The five day pouch test really helps me to get back on track, following the rules and losing weight. I don't really feel my pouch like the test is supposed to do, but I know I can't eat over 1.5 cups of food. Now, I've been focusing on protein shakes and following the rules so my portion sizes are…

I had RNY. The DS is so interesting. Off topic, but what made you choose that surgery especially if there aren't knowledgeable people around to help you?

I had RNY in 2006. I gained 20 lbs back (besides prego weight) and I'm working on getting it back off :) Good Luck to you! Let me know if you have questions! My suggestion is to always follow the basic rules: protein first, don't eat with your meals, drink lots of water, take your vitamins and stick to smaller portions…

I had Gastric Bypass RNY surgery in 2006. I'd have to say it was a lot easier than having to lose the weight on my own. I don't know how, but this surgery changed everything. It changed my perception on food. It is indescribable. I have no cravings for fried fast food. I went down the wrong road of eating sweets again, but…

I enjoy the Premier Protein Chocolate Shakes 30 grams 160 calories. These can be found at Sam's club too. And I drink EAS Chocolate Fudge ready to drink shakes. One 17 oz bottle has 42 grams of protein and 300 calories. I drink half of those at a time. They seem to keep me satiated longer than the 30 grams of premier…

I'm almost 9 years out from Gastric Bypass RNY surgery. I had gained a good 15/20 lbs back due to not following the rules. Go back to the basics, the rules! Avoid other people giving advice that has not had the surgery. Your body is not like anyone else's who has not had this surgery. What helped me to get back on track is…

Save some calories.

Wow!!! Very nice job. I'm sure the loss in weight had beneficial factors too! :) I was just about to post another post/question. I wonder why milk has carbs, but cheese, cream cheese, sour cream and butter have very low carbs. I'm not a BIG carb eater, so doing low carbs is "easy" for me.. but I do love my skim milk!! :(

Not just "low carb", but "low carb AND high fat". Thanks. Last week, I started Low Carb, but my fat isn't high. I was considering switching it this week.

The spray cans of oil aren't low calorie either if you continue to spray and spray and spray!

Nice hard work!!

Is it honest or super negative?... Any post could be read either way.... The mood you are in determines what mood the post will be read. Good Luck!

Super awesome!!

I had this problem when I drank those packets that you put in your water.. the protein packets or crystal light packets.. those things were horrible for me!!! I love plain water!

I gave up sweet N low since Jan 1st and I LOVED my sweet N low in my coffee. I craved my coffee because it was sweetened with my sweet N low. After 30 days, I gave up coffee because it was bland and not a craving anymore. I used to drink 2 cups a day. A month after giving up coffee, I just noticed that my cravings and…

Congratulations!!! Running is fun and awesome! My goal is to work on speed this year too!

Me too!!!! I love going to the gym so exercise is not a problem, but food is! I do good, I lose, then I fall off the wagon.. it's like some self destruction!

Super awesome job! I'm glad that the reunion went well!

If you use the TDEE, then don't eat back your exercise calories. Just eat the 1600 calories everyday and continue to keep the activity level at what you set the TDEE at. Then you should lose weight. It will be slow, but you should lose at that TDEE.

We are like twins.. I'm at the 162 weight though! Congratulations!

The HRM is not an absolute. It's a guide. And a good one at that! I recommend working out hard with your watch, for example, running fast on a treadmill. This is to the point that you can't talk and feel like you are going to collapse. But don't faint or hurt yourself. Look to see what the watch says. If it says your HR is…

Exercise is super easy for me. I love my gym. Eating healthy is really easy for me! I love veggies. Staying under calories and away from sweets are the hardest part.. this is why I'm not successful.

Great post. the words of wisdom and the pics! Thank you and nice job!

We like to place a defrosted piece of salmon on aluminum foil (after spraing some olive oil so it doesn't stick) then adding some sliced tomatoes, minced garlic, sliced onions, some low sodium soy sauce and put it in the oven for 30 minutes @ 400 degrees. It's really tasty to us. Good Luck!

If you contact Polar, they will tell you it is ONLY accurate when working out. Anything below a certain Heart RAte and it is not accurate. Email them, they will tell you the truth.

I'm eating close to 2k cals a day and working out 5-6 days a week. Some days I burn 600-800 calories according to my HRM. Last week, I ran 20 miles! 2 days are strength training. I've been on a higher caloried diet since beginning March and I'm just gaining gaining! I don't get it. It was so easy before to eat 1200-1400…

Please don't say "personal trainers suck".. not all of them do. For a real personal trainer, you have to spend big bucks.. the "cheap" ones are barely educated, barely have real life experience and say stupid statements like the one you got. If your personal trainer is closer to $70/hour then they probably know what they…
