100 grams is quite adequate. I'm a vegetarian and I eat plenty of carbs and believe me, I've gained plenty of muscle.

This sounds like my story. I have a friend I haven't seen in awhile, and she got engaged, which is fantastic. She sent me a couple of her engagement photos and she had gained sooooo much. I would just suggest adding a protein powder like whey or egg protein into your diet. That way you still eat all the good stuff, but by including the protein powder, you change the ratio of carbs to protein.

I am at 1630 calories just to maintain, and then yesterday I had a great run where I burned almost 400 calories so I had over 2,000 calories to eat. Eat all of your calories!

I have a heart murmur and a heart arrythmia so I have the same problem you have sometimes. Neither of these conditions are life-threatening so I can do anything I want. My doc just told me to stop anytime I have chest pain (which is a good rule of thumb for anyone really).
