I don't know where you are going, but just think of the things that are good for you. Lean meats, beans, whole grains, fruits and veggies... and make good choices. There probably won't be anything that is just screaming at you to order it because it's healthy, but with the principles of healthy foods and portion control in…

I'm on the side that says just eat a chicken finger! You're not going to die or gain 20 pounds because you had a chicken finger. There are no bad foods, just bad portion sizes.

Do you have some time to cook for yourself on the weekends?

Weight Watchers works. If it doesn't it must have been my imagination that is was just voted one of the top weight loss plans... Weight Watchers helps you learn to eat less high calorie, high fat foods and more nutrient dense, lower calorie foods by assigning more points to the higher calorie foods and fewer points to the…

Seeing the change is what keeps me motivated. Buying a size four pair of jeans for the first time in my life was a huge step in the right direction. :)

Steel cut oats are great. Make yourself some whole grain waffles and stick them in the freezer for when you need a quick breakfast. Fruit and cereal. A yogurt parfait with fruit and ganola. Breakfast burrito So many delicious options!!!

I fill it out in the morning and then adjust it later if I find I ate some different or added additional beverages or whatever. It's not set in stone, but it's nice to see the plan laid out.

Brown rice, whole wheat bread, beans...these are all good complex carbs. I would probably eat them about an hour or an hour and a half before exercising.

This is only true if it's a liquid the same consistency of water or milk.

Well, from your ticker it looks like you are losing weight so you must be making the right choices. :-) When I have something out at a restaurant or at a friend's house, I just try to make a good estimation of what I ate with similar foods I find in the database and "eyeball" my portion size. For instance, if you know a…

I would bring a few snacks that you like (just say it was for the roadtrip there or something) and possibly even suggest going grocery shopping with them when you get there. If they're extremely set in their ways about having take out or going out to eat, just remember to make good choices and eat appropriately sized…

What kind of coleslaw are we talking about? Mayo based or vinegar based? That would help me make up my mind a little better. But my choice would probably be the Spanish fish fry.

You can do P90X without the pull up bar. I didn't get one and I just take the time they're doing pull ups and do push-ups instead. Ok, it's not the same thing and doesn't work the same muscles, but it's better to do something rather than nothing, right? :) As for the weights problem... anything you have that weighs a good…

Good for you! Scale be damned!

A pound a week is a good setting. If you think that switching to 1/2 pound a week might shake things up, then go ahead and try it. What could it hurt? :) But maybe the goal that you set for yourself is not realistic for your particular body. Our bodies only know a few different ways to speak to us, and by holding onto…

I could do without. I like MFP because of the community and the tracking over time of other goals (not just the food tracking). I tend to log in less on busy days or the weekends but I still make good choices those days, and now that I am at a weight I am comfortable with, I've found even with the non-logging days, my…

Thanks everyone! I'm thinking of getting a bike and biking to work now that I know it's a pretty easy and manageable distance. And the diagnosis is back on my car... the ignition cylinder is busted. They're fixing it and hope to have it done by this evening!

Congrats to you and Hope (by the way, it's probably your tricep that you felt... :)

5'7" and 130 pounds. I'm 5'4" and 126. I think you're probably at a healthy weight and your body is trying to tell you that it doesn't need you to lose weight. Maybe you should look at your goals and reevaluate? It's probably not weight loss that you need and rather you need to work on muscle development and tone.

You can make salmon salad sandwiches (like tuna just with salmon). I would suggest a some lemon juice, lots of dried dill and vegan mayo (no egg yolks). I also like to mix the salmon into soups. A good example is the Campbell's V8 corn chower. That fish mixed into there really well and tastes good!

Ooh, typo!

A little refined white flour is included sometimes to help with the texture (from someone who works in food manufacturing)

I think that for the most part people on MFP are going to say it would influence their decision because they're focused on what they are putting into their body for some kind of fitness goal (be it losing weight, gaining weight, gaining muscle or whatever). But most American consumers don't care. That can be evidenced by…

I work in food manufacturing. Corn syrup is used for a reason. Yes, it's cheap, but it has certain properties that make it desirable for use in many baked goods. Do you like soft baked cookies? Corn syrup. Do you like ice cream that isn't grainy? Corn syrup. Just to name a few...

That's total B.S. And, if that vegan woman knew anything...she would know some vegans do eat honey. It's a debated topic, and the "official stance" from the vegan community is that honey is not allowed, but there are those rascals who still do. And who frickin' cares if you buy honey or not? It's none of her business!

Zinc promotes wound healing.

I would be interested in seeing the responses to this too. I'm not doing primal at all. I've been doing P90X on a vegetarian diet (high carb, moderate protein), and I've loved the results I've seen in myself. But I think it would be interesting to see who else is not following their diet plan to the letter and how…

Almond milk and a vegan muffin might be a good idea [vegan = no milk, eggs or honey...look for recipes online. I like the recipes from Vegetarian Times website becaue you can customize your search results easily]
