  • I'm a student also. I study at home, though which is easier in a way, harder in others. Its really tough trying to juggle study, kids, work and health. When I concentrate on my fitness and health I usually end up a little rubbish at everything else and I hate that. I'm too much of a perfectionist not to feel down about…
  • The same for me. I used to panick if I looked different and would run to the fridge - I just thought I was sabotaging mysefl. Now I see myself changing and I still panick a little but I'm getting used to the idea. No running to the fridge as yet which is nice. I don't know why I was so fearful of changing, I think it was…
  • I have the same problem, it seems like its the last place for weight to come off! It would be nice to look good in a top or dress but no, will just have to keep plodding on. At least my legs look ok ;-)
  • Last Saturday (oops) Whens the last time you saw the sunrise?
  • nicotine, alcohol, soda, sugar, chocolate bars, pasta, dairy...
  • Perhaps the tape is more accurate when taking full body measurements, but I have found taking waist measurements just as unreliable as the scale in the short term. I guess I just rely on effort and time. If I put the effort in over a certain amount of time I should see results eventually - but sometimes I get a bit…
  • I agree, I think MFP overestimates exercise calories - so if I eat all mine I don't lose, but I start to lose when I'm closer to 1200.
  • ^^ totally agree - I think the search for perfection was more important than it is today - philosphy, art all these things took time - time we don't have in this day and age. Mind you some waste the little time they have in front of the tv.
  • I don't know if anyone else has said this but I like Army of me by bjork - the lyrics keep me going when I exercise
  • awwww, way cool! You should be so proud ;)
  • My hubby has a physical job and a six pack - he's pretty slim yet he is also overweight according to BMI - and they use BMI for life insurance!
  • Calorie wise this might be true - but nutrition wise its not. At 500 cal your hardly getting any nutrients, but you are getting a lot more at 1200 even though you are using up more calories you have more nutrients/vitamins etc. 500 cal doesn't provide that.
  • I love fennel - I've bought it a few times and it rotted in my cupboard because I didn't know what to do with it. A few weeks ago I was reintroduced to it and used it in some recipes, it is delish and I wonder why I hadn't tried it before!
  • Cheat days totally messed me up for days at a time. I think I will limit it to 2 free meals a week and see how I get on - having free meals is a little more flexible since you can have it at any time. You go out and decide to eat out that can be one free meal. But I'll see how it goes anyway - personally as much as I would…
  • sitting for long periods of time irritates me too. I have one of those wobble cushions which keeps you moving but I don't use it because its pretty uncomfortable. A gym ball would be great to sit but then not good for the work place. Can you have a standing desk? Or possible stand up every few minutes to give your back a…
  • I going to be a bit cheeky and say water!! ;-p
  • I would have a tonne of chocolate chip cookies (the big gooey ones) Mountains of chocolate all different kinds. Doughnuts, cream cakes, pizzas, garlic bread, macaroni cheese.... goodness I'm hungry now this is not a fair game! I would probably raid a costa coffee shop and take all the cakes and slices. Homemade lasagne…
  • I have a herniated disc and I've put it out many times and have recovered many times. How bad is it - are you able to walk? When I've done mine bad I walk a great deal and use 'miracle balls' for relaxation it really works coupled with painkillers and I'm back to exercising within a couple of weeks or so but it honestly…
  • I wish that would happen to me :( there are always chicken fillets!
  • Did day 1 level 1 today and it was a tough workout (I cried) - but pretty straightforward. I have a herniated disc, so I usually find most workouts cause me pain rather than burn. This one was different. I found the exercises extremely hard work but not painful, and easily modified if they caused strain unlike some awkward…
  • I'm apple too - skinnish legs, no butt - all boobs and gut, hate it. I'm so jealous of people who lose it on the upper half first, they tend to look normal sooner and I still look like a piggy (sorry)
  • I have struggled with this for a long time, nearly all exercises irritate my back. I won't get in a pool (bathing suit a no-no). I stick to stationary bike for short bursts (longer if I can handle it), weight training upper body only, walking. I do a lot of HIIT on the bike. I also do cardio and modify a lot of the moves -…
  • I have to reiterate that plus size models are a size 8 (UK12) and in the uk plus size starts at either size 10 (UK14) or 12 (UK16). Our body image is totally warped. I watched a documentary called thin - I thought all the girls looked fine and healthy and wished I looked like them, each one of them was receiving treatment…
  • getting enough sleep actually increases weight loss by lowering cortisol levels (I think) so sleep is important, whenever you can fit it in sleeeeeep!!!
  • don't get wrapped up in what other people do - it only leads to stress. Try watching someone down pizza's and still lose weight - its frustrating - my conclusion is life isn't fair (it isn't). So why worry. Concentrate on you, do what works for you and ignore everyone else. Every time you resist her tempting foods reward…
  • My husband eats like a pig and yet he's of athletic build. I put on so much weight after years of being with him that I've had to say enough and eat how I need to eat. Sometimes that means I don't always eat evening meals with him. It used to bug him because he never knew what I'd be eating but he's gotten used to it and…
  • Mine too, mine too :)
  • The serving size is to help you measure in 'portions' so what ever portion that is you type in. It doesn't have to be a cup it could be anything. So if 50g of egg mayo is approx 2 tablespoons - then put 2 tablespoons in the serving size. If you have 50g of biscuits and that equals 2 biscuits you type 2 biscuits in the…
  • capers, I can't stand the smell or taste yuk!
  • aww poor kitty, he might start bringing you those horrible food parcels (mice) soon in an effort to make you more comfy again! Fantastic work!
