use dr bronners castile liquid soap on your hair and olive soap on your body. Both contain only fat and lye which is all soap ingredients needs. Use a little vinegar instead of fabric softener in your laundry or better yet just use soapnuts for all your laundry (no need for softener) and soda crystals/soap for stain…

I can't stand it when people eat in front of me! If I have a drink and we're talking then thats fine. If they are a cute child then I'm ok with that too. Otherwise beware, because I end up complaining at plate scraping, lip smacking, chewing open-mouthed, crumb droppage and everything. I just have to walk away. I did think…

I'm going to jump in (apologise to caroline) and say that the graphic is probably from www.mvm.com The site is called my virtual model and I'm not sure that it has a male version - I've had a look and I don't think you can switch genders which is rather boring (and sexist)

I think you are doing pretty well. Like others have said I would try to increase the vegetables, include at least 2 -3 different veggies (non-starchy) with your dinner and don't worry about calories because veggies take up hardly any. You can change your nutrient ratios in your goals tab to reflect any changes you have…

Have a look on ebay or similar, people are always getting rid of unwanted exercise equipment. You could pick up a bargain. Also there's a great book called 'you are your own gym' - which has loads of body weight exercises for every muscle and you only need household items and yourself!

Certain foods sometimes stall people, usually cheese and gluten. You could try cutting down on these if you consume a lot. Your exercise may need to be increased in intensity or length - it doesn't have to be a lot, just a small amount that you can live with. You might not be drinking enough water, double check that - if…

Welcome to MFP José! Family gatherings and dinner parties are the worst! You feel you have to eat to be polite, then once you do all hell breaks loose. I survive by eating healthy before I go, then nibbling at foods I know I can eat. People are usually so busy talking and eating as long as you look like you have food on…

You can get a break down of muscle from both cardio and weight lifting. However, on rest days from weight lifting your body builds the muscles back up to be even stronger than before. Cardio does burn fat, but whatever burns fat will also burn muscle - thats how it works. Body builders lose muscle when cutting, but they…

I changed my protein/carbs/fat ratios to 40,30,30 to reflect my paleo diet. You can do this by going into your goals and adjusting them manually. I don't go over my fats any more but I still find it difficult to get the protein in. I'm not too worried at the minute as my blood sugars are responding quite well and hopefull…

What an amazing achievement! Its proof that you are getting fitter and healthier everyday!

I have berry pancakes from the primal blueprint - totally addicted to them - they are made with egg though but it doesn't taste like egg because you whip the egg whites so it tastes more like dessert like souffle. Left over dinners are great. As are egg shakes with berries - sounds gross but its actually quite nice.…

I love it. Every day I have to check my newsfeed to see how others are doing and to make sure I keep at what I'm doing. I love the encouragement I get and I love giving encouragement too. It keeps me motivated, I don't want to fail because I will let my MFP friends down so I keep going. I'm fairly new though, so maybe I'm…

I am the same as you - if I eat bread I will gain the next day - if I don't I usually lose or stay the same. I've tried keto diets though and they worked for me in the short term but in the long term I didn't lose weight. It was very strict. At the moment I'm on paleo which is still low carb but incorporates fruit and lots…

Fantastic, well done! I'm celebrating my 10th day today and I hope that in 90 days I'll be where you are and I will be a little lighter and smaller. Congrats on a wonderful achievement!

You can actually go without in baking. I've baked quite a few recipes with fruits, nuts and eggs and they have come out so sweet I didn't need any sugar. Although, I still only eat these type of things occasionally and don't make a habit of it. I haven't found a suitable sweetener yet and I've tried many. I get my recipes…

I did a weight training program once. I took my measurements as the weeks went by. My arms and legs got smaller and more muscular but my stomach got bigger, strangely. When I took sugar out of my diet my stomach started to shrink a little, but it never went back to what it was - I am still working on getting it smaller now…

^^ exactly, if you do gain weight, it will only be water weight with the stored carbs - not fat.

Are you able to eat nuts? They are packed with energy - be careful though you can easily go over you calorie amount with only a few handfuls!

I was a lot like you, I could live without veggies, went on atkins - lost weight for the first 2 weeks and then didn't lose a pound for months. Now I'm paleo I get to eat lots of vegetables and although it was hard at first, I love veggies now and couldn't live without them. Try out a few recipes online, its takes a bit of…

(Melissa you sound so much like me! Lack of family support is disheartening!) I would love to join the challenge. I already have a goal of losing weight by the end of September so this will be a real boost to motivation. My name is Sandra and I have been a member of MFP for a nearly a week now. I want to join because I've…

I was, I couldn't lose at all. I tried everything, stopped eating but the weight I lost came back on after I started eating again - I was moody and very hungry. I switched to paleo. Lots of veggies, meat/fish, fruits and no dairy or grains. I'm eating primal blueprint and finally I'm seeing some weight lost, but time will…

I've gone through very dark patches where I've found it difficult to stick to a diet or exercise plan. Its awful when you are in that state of mind because nothing seems to help. Even when I asked family members for help it didn't really help me, it just made things worse. I knew what I had to do, they knew what I had to…

I can't really say about the calories as I'm not too sure. There are calorie checkers online for general takeaway food. I can't really eat takeaway as it gives me palpitations - think it must be the sugar or additives or something. But the last time I had chinese I practiced tight portion control and had fruit for dessert…

I am often under my calorie goal - not always but more often than not. It does worry me sometimes that I might be too low but I think if you're genuinely not hungry then you shouldn't really force yourself to eat. Thats my opinion. I used to force feed myself a lot, because I felt guilty if I didn't eat all of a meal…

Welcome to MFP, I'm a fairly new member also and I just can't believe how amazing it is - seriously I pay for another site and its nowhere near as good as this. Plus I can link this to my facebook to give me extra motivation! I really love it. Welcome!!

Do not fret too much, if you have kept to your calorie allowance then it can't be fat gain. Its most probably water gain which can fluctuate up to 5lbs! Especially since it has come on quite fast (this is usually water weight) - and usually before TOM we can retain water. Try not to weigh yourself every day as this can…

I've read that much of our sodium intake comes from foods with high sodium rather than added table salt at meal times. If you cut out cheese for instance, you cut out a great deal of your sodium intake (obviously only if you eat cheese) - much more than if you just stopped sprinkling salt on your food.
-
The calories should be counted automatically, just weigh each food, add them to your meal and then set the portions - it should tell you the calories.

Since going paleo my appetite is not as it was. I'm pretty pleased with this and I'm certainly not going to force myself to eat when I'm not hungry but I've also noticed that if I'm upset I will hold off eating. I used to eat a ton when I was upset, which is why I'm fat lol. But I do tend to hold off eating now - I'm not…

Welcome Rachel, Thanks for adding me. I lost 2.5 stone over 5 years it was a real struggle. I decided to do BFL for 12 weeks to get the last few stones off and ended up putting on 2 stone in 6 weeks! I was devastated. (Thats not to say BFL is a bad program, the diet just didn't work for me for various reasons) So I kind of…
