Does such a creature exist in the male gender? I used to have a long list that was comprised of the wrong things......my mother told me to look for the following: 1. Had a job and wants to keep it. 2. No drugs, smoking and excessive drinking. 3. Takes out the trash 4. Knows how to fix things. 5. Sense of humor I had to add…

I'm another Coke Zero addict. I have a list of changes to make in my life and am doing them gradually. I have the task of adjusting my relationship with Coke Zero at the bottom of my list because it will be the most difficult for me. I totally understand how bad it is, but one day at a time for me. I wish I could explain…

One more thing......IF you are only taking in 800 calories a day now, why haven't you already lost the weight? That doesn't really make sense to me? How did you ever reach 280 pounds that way? I am 5'10" and to get up to 310 pounds, I was eating whole pizzas and drinking Mountain Dew by the 2-litre bottle, plus bags of…

I think maybe the reason some members think that you don't want to do the work is because you've come to a new site and not read any of the rules or suggestions given to you prior to posting. These informational posts state that you should try searching for any answer in the archives prior to posting a question. There is a…

Jealousy and fear that you will change inside when you change outside. Keep up the great attitude and work!

I am female and bought the black FT7 for men to have the larger size. You can set it up for men or women. It has the options in settings.

I have been instructed that your net calories must be at least 1,000 per day, preferably 1,200 in order to maximize weight loss. Otherwise you risk your body storing.

If you are trying to lose weight and not here as an athelete or body builder, you should count all sugars together for your daily limit. Yes, fruits are better for you, healthwise, then processed sugars, but they all count toward your daily sugar intake. I see nutritionists and weight loss doctors and have been told that…

Two servings of fruit a day is optimal. Sugar, in any form, counts as sugar. Eating sugar can make you crave sugar, so it's best to keep it in check. If you can stay under 14grams of sugar per serving, you can help alleviate the cravings. Sugar from fruits is better than processed sugar, but it still should be limited in…

I try to avoid pasta because your body best processes carbs when you eat them in portions of less than 23 grams per meal/serving. This is for WEIGHT LOSS purposes, not for body building or sports nutrition. Whole wheat pasta is healthier, but it still provides large amounts of carbs for the size of the serving and once you…

I take a multivitamin and Viactiv Calcium Plus Vitamin D. However, after a blood panel, I found I was extremely low in Vitamin D, so my doctor added 4000 iu of D3 per day and because of my chronic fatigue syndrome, he added Vitamin B12. I do not add any supplements or vitamins without knowing what my body needs. It's easy…

Don't go too extreme on anything.....I hate to disagree with someone here, but a bodybuilder's diet is VERY different from an overweight person. They are going for a very different goal. Based on what my nutritionist has been telling me, I think your caloric intake is slightly high. Try to stay under 1500 and only eat back…

Mine is private because I am focused on following a very specific program designed for me by my doctor and nutritionists. I have to account to each of them once a month. MFP members do NOT agree on what is considered a "healthy diet" and I do not want people questioning my choices and distracting me. ALSO, I am not…

I think that you have to do what works for you. You might do best if you do not link diet and exercise as all or nothing. I have lost 50 pounds with very little exercise, just watching what I eat and following a prescribed eating plan. If you can practice healthy eating 7 days a week and exercise when you are available to…

I think that you should go to your doctor and have a full blood panel done to be sure that you are not deficient in any specific vitamin because just starting to take supplements and vitamins can be dangerous. Make sure you do not have Epstein-Barre Virus and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Make sure you don't have high blood…

Many of you commenting that WLS is not for you are correct, if your tickers are accurate. In order to even qualify for weight loss surgery you must be at least 100 pounds overweight, have a BMI of 40 or more (though if you are 35 and have two co-morbidities, you can be considered). You have to have a history of…

Leynak: The person you are describing could have had her band adjusted if she was getting stuck every time she ate, or she could have adjusted the type of feed she ate so she did not get stuck. If you follow your doctor's orders, you go in from time to time for an adjustment in your band. It NEVER should get to the point…

jillybeanruns.....I have no objections to INFORMED opinions, dispensing factual information. You look like a jogger from your photo. I have no experience with jogging, so I would never comment on a thread asking for my opinion on jogging topics. If you have not had weight loss surgery yourself, or undergone the education…

Congratulations on a job spectacularly done! You are a real inspiration to all of us and even though I don't "know" you, I am sooooo proud of you and happy for you! Thanks for sharing your success with us and please let us know how you are doing. Keep up the great work and you are so right.....this is NOT a race.

I use the inhaler.

The uninformed and extremely judgmental opinions about WLS are one of the main reasons I question, on an almost daily basis, being here on MFP. First of all, there is a HUGE difference between having Gastric Bypass and Lap Band surgeries as far as risk. Lap band surgery can be reversed and is a very simple procedure. Next,…

A huge part of being successful and keeping the weight loss is actually LEARNING the nutrition and how to put your meals together. The yo-yo dieter is famous for trying one diet after another because it takes so much effort to go through the entire process of learning and retraining yourself. Consider this time spent as an…

Troy, I mean no nastiness, but I'm sorry, I is NOT the "EASY" way to loose weight with weight loss surgery, as you imply by saying that you did it "the hard way". I have had to do a total and complete lifestyle change JUST to get permission to have the band surgery. I've been through hell just to go through hundreds of…

I had a hiatal hernia which is located right where your diaphragm enters your stomach. After surgery, I was allowed to walk, but I was not allowed to do any other training at all for at least 8 weeks. Walking is good though. Good luck!

I try to be supportive and positive to everyone, but, frankly, this is just nothing something you SHOULD do, and extremely doubtful that it is something you COULD do. If you make this attempt, it is very likely you will gain weight or lose nothing because you will throw you body into starvation mode. Let's say that you…

I will post once again.....My lapband operation was 10/1/2010. Have lost 50 pounds. Would have been more but I had a hernia operation at the same time, which kept them from filling the band until February and then I had to have a major ear surgery that necessitated the band be deflated from June until a few weeks ago. I…

Patricia: 25 years ago, the surgery was a completely different animal than it is today. Heck it's different than 5 years ago. You had an open surgery and now it's done laproscopically. Just recently, I hear that the band is being done with a single incision through the naval now to avoid a scar! It was much more dangerous…

I was on both Ritalin and Adderall and YES, I gained weight after I got off of it. After Ritalin worked for 15 years, I have a new doctor who is trying to say I am NOT ADD.....what a tool. Gonna give her a couple of visits and if she doesn't change her mind, I'm going back to my primary who WILL prescribe it. I don't want…

My nutritionists told me that there is no sense in taking more than 30 grams of protein at one time because it is all your body can process in one meal.
