Good to do if you're sitting at a traffic light...

That makes sense--thanks for the reply! I think I'm going to keep running.

Both sleep and exercise are great for your overall health and well being! I get as much of both in whenever I can! I'm thankful if I get enough of each of them in.

I was doing 5 - 6 days a week. Now that I'm training for a 10K I do 4 x week.

Hmmm... I average about 3 lbs. per month and have lost 16 lbs so far. If you were a professional weight lifter or athlete, maybe you could? It takes a whole lot of activity to burn off that kind of weight. I know how you feel though. On the other hand, maybe try for toning and shaping. My first 8 lbs took 3.5 inches off my…

Minimum a 30 minute walk. Right now I'm training for a 10K so I'm following a running schedule--about 45-60 min running 4 x per week with a cross-train day (45 min) and 2 rest days. On my rest days I walk.

The best way I know is to get a food scale and weigh everything in the recipe, and then break it down into servings. MFP will have most ingredients and you can enter in a recipe here, under your diary, and then "create recipe", I think. I did it with chili. As far as your question about the calories before cooking the…

Don't let it get you down. After the diet I'd had the past few days I gained 7 lbs within one day. Obviously water retention from sodium. We all go through the plateau. Remember, to keep your weight in check it's a lifestyle, not just progress. Try to keep your workouts up and food choices healthy. Let yourself eat pizza…

Wow, you can really tell!

I eat in the evening--sometimes dinner doesn't get prepared until after 8pm. I'd rather eat when we can all eat together as a family.

Love it! Great job!!!!!

I average 3 lbs per month--so maybe I say 6 lbs? I'm in for that much!

Check out SkinnyTaste.com. There is a way to look up gluten free, low calorie recipes.

I got lots of tone from a ski machine. For me, running doesn't change much of the jiggle. It's more of a calorie burner and good for lungs.

^^I like this!^^

I hear ya! For Halloween our daycare sent our (then) 10 month old son home with a big ole' bag o' candy!!! He doesn't even have teeth yet! I immediately gave the candy away to our neighbors. Hubby likes to bring home chocolate ice cream, and have chocolate or almond filled croissants for breakfasts on the weekends. I might…

I chose my highest weight after pregnancy, though I did list on my profile my highest pregnancy weight. It was only a difference of about 6 lbs though.

I get lethargic and hungry shortly after. Simple carbs, that is. I do better to have some protein.

Those 15 lbs are more likely to stay off than if you'd lost them in 3 months. :drinker: :flowerforyou:

Wow! Fantastic job! You look fantastic--and most importantly happy!:flowerforyou:

Woooohoooooo! Weigh to go!!!!! :flowerforyou: :drinker:

Um... I think advice like that would upset me. I am doing well to log things, even the bad stuff. I also write notes to see how I'm feeling those days and look back to check my diet vs. mood & weight, etc. That sort of advice would deter me from logging. :brokenheart:

Have you considered the zig-zag approach? Depending on your height, most people's metabolism slows below 1,200 calories/day. You might do well to (carefully) up your calories on alternating days so your metabolism stays revved up. Congrats on your loss!!!:flowerforyou:

Not sure about Snap fitness, but I say ANY fitness center works if you work it! Just go. I don't currently go to one (can't afford it now), but when I do go, I ALWAYS FEEL BETTER! Just get in there, and do anything--that's when you start moving, and feel like keeping it up once you get there.:flowerforyou:

Thanks for the advice. I checked out the sites & got a good regimen planned.

Wanting my clothes to fit again! A full length mirror--it really helps! My trip back home this Christmas--I wanna look good when I get back. All my friends and family need to see how good I look after having a baby! The way I feel when I'm in shape--'the MORE you move, the more you CAN move'.

I suggest getting a piece of plywood to put on top of the carpet, big enough for your scale. A soda box might be sort of the same thing, but a nice, thick, 3/4 inch piece of plywood might really do the trick. I think it's going to be pretty hard to find a scale that's accurate on the carpet, unless you physically mount it…

Hello everyone! My name is Melissa, also with a nickname "Missiles" like the other Melissa on here--because a child I used to babysit couldn't pronounce my name either. I'm about 3 classes away from finishing my Geography BA, currently a SAHM to an 11 month old son, happily married. I've always been fascinated by the body…
