No weight loss, but inches gone!
Anyone else? I've been Keto for 20 days, yo-yoing between 182-178, but have lost 3" around my waist (my problem area).

Buffalo wing calories?
We got the frozen bag of Purdue buffalo wings from Costco, where it lists the serving size as "3oz edible portion (84g)". Does this mean I should weigh them before cooking, then subtract the weight of what I don't eat after?

Yoga--how to log?
Hi folks! I've been doing yoga for the past month (4-5x week) and I'd like to log it. But I don't know how--it's not really cardio or weights, but it's challenging and I'm feeling so much better! Thoughts?

Running/nursing bra for large cup size?
I'm due in 2 weeks, currently a 38H--last time I got up to 38J while BFing. Anyone know of a good SUPPORTIVE nursing/running bra that doesn't end in size D? It would be nice to not have to run with 3 bras on for a change...

Lifting while pregnant?
Just wondered--I'm due in 7-8 weeks, and my bike up and down the stairs (4th floor) every day for work is getting difficult. I'm active--I work in a shop so I'm on my feet a bunch and do lots of fairly physical things, as well as bike to work and back. When I lifted weights before, the stairs were much easier. I was also a…

Time to work out/good diet w/work schedule. Suggestions?
I wake up at 5:00am to get to work by 7 (commute by subway), and finish work at 3:30 or 6:30, depending on the day. If I finish at 3:30, I get home at 4:30, do dishes & laundry & cleaning for an hour, then pick up our son at daycare at 6pm, then dinner, and bedtime story, baby in bath, I get a shower (I work with lots of…

Anyone else doing a juice cleanse/ fast?
I'm on day 9 of 40 with my hubby. We're doing home-made juices, as much as we want, supplemented with chlorophyll, spirulina, and nutritional yeast. First thing in the morning and last thing before bed is psyllium husks, apple cider vinegar, and Sonne's 7 (bentonite clay). Just wondering if anyone else here is doing…

Running schedule--best to skip every other day? Or okay 3 d
I am working up to a 1/2 marathon, currently up to about 7 miles. I've been training 3-4 days a week, making sure to have plenty of healing/recovery time between runs, and only do 1 long run per week. I've seen so many training schedules out there, I wonder which amount of recovery time is best? I just found a schedule…

Weight bearing exercise over age 35?
So, I keep reading that those under 35 benefit from weight bearing exercises--increasing calcium, bone density, cartilage thickness, etc. I'm almost 39, female--wouldn't those things still happen for me--but just at a lower level? HGH production is supposed to decrease in your 20's. Wondering about supplementing with…

Runners: How to train for 10K by 12/18/11?
I just ran 6K today, just to see how I'd do. I stopped running there because my knees told me to. I figure I can work my way up to 10K if I got this far. My questions are: 1. Should I run again tomorrow? How far and at what intensity? (I did a 9.4 min/mile pace today, which was good enough for me to be relaxed and not too…

Drinkers... low(ish) cal White Russian!
Just tried it on a whim. You should mix your own blend of whatever of these you like the most, but... Espresso, almond milk, vodka, vanilla flavoring. You could add sweetener but I didn't need it since the espresso was so strong. Totally tastes like a white russian (without being so heavy). All this ended up being under…

Who's here because of baby weight?
Just wondered. I weighed more than I ever have after having a baby. I am simply curious who else is on the weight loss/fitness quest because of that?

If calories are posted on a menu board, are/were you likely
I live in NYC where most chains are required to post calories--such as Starbucks, McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, Chicken places, etc. Was talking to my father-in-law about this and I asked if the calorie listing changed what he would normally order. He laughed and answered "no". He also doesn't live here, so he's really out…

Home exercisers: What's a good Netflix series to watch whil
I walk outside carrying my son which burns lots of calories, but I also take advantage of naptime--or I'd be out there running/hiking, what have you. I don't have cable (too costly) and the only thing that keeps me from being bored on the ski machine is whatever is on Netflix. I tried Hulu Plus but it doesn't seem to have…

Small NSV vs. actual weight loss
I am only down 10 lbs... and then the scale went up again this morning. (I do believe it's water again...is it really possible to have gained that much muscle???) So In just over a month my waist has gone from 37" to 32.75 inches! Sooo glad to have the measuring tape or I'd be really discouraged.

Oil calories in packed foods?
I love canned and jarred(sp?) items--like tuna, sardines, mushrooms, oysters, artichoke hearts... I know some things are packed in oil. Maybe I'm over thinking things, but I don't consume most of the oil--not that I can help. I drain it off, sometimes rinse it off as well. Would that change the calorie count?

Energy levels--what do you notice?
I notice my energy levels are better when I'm more hydrated. Also I'm more energetic when I work out regularly--duh... Also when I have enough protein my levels are more stable. Carbs wear me down unless I'm active ALL the time--like when I used to run, wait tables, bike everywhere. I can't live like that now that I have…

Which do you use more, the scale or measuring?
I started out only using the scale, but thought I'd try measuring just because the option was on MFP. I know I've posted this on my profile a couple times--sorry if it's a repeat. I am so glad to have the measurements to fall back on because every week where I've gained weight on the scale, I still had a reduction in…

High fructose corn syrup...
Anyone else notice this on foods? I saw "no high fructose corn syrup" on the front of a loaf of bread. When I checked the ingredients, one of the top ones was "fructose corn syrup". Don't they just have to move the corn syrup up in the list to allow just the same amount of sugar to be in the bread, rather than down on the…

Love my new spiral slicer for veggies--pic included!!!
I slice yellow squash, Mexican squash, set atop a little water in a glass baking pan, add some feta, sliced grape tomatoes, oregano, basil, parmesan, then lastly some mild squirts of olive oil. Add mushrooms if you like. Delish!

Bras vs. HRM/calorie monitor straps--question...
I am investigating heart rate/calorie monitors. I notice most of the watches require that you wear a chest strap. How does this work around wearing a bra? Is it better to get one that doesn't need a chest strap? I found one but it seems to cost more. If you wear a strap all day to monitor calories does it get gross? Or is…

Sinful tasting but delicious and rich!

Veggie noodles!!! (What veggies to use for spiral slicer?)
I got a spiral slicer for making "noodles" out of vegetables. So far I've had good success with zucchini and yellow squash. Any other suggestions for low calorie veggies to use? I tried carrots but they don't slice so well raw. (I did get a julienne slicer for carrots.) Potatoes slice well, but don't stay together as well,…

New here, Hello!
Just starting on this diet thing as of about a week ago, and I've lost 3 lbs. so far. I have a 7 month old baby and I'd like to get back to my pre-pregnancy size. I really like the fitnesspal android app--I have to say it's really helped me a whole bunch.
