Small NSV vs. actual weight loss

I am only down 10 lbs... and then the scale went up again this morning. (I do believe it's water again...is it really possible to have gained that much muscle???)
So In just over a month my waist has gone from 37" to 32.75 inches! Sooo glad to have the measuring tape or I'd be really discouraged.

Water is the bane of my existence! My weight goes up about 3 pounds if I'm retaining water -- but don't be discouraged, it's only water I'm a huge fan of the tape measure, too!0

Could be muscle. I started a real intense training program a week ago. Burning almost 900 calories each time. I think I've gained about 2lbs, but I know I've slimmed down!
Muscle will burn more calories than fat, so you might go up at first as you build your underlying muscle, but then your weight will start dropping as the fat starts getting burned away.
I could be totally wrong too Just my theory anyway.
