I've been using MFP for a couple of years on and off, but I have been very steady for over two weeks now. I, too, am looking for more friends to help keep me motivated. Feel free to add me!

I look at it this way: I try to stay within my 1200 cal allotment. If I exercise, then go over on my calories, I don't feel so bad. I am having a hard time coming to terms with my tracker saying I am not eating enough calories. 3500 calories = 1 pound. By eating 1200 calories (which is about 1300 less than I was eating)…

One of my "go to" recipes when I don't have much time is grilled chicken breast (seasoned, of course) topped with salsa and a little bit of cheese. I use mozzarella most because it is lower in fat and calories than many of the other cheeses I like. Just cook the chicken, top with salsa (which has very few calories) and…

It's actually best to walk, then jog, then walk, then job...the change in pace increases your metabolism and burns more calories. I'm doing the C25K with my hubby, and we have a 1 mile route mapped out in our neighborhood, and we just use that. We don't have to pay any gym fees! Since I started doing C25K two weeks ago,…

I don't know how much I gain because I avoid the scale during TOM, but I am EXCEPTIONALLY hungry! I think I'll have to keep tracking like I have been and see what I gain - and just remember to not become discouraged.

I work 12 hour shifts (as a nurse) and I find that I eat before I go to work, then once at work, then a little something in my stomach before I lay down again (it helps me sleep better.) If I don't have to work the following night, I might skip the breakfast, then have lunch, then dinner with the family. It's hard to…

Welcome, Mike! I think your intro was just right! It's great that you figured out what your problem was. I think my husband has that problem, too, but he's not quite ready to get on here and track is diet like I do. He did walk a mile with me today, so it's a step in the right direction. Keep up the good work! Feel free to…

Wow...95 seems awfully thin...make sure you're not shooting for a weight that is TOO low.
-
yes, it does. I burned 150+ calories walking around the mall trying to find shoes for my husband. Log it as leisure 2.0 mph. And when I know I'm eating like crap, I try to get some more exercise in to counterbalance it.

I'm 5'1" and my goal is 125...but like most people, I'll see how I look/feel when I get there!

sounds YUMMY!!! I make a meatloaf with ground turkey and sausage. It is SOOOO good! The kids even like it!

Its actually not good to judge your weight loss on a daily basis. Your body fluctuates from day to day. Focus on losing one pound at a time, and you'll get where you want to be. :-)

I don't go there, but I live near there. I'll be going there after I finish my Bachelor's to get my Master's.

Hi Deanna! I'm Trisha...been doing MFP for about 2-3 weeks consistently. I too downloaded the app on my Droid a month or so ago. I've lost two pounds so far, but I'm waiting until Monday to weigh myself again. (I had a couple of bad days this week!). I love how supportive and helpful everyone here is, and I find myself…

for a light dessert for my family, I did 1/4 cup sf banana pudding, 1/4 sliced banana, 1/4 cup sf chocolate pudding, 1/4 sliced strawberries, topped with 2 tbsp lite whipped cream. It was around 100 calories or so, SO delish and the kids LOVED it! My personal favorite snack isn't dessert at all, but I like fresh sliced…

Maybe focusing on smaller goals will be better for you until you get closer to your ultimate goal. Try shooting for 50 lb goals, then once you get to a certain point, focus more on where you want to end up. :-) Good luck on your journey! Sounds like you've made great strides already!

I had the same kind of night. I helped out with a Veggie Tales Princess and the Popstar event at our church. There was pizza, cupcakes, banana splits, pink lemonade. I had pizza and a cupcake. I stayed away from the ice cream though. I'm afraid to get on the scale today! Don't feel so bad about your bad day. I've had a bad…

I have a similar problem. I work two nights and one day 12 hour shift a week. After two more weeks, I'll be doing 3-6 12 hour shifts a week. I don't know when to track which meals! If you feel the need to eat every few hours, I would suggest eating smaller meals. Use about 200 calories each, or find some really low calorie…

Thanks for sharing! I feel SO guilty about going over my calories, but you make me see it's not the end of the world. My biggest obstacle is exercising. I work 3 12-hour shifts a week, and after leaving the house at 6:30 and getting home at 8:30, I do NOT want to work out! But I'm not giving up!

Which side is more distended? As a nurse, my first thought is enlargement of whichever organ (liver or spleen) is on that side. There could also be some intestinal distention. Do you feel OK otherwise? Not abdominal cramping, pain or tenderness on the larger side? Not trying to make you think something is wrong, but those…

Welcome back! How did you lose the 50 lbs so far? That's an incredible achievement!

Making this tomorrow! I can't wait to try it!

My morning coffee is a calorie killer! And the sugar! OMW! The coffee itself isn't so bad, but I have to have the flavored creamers. I used 1.5 tbsp of Bailey's Chocolate and 1.5 tbsp of Peppermint Mocha. Just those 3 little tablespoons equal 113 calories. And I usually have THREE cups of coffee every morning!

What a great victory and birthday present! Congratulations!

I am new here as well. Welcome! I think having someone to share your thoughts, fears, successes, and even failures with will make all the difference in the world! Just keep going, and if you have an off day, just start fresh tomorrow! Feel free to add me!

My five minute breakfast this morning: 2 fried egg whites (with cooking spray, not butter) 1 slice honey ham 1 slice provolone cheese 1 slice honey wheat toast with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray very fast, filling, and grand total of 204 calories!

For diet food, I have been eating the Michelina's Lean Gourmet...they are quite tasty, usually under 300 cals, and even the sodium isn't outrageous. And the best part....they're like $1 - $1.25 each! And SO easy to take to work for lunch! I've also been very good with my salads...I make a nice big salad with 1 cup of…

Congrats, Betsy! I'm new here, too...and also a college student! I'm not doing any particular program, just watching what I eat and keeping track of everything. I'm trying to get my husband more motivated to join me in exercising, but that's not an easy task. Keep up the good work!

We had a meeting at our church last night and I knew the food was going to be delicious, but OH so bad for me! About an hour before we left, I ate a big plate of sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers lightly drizzled with EVOO and sprinkled with Nature's Seasoning. It was SOOO good! And when we got to our meeting,…
