  • There is an issue the last few days with fitbit not syncing with MFP. I walked almost 9K steps today, but gave me only 20 calories. It is normally 300 or more for a work day. MFP is working on fixing the problem.
  • Welcome tedevancho! I have been using MFP for a couple of years. I have had my ups and downs, but am on a new journey to keep moving down! Congrats on the great start! Feel free to add me as a friend if you need a motivator. :-)

  • I understand, Layla... I just got on the scale today and realized I have gained everything I lost a couple of years ago, plus half!! I am at my heaviest I have ever been. The only thing we can do is take it one day at a time, and make each day the best we can. The rest will sort itself out. Hang in there and try to smile!…
  • Where in Bradenton?
  • Kudos to you for taking this first step. This is a GREAT place to make new friends and find the support you're looking for. I will add you as a friend! The main advice I can give you is this: don't get discouraged if you have a bad day or two...just focus on each day and do the best you can. The goal is overall weight…
  • I had the same issue...lost 18 pounds last year, maintained it for the most part, then had 2 1/2 months off work for a medical problem and gained 20 back. I'm 8 pounds from where I was at my lightest, and my goal is to be below that before my doctor's appt at the end of Feb. Good luck getting back on track!!
  • Jessica, The most important thing is to just start moving. I started my weight loss by walking a mile at least 3 or 4 days a week. I'm now working up to doing a 5K, walking and/or jogging 2 or 3 miles 3 or 4 days a week. The hardest part (being a mom) is finding the time. But remember, your health is more important than…
  • It is very true that healthy is not considered "normal" anymore. I think that if more of us start getting healthy, and spreading the knowledge and inspiring those around us to do the same, we can bring healthy back to the status quo! Keep up the good work! And as a nurse, I can't imagine saying anything negative about a…
  • I had that happen when I took a job delivering packages. I lose 25 pounds in less than six months just from the extra movement, but my husband never said a word. He's now the ex-husband, and I have a husband who loves me no matter what I weigh, but he always notices my effort and my results!
  • Well, I FINALLY started again...at week one. It actually was pretty easy! I had to improvise for the last couple of jogs, though, because my husband called and for some reason it stopped the app. I might have to break down and get a paid app instead of a free one. Any suggestions?
  • Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I will do it. I know I'll feel good easily finishing the first few weeks. :-)
  • Carliee, I think it's important to educate that girl on the difference between fad dieting, and making healthy lifestyle changes to improve yourself.
  • I've been away from running for several days because of work and illness. I will walk today since I've been sick for three days, but I will go for a repeat of W4D2 tomorrow, just since I've been away from it. I'll let y'all know how it goes! Happy Running!
  • Thanks!!! :-) I felt SOOOO accomplished!
  • I'm with you on that one!
  • Thanks! I surprised myself finishing that quick.
  • Thanks for sharing your journey...you look GREAT! How long from the first pic to the last?
  • My thoughts exactly Jessica! My first marriage didn't work out because we were so young and didn't really know ourselves, let alone each other. My second marriage has been better than I could have ever imagined it to be! I really did marry my best friend and I can't imagine my life without him in it. If you have to think…
  • ok...W4D1 of C25K...almost did it all, but had to stop running half-way through the 2nd 5 minute run...it was either walk or pass out...I chose to walk. I did, however, walk the last minute plus another 30 secs, then another minute during the cool down, so I ran the full time (plus 5 minutes during my 1 mile pre-warm-up).…
  • JMC, that is truly a beautiful pic! What an exciting trip that must have been!
  • I changed mine a few weeks back for more inspiration. My hubby and I are going to Hawaii in May, and this is a view from the hotel we'll be staying at, and a pretty flower for my slider! I look at it all the time and it keeps me motivated! 5-10 more to go before the 5th of May!!!
  • my husband's friend came over today and I had not seen him in a while, but the first words out of his mouth were, "Don't lose any more weight, it's not healthy." I just looked at him and said, I'm doing it the healthy way, and I've only lost 15/40 pounds so far. I'm glad he noticed the loss, but did he really have to say…
  • Look up a pound of fat on google...you'll see that is more than "only". Great job, Kevin! BTW...how do you add your signature line with your name and goals? I had mine posted once before, but removed it, now I can't figure out how to add it back in!
  • Wow...it's been a week since I did my W3D2, but I did W3D3 today and it felt GREAT! I worked 5 days in a row, then had major shoulder pain yesterday and the day before, so I think I'm not doing too bad. Here's to starting week 4, probably tomorrow!
  • Leave everything in your car except the door key. You can tie that to your shoelaces and tuck it in the top laces so it doesn't flop around.
  • Perhaps just getting out and walking every day will help get your strength back up to where you feel like going to the gym again. Once you see your body starting to tone again, you should be more inspired to do more to tone it up. I am a nurse and I know that being sick for lengthy periods of time can really wreak havoc on…
  • And did you....continue running?
  • Good luck tomorrow!!!!
  • OK...I repeated W3D2 with my step-son running with me tonight. AFTER working all day (12 hours)! So yay me! My step-son has already run a half marathon @ 13 years old and came in 3rd in his age group, but he was a sport and stuck around for my slow butt! It was fun and it actually helped ease my sore muscles from the 30…
  • Rocky, you have to have friends who have open diaries as well. When they post on your home page that they completed their diary for the day, there is a link that says "View Diary". Feel free to add me. I don't mind sharing at all!
