  • Edited cause I replied to the wrong post. Nevermiiinnddd...but I'm loving these confessions.
  • This schedule may work for you in the early stages when workouts are shorter and less complicated. As you go into later stages, the workouts get longer, harder and they incorporate some cardio, so you'll probably have to back off on all those other cardio days when you get there. I did very little cardio during NROLFW -…
  • I finished up the program in January of this year. I was pretty thin before I started from years of running and starving but it was "skinny fat" with zero definition. I gained 6 pounds and I believe most of that is muscle. I'm firmer all over and curvier-looking - I have a firm, curvy butt now - before it was a saggy mess.…
  • I started at 41 and I love it. I was a total runner/cardio queen but I'm never going back to that - lifting heavy and eating more is much more fun! Get the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" and follow the workouts in it. Good luck!
  • Love your suit in the profile pic - you look beautiful! Oops edited...I was trying to reply to Spicy618. Fail.
  • Just put on a deadlift clinic at my gym yesterday...haha! Most weight ever @ 135 lbs. I am 5'4" and 116 lbs.
  • I've tried a bunch of them, but regular baby powder works best for me - and it's cheap! The best one I ever used was Bumble and Bumble powder BEFORE they made it into a spray. Sadly, that is now discontinued.
  • After finishing the last stage of NROLFW two weeks ago, I bought and skimmed through the New Rules of Lifting for Abs, and it looked so confusing and complex that I decided to put that off and just re-start NROLFW. I still consider myself a beginner and my goal is to build strength and muscle, and I think NROLFW will keep…
  • My goal was not to lose weight. I started out "skinny fat" (109 lbs @ 5'4") - thin but weak from years of running and not eating much - so I wanted to build muscle, and I totally have. I've lost a little room around my waist, but gained in my hips, legs, and arms. I've gained 7 pounds as of yesterday in 6 months, which has…
  • I ordered "New Rules of Lifting for Abs" yesterday and I'll be ordering this latest one as soon as it's available. I am in Stage 7 of NROLFW and I don't think I could keep up all the progress that I've made without a set plan to follow. I have loved this book, so...I'm in for whatever these guys put out there!
  • Nope, changed my mind. NOT skipping it. The purpose of this Stage is to help with building strength and muscle, and I'm down with that. I'm only shortchanging my own goals if I skip it. So...onward!
  • Hi, ladies! I am 42 years old, single (but I have a very nice long-term boyfriend :)) and no kids. I started NROLFW in July after a lifetime of cardio-only exercise - mostly running, some distance. I was thin before I started but very weak. I've loved the challenge of getting out of my comfort zone in the weight room, but…
  • Maybe I'll skip it. I would love to be able to do a pull-up, but clearly I'm not anywhere near ready for that. Thanks girls.
  • I bought mine at Publix at Peachtree Battle in Atlanta.
  • I was actually looking for the Xtreme/Ole Mexican Foods brand when I found these because I have had those before - but they are hard to find, and I actually like the texture and nutritional stats of the La Tortilla factory better...that's just my taste.
  • I tried the front squat push press today with a curl bar, since the gym I went to does not have the fixed-weight barbells, and...it was really hard on my wrists...worse than a regular barbell! I could only do two sets with 45 lbs (I'm in Stage 4) and I have been doing 3 at that weight.
  • OH, and I'm doing the Bod Pod on Thursday, to find out what my body fat percentage and RMR are...has anyone done this? I'm looking forward to getting some hard numbers vs. trying to figure stuff out on my own.
  • Ladies, just want to chime in here. I have been living and breathing the NROL4W since July 4 and have made some fun strength gains, while trying not to freak out about how much I'm eating and the pounds I've gained. Granted, I was too thin (skinny fat) before from years of low calorie eating and runningrunningrunning,…
