I ran my first 5k when I was 44 at a local charity race. I managed to do it in just under 24 minutes. I thought I was going to collapse at the finish ! lol ! Congratulations on your first race and best of luck to you in all of your next events !

As of right now...no. I don't have a special Valentine. But I'm certainly willing to entertain offers from anyone interested in being mine for the day. (If I get too many requests though, I may have to split them all up and assign shifts to my Sweethearts...) BAHAHAHA !!! :flowerforyou:

That would be a fairly accurate number for a round of golf while walking a course, but there's no way you would burn that if you were using a golf cart. Unless, of course, you had a wicked slice like I do and spend most of your round walking through the woods, farmers fields, riverbanks, rock piles, bushes, sand traps,…

I have a long run planned for Saturday morning, you can count me in for this as well...

If I'm doing a weight workout I like to eat a decent meal a couple of hours prior. If I'm running I like to eat a bit lighter, maybe an hour before I head out for my run. I ALWAYS like to eat an hour or so after a good workout though, be it weights, running, or whatever.

I do weights 3 or 4 days a week, and run 5 days a week, and try to take a full day off to rest and recover once every 7 or 8 days...

I'm good with either. Currently I don't have a weight training partner and I enjoy the freedom of going at my own pace and having complete control of my workouts. I crank my tunes and totally focus on my workout, with no outside distractions. No wasted time spent talking or joking around...my workouts are quick and…

Best of luck with your first half marathon ! My best tips would be to not try to do too much too soon, gradually increase your distances and don't increase your total distance by more than 9% or 10% a week, you risk injury that way. Your body will need time to adjust to the extra miles. Also I highly recommend pullback…

I used Hal Higdon's half marathon training schedule last year for my first ever half and I beat my goal time by 12 minutes. This year I used John Stanton's marathon training schedule and beat my goal time for a full marathon by 4 minutes. They were very different programs but they were both effective. Here's the link to…

I achieved my main goal of running my first ever marathon in 2011...and I also achieved my secondary goals by losing 12 pounds, and eating healthier. (I'm currently on a 2 week hiatus from the healthy eating though :) )

Seriously ? Good luck finding ANY nutritional value in Nutella. I love the stuff...but there's nothing good about it that I could ever find. If someone can tell me I'm wrong, I'd welcome that...
