#1 fave has always been A Christmas Story - "You used up all the glue on PURPOSE !!!" Scrooged is a close second. "Back off big guy. That may work with the ladies but it's not gonna work with me". Christmas Vacation #3. "Unravel these. We need to check every bulb. Ooooohhh...there's a little knot here, you can work on that"

BRAVO !!!!! I loved reading your post ! Thanks for sharing :)

I did the Warrior Dash this summer at Horseshoe Valley Ski Resort in Barrie, and also did the Spartan Race at Kelso Quarry in Milton. For Warrior you really need to run a lot of hills...and my suggestion would be that as you get comfortable with you rtraining, add some ankle weights...it will simulate running the Warrior…

Run. Don't walk.

"Seamless transition". I also get an eye twitch anytime I hear someone in customer service type roles who use the phrase "not a problem". For example, I'll be ordering something at Tim Hortons and I'll ask for extra salt packets. 9 times out of 10 the response I get will be "Not a problem". Makes me carzier than I already…

Whoops. I entered the wrong thread. Sorry. I thought this was a discussion on punctuation. ***leaves room***

I'm proud to say that not once have I ever squished or killed a snail. Mainly because I can never catch the quick little buggers...

I've killed a worm or two in my day... You'll need to let me know your race schedule so that I'm sure to avoid entering the same events !.

Hmmmmmm. Seems that these are all races being run in GEORGIA. What's up with that ? ;)

I'm game for almost anything AFTER October 19th...so unfortunately I can't make your race this weekend . But let me know how it goes !!! (Are there not a lot of hills in Denver ? I was looking for something FUN ! Hills aren't fun !!!)

Forget the clothes. Run naked. It's way cheaper. And...no laundry. :grumble: But if that's not an option...Goodwill and similar second hand stores, or factory outlets are usually pretty good, and fairly inexpensive.

I'm rather fortunate that my employer pays for many of the races that I go in. But the ones I do pay for myself I have no problems with as most of the time the races are a fundraising event and the proceeds usually go towards a great cause. And...you can't put a price on the shiny medal that you get when you cross the…

I'm loving some of the responses here so far...some really awesome and inspirational stories !

On a serious note, I signed up for my first marathon to give myself a challenge, to have a goal to achieve, and to prove to other people that I was able and capable of doing it, regardless of how critical they were of my abilities. It's been a long summer of training but as race day gets closer I'm so glad I decided to do…

On long run training days, and during the early morning, 5:00 am runs, I likely ask myself this question at LEAST once every mile... :grumble: If I ever figure out the answer you'll be the first to know, AZ...

Nobody ever accomplished anything by talking about it, so I'm a big fan of the "Just Do It" line. It's simple, but powerful. I also like "Pain is Temporary. Quitting lasts forever" .

Is that the new politically correct term for a body rub parlor employee ?

It's a pull back week for a reason. Don't burn yourself out by doing too much. Maybe go by feel once you get going on Saturday night. If you feel fantastic running at night maybe do a bit more but don't go at a fast pace...log the mileage but don't overexert yourself in the speed department. If you feel pretty sluggish…
