  • ^^^This...TOTALLY!
  • Rule of thumb: R.I.C.E. - rest, ice, compression, elevation. I think after the first 72 hours you are supposed to alternate ice and heat, but with my last two muscle strains, I only iced. Initially, lots of ice and rest and wrapped the muscle. After I felt better and started to exercise I iced. Never used heat and all…
  • Me too! Why not have a little fun? Sexuality is a part of life!
  • I was adopted at 8 days old. My parents were told a BS story of how I was a born to a young German woman who was a student here and how my bio father was a first generation German. My parents are both from Germany and I've read articles that tell how social workers would do that to make the adopted child more palatable to…
  • Sounds cool, gonna have to tell my son about it. He's obsessed with zombies. What's the app called?
  • And let me guess, no one here has EVER mocked the gutteral speech of a German, the southern twang of a hillbilly or a Mexican, Spaniard, Frenchman...the list is endless. C'mon people, find something a little more worthy to protest, like abuse, child porn, or homelessness. There ARE stereotypes for a reason. Doesn't mean we…
  • COOL! MFP is all I've used for the past year. I suppose it's worked OK for me.
  • *QUOTE I will try that route, thank u...and saw ur ticker (WOW, great weight loss and oh such a cutie!)*UNQUOTE Thank-you! MFP has been a great tool. The pic on the ticker is my grandson. Love him!!:smooched:
  • I know a lot of people say MFP over estimates calories burned, but under your exercise tab, you can search "Strength training" and put in the number of minutes you lifted weights to get your calorie burn number.
  • We told our kids we were actually aliens who had eaten their parents and we were just waiting for them to get fat enough to eat and then we could go back to our home planet.
  • I saw this on facebook today and thought it was pretty applicable for here as well: The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bull**** story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it.
  • I just rode my stationary bike for 30 mins and added some strength training so I could have pizza! Yay and I'm off to pick it up!
  • How old were you when you got engaged? 18 How long had you been together before getting engaged? 1 month How old were you when you got married? 19 Are you still together (if so, for how long)? 27 years this past Nov.
  • Add some dumbells (also serve as great defensive weapons) or wrist and ankle weights for toning. Do you have steps at work? I would do our 7 flights of stairs just before I would break for dinner. Gives you a little extra. How about some "wall push-ups", lunges, leg kicks (little ones) while your standing around. I jog in…
  • Not sweating is a symptom of HYPOTHYROIDISM. See a doctor to rule out this health issue. I use to never sweat, no matter how hot it was or how hard I worked out. Now I sweat like a pig. (I am on levothyroxine for my hypothyroidism) Hope all is well.
  • Definitely! My motivation to exercise? So I can eat more!!! lol
  • Some people will eat 1000-2000 calories over on one day ON PURPOSE! I myself make a point to go over one or two days a week. Many say that it is not the daily total that counts, but the overall week. Soooo, if you've been "good" 6 out of 7 days, then all is well. My favorite saying on here is "When you were fat, you didn't…
  • Hello and congrats on your amazing weight loss. I too am "stuck". 135 is my goal as well. I haven't been working out as hard as I was b/c I injured my MCL in Dec. so my weight loss has really slowed. Welcome and good luck with the competition!
  • We did shredded cheddar cheese mixed into the cream cheese. Extra good that way too!
  • Definitely don't get discouraged. I'm having an excessive "grazing" day today myself. Binge days happen. Just be sure it's only occasional. Eat right and exercise as many days during the week that you can and you won't undo all your hard work. Favorite saying on here is you won't get skinny by eating healthy for one day…
  • When I was younger, I was slim (even now I can't refer to myself as "skinny") 5'7" and 115 pounds at 34-23-34. I thought I was a COW! Everyone else looked normal. My one friend who was exactly my size looked skinny. I mean, sure, if someone was really overweight, I saw them as fat, but didn't judge b/c I saw me in them. I…
  • Sorry to hear about your diagnosis of diabetes, but, keep in mind, (not meaning to sound flippant here) it could be worse! Fill out your profile so when you post on the forum, people can go there to see what they might have in common with you. This should inspire some friend requests. Check the groups section here on MFP…
  • Neighbors!!!

  • The will has to come from you. When you're ready to watch what you eat, you will. You don't have to cut everything out, just learn to balance it with exercise and moderation. One obvious answer to getting motivated to eat right...your baby. What do you want to teach your child about nutrition and exercise. Practice now and…

  • Sorry, but that just looks gross and alien to me. You can tell by her legs and hips that she is just way too skinny.
  • ^^^^ THIS!!! What's the point of living if you can't enjoy life and time with friends. Exercise before the party, drink water, eat slowly, sample everything. Then focus on eating within your calorie goals for the rest of the week. Many people believe in going over your calorie limit every now and again, as long as you're…
  • You know, I never thought of myself as a competitive person, but I guess I have some ruthlessness in me after all. LOL!!
  • Friend request sent.
