Organic foods debunked
I copied this... We are bombarded by the current adage that Organic fruits and vegetables are far superior in nutrition and safety than non-organic and that justifies the much higher prices. Well, from the results of this Stanford research study, maybe we should rethink that one: "Any shopper can tell that organic fruits…

Tolerance comes in many forms.
Call me crazy, but this post is in response to a thread from about a year ago. I haven't been on the forum since reading that, but have been bothered by the thought of it off and on this whole time. "Laugh at me for wearing a banana clip, or the wrong style jeans or shoes, but ask yourself; would you laugh at the color of…

Is there an app for that?
Anybody have any suggestions about how I could log miles when I use my oh so old fashioned exercise bike? or am I just s.o.l.? I was hoping to be able to use either the runkeeper or runtastic app, but don't see how that could work for a bike that has no read outs what so ever.

Hello!!
Just joined this group. So excited!! Didn't even think to check if there was a "biking group" until someone suggested it. My husband and I are planning to ride the Ohio to Erie Trail next month. The length is 325 miles and we are taking a week to do it. I was wondering if any of you had taken extended/overnight trips and…

Biking the Ohio to Erie Trail
Hi! My husband and I are planning to bike up from Cinncinatti to Cleveland using this route. I was curious if anyone else has done this? Or, has anyone else on MFP done an extensive bike tour like this. (325 miles) This will be our first long range trip, any suggestions?

Anyone else annoyed by...
The commercials for Amberin? The so-called hormone replacement that will help you lose weight. I admit, I use to look for the "miracle cure" for obesity, but now I just roll my eyes at all the gimmicks out there. But, for some reason, the amberin ads just really bug me. (The testosterone ones do to b/c they tout weight…

Could use some friends
Hi!! I am not vegan/vegetarian. I binge eat REAL crappy food but am honest about logging it (even if I just use the quick cal add tool) I'm not the healthiest eater, but compared to two years ago, I have really improved. I plan to stay on MFP probably for life to keep myself in control. I keep my friends list low so that I…

If you're going to deactivate your account...
At least say something to the friends on your list that you've been the most interactive with. I've had two friends deactivate their accounts with no warning. This last lady was very active and dedicated and we've shared a lot. And all of a sudden, "POOF" - gone. I worry about them, Did something bad happen? Also, to be…

Latest Dos Equis commercial
Just saw it today...The most interesting man in the world on working out in the gym- "The benefits you get from running on a treadmill aren't the same as what you get running from a lion" Love it!

Thought this might give us some focus...
The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered “Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present…

More room in my drawers!!
LOL! So true in two ways. I've been on MFP since February 17, 2011. I started a new profile to get my original username back and to kind of make this about getting to the home stretch, so my ticker doesn't reflect the work I've done so far. Today I, *deep breath*, tossed out my size 18 and 16 shorts and jeans. My hubby was…
