  • Now I remember why I'm not on this forum anymore. Half of you TOTALLY missed the point and half of those people felt it necessary to attack me for it. I was just trying to point out to people that nobody deserves to be made fun of. We should friend/accept people based on their character and not dismiss them based on…
  • I'm so glad this got posted. Even after reading through the thread, I'm still a bit confused. Experts say to burn fat, you must reach a certain target heart rate, around 120, I believe? I'm thinking that if you have more difficulty getting your heart rate up to that range, you have a harder time losing weight. As with one…
  • I've kept baggies of carrots or raisins or some such in my shirt pocket under my lab coat. When I find I have a minute or two I'll wash my hands and reach into the baggie for a little munch break to hold me over until I can have a full meal. Remember, your brain needs the nutrition as much as your body. You won't be doing…
  • I think Carl made the right choice. The kid was staring him down. You could tell he was trying to take Carl's measure, as in is this kid for real or just playing at holding a gun and I got a chance to take him down. Carl is a product of the new world. A mix of his dad and the governor. I thought this was an excellent…
  • Good luck navigating the site! Focus on creating healthy habits rather than weight loss. That helps keep me going when I don't see the scale move! Take care!!
  • Bump, any takers?
  • Sounds really motivated!! Good luck with your workouts!! MFP will definitely hook you up with some good people.
  • I love it with butter, cinnamon and brown sugar! Cooked in microwave or oven. Yum!!
  • What's helped me is putting health before weight loss. Everyone knows it's good to have fruits and veggetables each day. I made it a priority to have those every day. Before long, I was planning what to put in smoothies for breakfast and how creative I could get with a salad. Meals don't get boring because the fruits and…
  • Just raised my calories using TDEE calculations. After the New Year, I decided to get serious about getting healthy and losing weight. I let my calorie limit go down to 1200 which is what MFP said I should eat to lose 1 pound per week. I have been eating healthy and with in my limit, but instead of losing anything in the…
  • OK, silly me, I thought this had a tip about looking for signs of your health in your breasts...kind of like how you can look at your finger nails or hair. It still was about health, but obviously the breasts were to give the men happy thoughts. I preferred the kittens!
  • bumping cuz this got pushed off of the recent post page real quick.
  • Hi!! Born in Cleveland, raised in Bay Village, live in Ashtabula county! Welcome fellow buckeye!!
  • You will have sooo much fun! What a way to stay fit and share time together. My husband and I rediscovered biking two years ago and completed a trip across Ohio this past summer. We love it and have a good time together. Plus it was instrumental to my weight loss. Have fun, stay safe!!
  • Darn, those t*tillating threads were what made the forum interesting...oh wait, I used a symbol for what might be a bad word, so, which HRM should I buy?

  • Not Christmas day and not the 3 days after! Gonna have fun with the family, relax and enjoy!
  • Exercise bike with very low resistance.
  • Done! :)
  • Don't pay much attention to it. More focused on not binging on junk food each day and getting in my exercise. I just trust MFP and keep plugging away.
  • Thanks everyone!! I wasn't worried too much for the calories, I was more worried about the miles. I do that Team Challenge that "Snowridesbikes" puts on and want to be able to add my share, lol. Hubby has a computer on his bike, gonna see if I can confiscate it! So excited now!
  • I was in the same boat as you last year. I had a cheapo granny bike from Walmart (one gear, pedal brakes). My clothes were just your average everyday sweats and shorts. When we started, we thought doing 8 miles at 9-10 mph was the shizzle. Fast forward to this year...I have a new Trek road bike, biking shorts with the…
  • Any updates to this story? Was it love or did you end up as friends? Editing to add that apparently it didn't work out. OP deactivated her account...:brokenheart:
  • Welcome Jackie and good luck working towards a healthier you!! Trust MFP, set small goals for yourself and you'll find success. The forum activity is usually friendly and informational and there are groups you can join that are more specific to match your interests.
  • Thanks for the welcome everybody! I saw some of the challenges you have posted, and looks like you all have a good time. We are very excited about this ride through Ohio.

  • Eat it all the time and everyday. I try to get a serving of fruit and a serving of veggies everyday. Not much, but a definite improvement over how I was eating before MFP. Experiment with various fruits, you may find one you're passionate about. Also, peanut butter on an apple is to die for!
  • Good luck, ABSOLUTELY work at this and do it now! I was you 10 years ago. I accepted that life was pretty much done for me and I was just getting old. I now have such a different and new outlook and zest for life. This journey to a healthier lifestyle takes work and committment, but if you trust in MFP and log in honestly…
  • Bump?
in Hello!! Comment by Heidi64 August 2012
  • Thanks you two!!! I will do both! I never thought to check the groups, feel kind of silly now.
  • This is just sad and humiliating, haha. Gonna try a different title
  • Maybe there's some long distance bikers out there this morning. If not, I'm going for the record for most consecutive posts made by a person on their own thread.
