  • I have a spreadsheet where I've been tracking this. My maintenance calories is about 2,000 to 2,100. Using the estimated 3,500 calories per pound, the slope of the estimated weight matches up pretty well with the slope of my actual weight. Therefore, I can say that these estimates are pretty accurate for me. I do…
  • Interesting concept. Taking the psychological aspects into account. (Really? Could that lead to ED?) Maybe I will start to "zig-zag" in order to keep my metabolism going. During stressful periods at work and in class, I do tend to under eat because I'm busy. Maybe I could plan to rack up those 'points' and use them when…
  • Everybody poops. It's natural.
  • Awesome! Thanks for all the great suggestions :)
  • As others said, be sure to keep hydrated with high sodium intake. Water weight is easy to lose, so don't be stressed about that. My concern is that our bodies sometimes trick us into thinking we are hungry when we are really dehydrated. So the more salt you have in your system may lead you to be more hungry and consume…
  • Yeah! Totally agree
  • Ohhh I like a good argument. :) Very interesting ideas here. So, how would I know what is 'good' and what is 'bad'? To me, bread doesn't seem to have much bad in it. Bread is fluffy and soft. It reminds me of a pillow. How can pillows be bad? Although, bread contains a lot of carbs. How can nuts be considered 'good' if…
  • A friend here at MFP helped me find this: http://www.free-workout-routines.net/tdee.html It gives the formula that you are probably talking about. There is a separate one for men and women. Following the math from this site, I computed the same result that MFP gave me. I'm happy to see this. I'm convinced that this will…
  • I think I have an easier time falling asleep when I have a satisfied stomach for some reason. I'm finding it a little harder to fall asleep now, but I'm able to sleep through the night.
  • Haha. Aint that the truth! I don't truly believe anything until I am thoroughly convinced of the fact. This is just something that I would like to explore and understand the math behind all this. I'm guessing that the initial target is a complete guess based on statistics. Does the software adjust when it sees that your…
  • What I'd like to know is how myfitnesspal calculated that I will naturally lose 2100 calories in a day. I read somewhere that men burn 300 more calories a day than women do. So I would think that gender does have some sort of factor when deciding when to stop eating.
  • The reason why I got that feeling is that when originally signing up, all over the home page was quotes from women. There were no input from men there. The icon for the website is a woman too. Either that or a highly flexible, thin man. I'm glad to hear that there are a lot of men here and have found that this tool works…
