  • Hi! I run and do bootcamp 3x's to 4x's a week. I don't think you have to give up bootcamp but you may have to scale it back to less times per week. If I'm in heaving training for a race, bootcamp may get cut back to 2x's or 3x's a week depending on how I feel. I take at least one rest day a week and my long runs are…
  • Yep, go to a running store and have them fit you for shoes. They know what the best ones are for your gait, instep, pronation, etc. Don't just go for the least expensive pair or the ones that look the best to you. I have been in Brook's Ghost for 3 years but I have a wide foot and I'm a heavy runner that needs more…
  • I've got exercise induced asthma that is worse when my allergies act up or when it's really cold outside. I usually don't use an inhaler because it makes my heart race. It's taken a while but I have learned how to pretty much control my breathing when I'm out on a run and I can usually keep it an attack from happening if I…
  • Hmmmm, pretty sure doctors are wrong when they say diet has nothing to do with acne. I've had horrible cystic acne since I was 13. I've been under dermatologist care since then. I've tried everything.....including Accutane. It is pretty harsh but it does clear up the acne for a few years. About 4 years after I took it I…
  • Yep, this one just won't leave my head.....somehow it even ended up in one of my dreams last night. "I'm gonna pop some tags, I only got $20 dollars in my pocket, I'm hunting', looking for a come up, this is F@#$%g awesome"
  • You are doing so great!! You will make you goal for this month no problem! Have you set a goal for next month yet? I love the Leslie Sansone Walk at Home DVD's. They can really get your heart rate up if you want it too.
  • When I climbed a flight of stairs to go to a meeting. I was sweating and had to stop at the top of the stairs to catch my breath before I could keep walking to the meeting. My co-workers politely waited for me but I felt so embarrassed......
  • You are doing an amazing job! I agree with Waffles1980 that you should probably talk to your doctor about your large gains in a week. To gain 8lbs of fat in a week you would have to eat 28,000 calories over your TDEE - that's a LOT. It probably is water weight which might have many different medical reasons. Also, finding…
  • yep, this!!!! Try adding some eggs or avocado into your salad. Peanut butter is a great way to get in more calories. Heck, have another slice of pizza - probably not the healthiest choice but it's better than always eating under your calorie goal.
  • This can be really confusing when you first start. What activity level did you use to figure your calories? Lightly active? Sedentary? I do bootcamp 3 days a week and maybe run a few other days but not always. I have my activity level set at "lightly active" since I can only count on 3 days a week of workouts. I'm at 1700…
  • Yep, eat your total calories, even if you don't work out that day. If you are doing the TDEE -20% method you don't eat your exercise calories back. They are already figured into your calorie goal for the day. That's why you have to pick an activity level when you figure it out. I do log my exercise in the tracker but I…
  • For me, rest days are a necessity so that I don't get burned out mentally or physically. But who says you gotta go to the gym to get in a little workout? Do some bodyweight exercises at home or a workout dvd. And if you do take a rest day, don't worry about 281 calories. Just cut back a few calories the next few days and…
  • Non-Scale Victory and Time of Month......took me a while to figure out the NSV too :-)
  • Yep, head to the nearest running store. Also, take in the old shoes that you've been using on the treadmill. Sometimes the wear pattern on the bottom can help give them a clue about your stride. Shoes are an investment but are totally worth it. I've been in Brooks Ghost's for three years. Every running store I've been too…
  • Is there some other type of exercise that you can do on the mornings that you don't go to the pool? Walking, exercise video? If the workout helps with hunger levels then adding a little light exercise on non-pool mornings might help....just a thought.
  • Depends on how much my teeth hurt..............but 99% of the time I'll take the exercise.
  • Love this!!!! Mind if I use it sometime?
  • I live in TX so it's almost always spring or summer here. Thank God we only get a few weeks of real winter a year. I loathe cold weather. Running on a beautiful warm and sunny day is wonderful. Getting out and just walking is great too. I also do a bootcamp three times a week. It's outside unless its raining, below 40…
  • Great job!! Love the flirty little red dress. You rock it
  • Dallas rock'n'roll half marathon on march 24th.
  • I work out at 7:00pm. I usually have Greek yogurt and muesli around 5:30. The mix of carbs and protein seem to give me plenty of energy for bootcamp.
  • Today I'm proud that, since Monday, I've only eaten out once. Big for me since I usually eat out for lunch every day and a few time a week for dinner. Better for my wallet and my waistline
  • I'm going to have to try this. I love tomatoes and this sounds yummy and easy!
  • I cut out soda 3 years ago. I was drinking well over a 12 pack every day at my worst. I've had two diet cokes since then and both times I got horrible headaches. It wasn't the caffeine or the artificial sweetener since I still have those in moderation. It must be one of the other chemicals in there. All of that stuff in…
  • Yep!! Same problem here. My doc said it was pretty normal in people who lose a lot of weight.
  • It helped me to set fitness goals that weren't related to weight. That way, when the scale wasn't moving I was still able to see the progress I was making and feel proud for the positive changes I was making. Show up to every scheduled class for a month, run around the block, run 3 miles, do 10 full body push-ups, make it…
  • "My whole day consist of 2 meals which is basically baked chicken breasts and a salad twice a day and a snack like yogurt." Plan your meals and snacks. Do some research about healthy foods. You do not have to eat just chicken breasts and salads in order to lose weight. If my daily diet was that restrictive I would be binge…
  • Awwww, sweetie, I'm so sorry that you're going through this! You are not alone. I was in a very verbally abusive marriage for 6 years. At first I didn't realize that the snide comments about my love handles etc were abusive but about 5 years into the marriage he actually turned very cruel. I remember asking him one day why…
  • Life wouldn't be worth living with out guacamole!!!!!
